Garbo is one of the cutest cats ever, which is why it's so devastating to learn about her history. She was in a living situation where an owner was keeping 27 cats, which she could not properly take care of. Garbo wouldn't let anyone open her mouth and refused to eat any food because her teeth were hurting so badly from decay. She was also suffering from a severe ear infection. It was not until Cat Connection stepped in and rescued her and give her proper medical attention.

She's so pretty! Aww. My cat was also saved from a pet hoarder, they had 30 cats and when I picked her up from the shelter she was very shy and unsure, she's by far the most affectionate cat I've had in my entire life. Patience really is a virtue when it comes to cats, hope this lovely girl finds a forever home!
oh poor baby girl... I understand what she has went through... I lost my dental insur..and have had mouth pain.. my heart aches for what she went through... I am so happy she is no long hurting... my she have a blessed life.. filled with love and a gentle touch...

OMG Garbo is so cute! I hate that some people in the world hoard animals like they are objects. I used to foster cats but I don't anymore. It was such a great experience. I hope Garbo has found his forever home! Amazing video.

She's so sweet 'Love Her' ! I think all polydactyl's act the same their all lovey dovey's i saved my cat he's the sweetest , He doesn't have an extra toe he has two i wish i could adopt her if Garbo was available.But if she did find a forever home i am so happy for her!
78% of people getting a cat don't adopt?? That honestly shocks me. I would've thought fewer than half of pet owners buy from a breeder. O_O
If you are REALLY concerned about what you're getting with a shelter cat, go to a no-cage rescue, or to a shelter that will let you spend a lot of time in a room with the cat where the kitty is free to move around, and you'll be able to see how you're getting along with the cat. And remember that just because a cat doesn't fit one human's personality, they might be a great fit for you or someone else.

+Nerys Ghemor Well I never adopted or got anything from a breeder. I still *rescued* at least one of my two cats though. It was either some one had thrown out rescued cat, as a kitten, in a pit of alligators, or he had wondered off. So that number doesn't shock me.
Two of my cats were rescues off the street, another was abandoned by its owner in an adjacent apartment. People have a lot of ways they acquire cats other than going to a shelter OR a breeder.

What a beautiful cat she is, good luck to her. Why the heck do people hoard animals? 29 cats or whatever it was. I mean come on, anyone in the right mind could easily know that its too much. I mean I have 4 cats and it's just exhausting, one of them is enough. People should not be so selfish, put the cat first. Bless her anyway, good luck to her! Make sure you find her a good home with a good owner(s) :)

I have no sympathy for anyone suffering from a hoarding disorder when they inflict that disorder on helpless animals. Don't tell me they can't see what they are doing. Animals are not possessions.

She did not grow back her teeth. That is not possible but,,, despite having no teeth she eats - even dry food as stated clearly in the video

A cat with no teeth cannot eat dry food. Don't even give it to her! She could injure her gums.
They probably mean softened dry food. (soaked in milk, water or even gravy) Though you would still have to be very careful.
Balderdash. I had a cat with a heart murmur which meant that they could not put her under anesthesia to clean her teeth. She had been a feral cat and wouldn't let me brush her teeth. Her teeth fell out and by the age of 16, she had none. It never impeded her ability to eat dry food; cats mostly swallow dry food whole anyway. I gave her dry food in the AM (a certain brand with small, rounded dry pieces were her favorite) and canned in the evening and she enjoyed both. She lived until the age of 19.

Elizabeth M Don't take my word for it, ask a vet instead of making things up in your head. Cats generally swallow most dry food as a matter of course. My cat had no difficulty eating either food and relished her dry food. To feed only canned food is not good, it generally lacks enough fiber. She lived to be 19 y/o and had it not been for the melamine that had been put in pet food during that time which effected many pets, instead of the rice it was supposed to contain, she would have lived even longer.
A cat can go under for surgry, depends on the murmur severit. However, people say this to avoid spending money.
