Maisy and Bear lived at the shelter for months. Maisy was adopted and returned three times because of a leg injury that was never treated. These dogs were in their final days before euthanasia. Luckily Helen rescued them from the shelter and has been an incredible foster mom taking the time to help them get socialized and find a new loving home.

You Are A Beautiful Woman To Rescue These Two Dogs Together
So sad! I'm sure they didn't deserve this. Glad to see you adopted them. We have gotten almost all our puppies from the shelter( always puppies no matter their age.) Our last and current puppy is a Siberian Husky. We love our baby! That is what she has become. Her name is Bella Rose. Bella means beautiful and that is what she is inside and out. So spoiled now. She has one blue eye and one brown one. She sure has my husband's number. She can usually anything she wants out of him! She sleeps on the foot of our bed even though she has a puppy bed. They can be the best companions if you have patience and love them and train them. It takes a little work, but well worth the effort. They have so much love to give! They just need to be given a chance. They seem to know and are so grateful! Good luck with this adoption they needed this chance!
I've adopted five shelter dogs and I don't regret it one bit. The best dogs a man could find to share his time with and I hope to adopt a few more before I leave this planet.
No animals time should ever be running out. Just saying those words break my heart.
Bravo to the heroes that step up-and make "Their time is running out" a thing of the past!
why would some one be not-liking those two beautiful angels??????????
When I run across these older videos I always wonder about the dogs and if they're still alive and together in a great home.
How can someone neglect these beautiful, spirited dogs. The fact that they still have their will and passion for life is incredible
God bless you
❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for taking these dogs from death row. xx
Have Thay been adopted! Please let us know what happend to them.
you are such a sweet heartfelt woman
Maisy is such a beautiful dog! Bear is adorable too, not my type of dog though.
You are my hero , Bear and Maisy say thank you , as do I.
I can't imagine not wanting these two. Considering this is from 2013, I am sure they found homes but just as an FYI for someone who is hunting a dog for the first time. Rescuing a bonded pair is a great way to go. If you are a person who wants to be able to board the dogs once or twice a year so you can take a vacation without the pups, it makes it so much easier. They have each other, so you don't have to worry about them totally stressing out. Board them once for 2 days a couple of weeks before your trip, so they understand what is happening and will do well together. If you are lucky enough that money is not a real tight issue and you have never had dogs before, it might be hard to understand but, aside from the expense involved, 2 can be much easier than one.
you will be blessed.....
Thank you x
THEY ARE SO LOVELY
Thank you
Thank you for rescuing Maisy and Bear! 🐶
Ooh Bear and Maisy, you're both so adorable! 😍❤😍❤
OMG, Bear looks just like my baby Kuma (means "bear" in Japanese). I was in tears when I saw this video at work. Kuma is long gone and I wish I could have adopted them.
I just searched it up online she did end up adopting them ❤️❤️❤️
Neverlived 👍👍👍
My sweet babies, so glad
Their so cute
Talk about people doing good things with their lives. Good on you for seeing the goodness in both these sweet dogs - and for taking the time to do what Maisy and Bear's original owner never bothered to do; that is, to socialize and care for them. So many people adopt a dog thoughtlessly and then leave their highly intelligent, highly social friend chained in the backyard.
Speak-up whenever you see someone posting an ad on Kijiji or Craigslist, "Looking for a Puppy - Free or Cheap!" because those are exactly the type of people that once owned puppies named Maisy and Bear, but then found them less-cute as they matured - and too expensive, once Maisy injured her hip. Next stop: the local pound, where they tell themselves, "the dogs will find good homes" - even though most never do.
That's top shelf lady...top shelf
Thank you for saving these two sweet babies. Would you please let us all know if they found a loving home....
In case you didn't hear the nice lady in the video kept them!!
@@1105pitbull YAY!!! I'm SO glad she kept them!!
Where did these 2 dogs finally ended up? Did they stay with this wonderful lady that rescued them from being killed?
My The motion throughout video
😐😐😭😭😭😭😀😀😀😀😀😀the end
So sad what happens to animals under human hands
Love and thank you Helen for saving these two beautiful dogs. You have a place in Heaven for sure.
Thank you thank you for doing that!! I have been crying over this video all morning. God bless you!!
My heart is pounding .. :( so many animals suffering..
You are a sweet lady. Thank you for taking them in.Have they been finally adopted?
Such beautiful babies
OMG crying my eyes out here. THANK YOU BEAUTIFULLLLLLL PERSON !!
Prayed that they found a loving home together. Bless these foster parents for their care and devotion.
75% bough and not adopted?? Are you sure? That's insane!
They look really happy, hopefully someone can fit and love both :D
xoxoxoxoxoxo
I'm happy that finally they're adopted in a sweet home with lovely owner, and it's great for them not to be separated, they're meant together you see..
Bear looks like a Labrador / Amstaff mix. He kind of looks like a Labrador who is camouflaged to be an Amstaff.
They are like your 2 cillds
It would help A LOT to know where they are located.
What has happened to them in the last 2 years? I hope and pray that only good things and good people have found and loved them.
neakybird The nice lady ended up adopting them.💟
Debbie Sides ...wonderful. Thanks for sharing
"Thank you "comes from my heart, for these two beautiful dogs, you have kept together.
I dont understand why shelters do this shit. Put dogs down just because they werent adopted. That's fucking ridiculous and goes against what shelters are even for. Not to mention unfair to dogs who dont even need to be put down.
They don't put them down just because they don't get adopted. It's a matter of lack of space and resources, unfortunately. Either they keep the number of animals down or the animals end up starving, getting sick, and living with no space and in filth. So many animals just get dropped off there... I wish they didn't do this though. There are no kill shelters out there, but it can be rough for them...
Showdax I agree with Justin. If shelters don't have space and resources to keep a dog then they shouldn't have taken the dog in in the first place. It's better to be a stray than to be euthanised. At least when they are a stray they still have hope.
Or do you think homeless people should be put down?
Pile Ofsand You misunderstand me. I was saying that the reasoning for putting down animals is more complicated than the fact that they were there awhile and didn't get adopted as stated in the original post. I agree that those shelters should not have taken them in if they could not take care of the animals. If the animals are simply dropped off, as so many of them are, then shelters need to do a better job of finding other shelters with room.
+pile of sand I disagree, the stray dogs spend their lives in fear of other dogs and of vicious humans. They never have enough to eat or a reliable water source. Their bodies immune system gets run down quickly and they end up ill, flea bitten, skin infections, ear infections and frequently get run over by a car. When they can't get up due broken bones and systemic infections they die in pain and misery.
That is the life of a stray, speaking for myself I would rather be euthanized than go through that.
so cute both are.were they adopted finally?
happy ending i am very sad to see animale suffring everywhere
It's great to know that they're in a better place now, can we get a update? I'm assuming she got adopted or is still with foster
The woman who is fostering these dogs is amazing. I hope they have found a forever home together.
Pat Finn They did. She ended up adopting them. 😊🐶🐶💟
can you please give an update please .thsnk you for saving them
Linda Ortado She ended up adopting them so now they can be together for life. 💟
Do you have an update?
i do understand the predicament of the shelters especially if they're crowded but that is not enough reason to euthanize them.i hope there would be a day when they will never euthanize animals except if the animal is in great suffering.
That is the goal. Unfortunately many people would rather have a purebred and pay thousands of dollars for what is basically an inbred dog. Spay and neuter your pets folks!
Bet you've never donated a dime in your life. Or do the dogs eat fresh air while furious UA-cam do-gooders tell the only people actually working for animals the fucking obvious.
A kindred spirit lady God bless you and the two dogs as well.
So many people have asked! Why won't you post an update?
So what happened to them? That was 7 years ago.
Just loved this video, and story as it is very encouraging to see how these two dogs were rescued and given a home !!
Thanks and great work.
Unless the dog is suffering why the hell will you euthanize them there still perfectly normal and fine
I wonder why people don't care to post updates. Or is this not your video and you reposted somebody else's video? People get curious and want to know the final outcome, ya know?
you"re right
Cris Melo interesting thought
Cris Melo ikrr ughh
Cris Melo She ended up adopting them.💟
it's videos like this that remind me kind hearted people still exist
All I can say is your an angel God bless for saving those dogs lives
God bless you my dear
I'd say the number one reason that people choose not to adopt a dog from shelters where I live is because shelters cost more than other ways of getting a dog, the shelters make you jump through hoops and are budget mcjudgebitches and fair enough you never know what the fuck sort of baggage you'll get with your adopted, expensive, difficult to get dog.
Aaaw, THANK YOU soooo much. They are both so sweet and full of LOVE. I cried watching this because I can't believe that beautiful creatures like this are killed every single day. It breaks my heart. People who save animals are ANGELS :)
I Cant Stand Dogs And other Animals Being Neglected Or Euthanized Its A Cruel Thing to do, Maisy, Was Neglected Because of her injury, Bear Had No Reason To be, Me and my family, are adopting a 2 year old dog who's never had a home, He is coming to my home next Thursday, Welcome To My Home Wifi! I adopted My Cat Zazzles When he was young, he was Fed Cheerios(iknow its hard to believe, but its true), He was My Friend's Cat, Her and her Family had around 4 - 6 animals at the time, they didn't have enough money or time to take care of these animals, Her 4 cats Zazzles Mothers, Tiger's Mother, Tiger, And Zazzles, And 2 dogs Lets call them Rose The Puppie's Mother And Scarlet The Puppy ( i cant remember there Names ) Tiger's Mother Hated Tiger, So Zazzles' Mother practically adopted Tiger as her own, Rose and Scarlet were adopted by a different family shortly after i adopted zazzles, and Tiger's Mother jumped out of My Friend's Apartment Window, Dying, Tiger, Had to go to the Vet ( for some reason, i was never told. ) and had to stay there for a bit, My Friend Blamed her neighbor for 'hugging her\tiger too hard' that definitely wasn't the case, The vet never returned Tiger, and never gave her family why, they didn't tell them anything, Me and my family, are guessing Tiger wasn't Given back and was put up for adoption due to the state of her health, Zazzles now at my home Happy and 2 years old, a Healthy, Outdoors\indoors cat, Animals i don't care if there Big Or Tiny, Injured or Healthy, Are Living Creatures, who have a life to life and feelings to feel, Please #stopanimalcruelty That is my Request.
+LUV Animals,Gaming,And More
I also cannot stand that people will euthanize a dog, just because nobody wanted to adopt them. After all, a life is a life, no matter who it belongs to. It's like if there was a child adoption center and nobody was adopting this one child for a long period of time. And that child has a broken arm. Are you going to euthanize that child? No! So why would you do that to dogs?
I 5,000000,0000,000,% agree! And Im also against them being lab rats.... it's so sad. cry like a baby at those types of videos 😭 Humans can be so cruel
Why would you put two perfectly friendly dogs down.
Gee i worked at a shelter that had a cat pass there since no one wanted her they never put down
i shouldn't have to say that i'm trying to avoid this kind of dog video, it's only because it makes me cry!
Can I have them please!
i love them
And well done to the lady that adopted them. She is great. If only more people could be like her
Look at those faces 😇
Any updates on this 2 sweeties??

terrific video i also want to know what happened to these precious loving animals a terrific story beginning middle and what is the end for these blessed dogs
Special thanks to Helen. If I were closer I’d be right next to you with her 💗💗
I want them ill take them!!!!! I wish I could take very animal in the world and some how take care of them all so they don't get out down. :( my mom when I little or maybe not ever born, she adopted a few puppy's from the animal shelter that were to get put down becasue she felt so bad for them.... There gone now of old age :( they were great dogs I just love pound pups there the best. But the rest of the pups.... They..... Wernt.... So lucky :(,
I wish this sweet lady would keep them both :)
Thank you - they are absolutely lovely. I suspect that beautiful Maisy’s neglect extended to letting her get hit by a car. You are an angel for giving these dogs a long-overdue break.
Thank you for saving these angels 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
why do shelters take in dogs if they can't care for them even if they are not adopted?
All shelters should be no kill shelters.
Bless you, Bless you, Bless you!
U r a saver by just recoreding these things,I luv animals and u
*UPDATE* Helen ended up adopting them! Maisy & Bear, enjoy your life with your new amazing mum!🤗🐶🐶💟
Yessssssssssssssssss
please tell me they were adopted together
Linda Ortado They were. She ended up adopting them. 🤗🐶🐶
Thank you so much for what you have done for those lovely dogs.
Please let us know if Maisy and Bear have finally found a forever home . There a many here who would like to have un update.
They r so adorable 😭 when I'm older, Im gonna go to the shelter and demand them to show me the dogs who r next in line for getting euthanized, and adopt two of them or more 😭😭😭
that's my goal to
Adopters are beautiful. These dogs are beautiful.
N'aww am so excited to see them get a home, whoever gets them should spoil them and take care of them, If I could get a dog(s) I would get these two and give them the best home/life I could. Whoever gets these should do the same, whoever done the neglect should be thrown in a cage like an animal because you'd have to be to do that to two natural beauties. God bless them and I hope they have a fantastic life with a bright future ahead of them.
You are an inspiration and the true definition of an Angel.god bless you and your 2 beautiful sweet babies.
They're so sweet, they need to be together...please someone truly good take them both home...best gift you'll ever receive.
PEOPLE, LET'S GET PUPPY MILLS ALL SHUT DOWN and those people pay for their crimes! I know puppy mills aren't exactly the issue here but they're the main "hemorrhage" source behind dog overpopulation.
Best to Maisy and Bear, love them.
thanks lady, i don't mind crying on such a happy occasion as knowing they will be ok. my sassy is a germ. shep/chow + A.P.B.T.. HER MOM WAS AN AWESOME Buldog/A.P.B.T. her dad's name was bear and her left ear is like maisy's and droops down a little just like her dads ear. thx.
They have a beautiful mama ❤️
GOD BLESS U BOTH !!!!...u literaly saved thier lives...I thank God...there r people like u both everyday...im praying they get thier furever home n r able to stay together..❤🐕🐾❤
I can't afford a shelter dog . I wish I could. It just kills me any dog needs help . I take care of 12 at this time
Wat a beautiful soul❤ ❌⭕❌⭕💐.
They will love you forever, wat matters is that they are loved and appreciated..
People don't know wat is to be loved until you are loved by a dog 🐶🐕❤...
I don't have dogs but my two felines came from the local shelter. I wouldn't think of going elsewhere. We don't rescue them. They save us. Adopt, you will be helping an animal but doing yourself a huge favor. Your best friend is waiting for you.
How sad, and yet...? Maisey was adopted 3 times and (apparently?) no one bothered to see why she had an injury? Or maybe the cost for surgery was exorbitant?
And Bear, such a sweet, loveable lug. How can people not see it?
OMG, what a weird coincidence. My last Pitbull of almost 18 years what is a red nose Staffordshire Terrier named bear who looks literally identical to this one, same eyes, same expression, same eyes, same face, same mannerisms. I swear I was looking at my little bear bear the only difference is that mine was slightly lighter. He was literally the best dog ever. I can't believe no one would take him for so long. God bless you!
