SO helpful as always Lisa! I have had this deck for ages and found it difficult to get into at all. Your comparison with RWS is inspired
The 3 of flames is about childbirth. The statue featured is a woman with a baby just emerging into the world. I think it works well as a metaphor for the hard work of creating. I really adore the imagery and history in this deck! Thanks for a lovely talk through.
About that Judgement/Renewal card. To me it looks like a feather, like the feather Maat uses to weigh against your soul/heart.
I gave in and bought this, I've been flirting with it for a while. I love the artwork. I feel like I could get lost in it for days. There's something about the intangibility that I really love, I think they are more open to intuitive reading. The oyster and pearl for the 9 of cups is genius. Probably my favourite 9 of cups ever.
I know that we are all here for the deck walkthrough (which I loved) but can I just say....wow to your tarot/table cloth!! LOVE it!!
I'm sort of the same about this deck. It's so beautiful to me and I love love love the art and ah. I just have never actually wanted to read with it because it does feel really abstract. I keep it to look at the art but I have a few like that. I just don't read with them but there are a few cards that are just stunninggg. I've considered using it as a weekly draw because the cards give me a feeling that I can't put into words so maybe it would be good for a weekly draw that I just kind of sit with and reflect on. See how that feeling comes up for me through the week.
One of my fav decks. It’s a a fantastic reader for me, but you can’t rush through it. And you have to read the book.
This deck is so abstract yet is on point. I feel such strong connections with this deck, even more than the classical version. Thanks for the amazing Review 👍
This was so interesting to watch, I've had this deck a long time and it's one that I keep putting aside to study but never seem to get to it. I love the artwork, but I'm curious to see how it'll work for me. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on it! ❤️
Margarete Peterson has been on my wishlist since FOREVER. Thanks for doing this walkthrough and first impressions. I love the Mediatrix card.
This is more like an expression of the meaning in terms of color and energy~ very nice and artistic! This might not be suitable for people who is new to tarot like me... But in the future i think i will buy this~
I actually ordered this deck based on your last video. I found the images intriguing and I have a feeling it will be more like a oracle deck for me. Now I’m curious about your replacement pick 🙂 There is an interesting write up about this deck on aeclectic.net it says the trick to reading with these cards is that you need to back away - to create a space between the cards and yourself - and allow the images to come to you. The longer you look at the cards, the more images you will see.
I just received this deck after ogling it for sooo long. I am so excited to dive in. I love reading intuitively or letting the deck make me /feel/ what it's message is, and I am hoping this deck does that for me. Thanks for the video!
Like a visit to a beautiful art gallery of abstract paintings - but as a tarot, umm, not so much. I do get a sort of shamanic feel to the deck.
That tarot cloth is gorgeous! 😍I also love your side by side comparison of the deck. I have had this deck for awhile, but never even looked too closely with it, but this makes me want to pull it out.
The trimmed deck looks great!
I have this deck -- I bought it after I realized that I was "liking" post after post after instagram post featuring it and I just had to -- but I haven't worked with it as much as I'd like as once it was in my hands I found it a bit intimidating. I think that I wasn't ready. But I think it's one of the most beautiful decks and your video reminds me that I need to get it out!!
The magic card looks stunning..
Thank you so much for this video, this is exactly what I needed to finally get my own deck. I Wanted to make sure I would resonate with the artwork before making the investment. Greetings from Dominican Republic!
I keep wanting to want this deck. I'm drawn to it but then I don't see Tarot in the Minors. I don't know what to do... I don't get much from the Minors at all, even if I were to trim the deck down to just the artwork. But I somehow still want to want it. Maybe working with it and the guidebook might make the difference. I dunno...
ahem... * adds to cart! 😂 * OMG I love this deck - it's been on my list for so long so thank you for sharing Lisa - you've enabled me 😂 🙏 Many blessings to you all Xxx
😘
very interesting deck, a lot of Georgia O'Keefe vibes.
I wonder why the Hanged Man in MP has the opposite leg crossed? Or did I see that wrong?
Yes, I wasn't connecting to the images either! I have the Dream Dust Shamanic tarot, and I have the same problem with that!
I think key 20 is a reiki symbol
I do really wish the rest of the minors had some of the more abstract figures like the majors .. I still love it though
Interesting deck! But i would need bigger cards or better eyesight!
Yessss my feelings exactly!
I have to agree, a little too abstract in the minor arcana.
Margarete Peterson's deck isn't really useful for spreads, I don't think. Like you said, they are suited for scrying into, or leaving just one card on an easel to look at for a day or three. You'd have to become very very familiar with them over time to be able to use them like you would use other decks. Maybe you should go with the idea of putting them on your walls like artworks rather than as tarot. Going very slow is the way for them to become tarot for you. They obviously don't like speed dating. ;^)
These are a scrying cards. They are all about visuals.
