Till 2017-18 it was good but they degraded and i moved more into kpop. I was only for 5 to 6 grps but now m more in jpop kpop and many groups
It's not the ideal way to find out.. good music in India :/.. it's mostly based on the order of youtube/spotify count - that's why majority of somgs are party/pop songs.
Most of the songs are just for commercial purpose - and so much of them are remix. Not too much of depth.
Top-10 are still pretty good.
But yes - you should follow works of Armaan Malik, Jubin, Darshan Raval, Shreya, Arijit, Sonu, KK etc etc - whom you have already reacted. There are so many songs you have not yet reacted to it or published on the channel yet

Jubin is up there because he only do rendition of old songs with T series backing, that's why they have most views as T series have more reach(more than 200 million subscribers). More views doesn't justify the song is a good one.

Talking about Darshan Raval, he was the runner up on a reality tv show (shocking that he didn't win), which was all about independent artist. His audition clip really went viral, so much so, it was released as an original during the show. It's called "Pehli Mohabbat" literally meaning "First love", a very sweet song indeed. Soon after the show ended he got his Bollywood break, sung some really good tracks, but he was still mostly doing his independent stuff. Now it seems to have changed, maybe he's got more into Bollywood, idk, haven't been following much lately, but used to be his huge fan. He's really famous for his yearly monsoon tracks. His most famous indie pop song would be "Tera Zikr". You can find the translation online for both the songs mentioned.

Why do people request this? The song goes by quickly. And doesn't really has much scope of discussion. Full songs are fine but these compilations are just annoying. Also most of the songs are there because of views. But in reality they are shitty songs.

Jubin is undoubtedly talented, but a major factor behind his popularity is T-Series promoting him so that people forget and ignore the OG legend Sonu Nigam after he had a fallout with TSeries head Bhushan Kumar. Many songs that Sonu had sung, Bhushan got them re-recorded by other singers, and then he started promoting Jubin heavily when he realized he is getting popular.

I think you have gone for a generalized selection which is completely based on the preference of the current young generation. If you explore Indian music, spread out in different formats across different regions within the country, you would need one more lifetime. It's a big ocean to be explored and Bollywood, Sufi from Punjab ( Both India and Pakistan) that you follow are just few drops.
Guys, Indian music is not just Hindi/Bollywood. There are 100's of languages, solo artists, more regional songs. I hope you check more of them out.

Ok so to give you context why so many Jubin's songs are there, singers like Arijit, shreya, Sonu have become started their own labels and don't sing for t series that much. T series has some signed artists (jubin in this case) which they push too much into charts since it is the biggest channel in UA-cam now. So for the past year T series has been making these underwhelming singles(mostly remakes) with Jubin and hence his popularity shot up in pandemic.
And Sonu doesn't sing in bollywood anymore coz of the labels like T series having monopoly but still he has done enough work i think he doesn't need to do now he can do his own thing and still people will love him

Jubin is an OK singer backed by biggest music label in India TSeries. Most of his songs in this top 100 are either remix or remake of old HIT bollywood songs . He is not in league of Sonu Nigam , Shreya Ghosal, Arijeet etc.
the only songs I actually listen to from this list are the ones from Atrangi re and Shershaah. Commercial Bollywood music has been awful over the past few years. The South on the other hand, have been producing hits consistently

Jubin may be a wonderful vocalist but you guys should definitely check out the original versions to some of his biggest hits. A lot of them are by the legendary Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. He lost a lot my respect when he openly copied Bol Kaffara from Pakistan and then straight out refused to give any credit to the original creators. He literally said in an IG live that because he changed one word out of the chorus he’s not obliged to give any credit. He has so much potential to make great original music but when he stooped that low and copied without giving credit I was super disappointed. All he had to do was say that the song is inspired but he rudely refused to do that

Arijit Singh dominated Bollywood for almost a decade largest lifespan for a current era Bollywood singer. He won IIFA awards consecutively from 2013-2020 except once. Last year his mother died in the pandemic so he was doing social and humanitarian work. All of his songs in the list are from last three months from October. I am not surprised but amazed its in the list. This year his absence gave chance for other singers like jubin, darshan and stebin to dominate. He also composed the album (pagglait) and independent music ( rihaa) on his channel ORIYON MUSIC. Do check it out they are beautifully composed

The charts aren't the best way to find good music in India. India produces the highest number of movies per year, in the world. With all that yearly mass production, a lot of the music is pretty average, and the videos are a tad bit cringe IMHO. You could search for music by the decade. Or better yet, music per artist or actor/actress. That way, you'll have a more sophisticated selection :)

The thing with Jubin is that being backed by a big music label he has become a remake machine. He is remaking old songs from various artists left right and center. I feel it is getting very exhausting now, I mean with the voice that he has he should work new compositions and songs and not remakes.

Ok Jubin Nautiyal songs melody and style is quite similar to the songs from 2000s. Seeing so many songs of him in charts, for me it concludes that people still wants to listen to that decade's melody. There tons of new trendy songs or remakes which get highly popular on yt but in the end, people wants to put songs like 200s in their playlist....
There should be a chart of dance songs...songs which played on DJ most during celebrations, weddings etc. General public in more familiar with them

I'll prefer songs from Kr$na(best rapper lyrically), Divine(most famous probably), Emiway(most commercially successful), Brodha-V(still underrated), and Northeastern Rap(some of the best are from this part of country), Punjabi rap(one of the earliest regions to adopt hip-hop culture and taking it mainstream) etc.

Well the thing is "jubin" has been making remakes like hell in the past year and the quality(let's not talk about it)....and about Arijit he's been seen less for the past year compared to earlier years(also he's been doing more experiments with his music .... That's what his new songs came out to be...... You should check out some of the best albums of 2021 most of the songs in there are from those albums and some good music don't get that much view anyways( honestly a lot of songs with their videos are just cliche and cringy)
