The answer is obvious. Some traditions are good, others bad. But this is not something that follows for the mere sake of being a tradition. Traditions are not inherently reactive or beneficial, evil or good, they simply say it's a repeated cultural practice which the population identify as standing for something else (an event, a prelude/epilogue, a celebration...) Some traditions can be said to be bad, and should be dropped. Others not.

wow, how stupid of those college kids to die in a terrible and tragic accident... what a panel of geniuses. and Billy’s a smart guy, but I don’t think he’s got it right about Thanksgiving. not that there weren’t hundreds of years of fighting and death between the settlers/US and American Indians, but the story of Thanksgiving is actually quite wholesome, and pretty close to the version you learn in elementary school. and either way, modern Thanksgiving is not about celebrating something pilgrims and Indians did, it’s about celebrating friends and family and being thankful, and is certainly a tradition worth carrying forward.
