I'm already looking forward to your reviews and your 2024 list big help in picking a 17.5 motor in a market that's flooded with a bunch of bs. Thanks for all the hard work man!!!!!!!
@wutupclegg6618 I know you buy your own motors, but if you have the chance a team exalt might be an interesting look the guys at my local hobby shop just started carrying them and said some of the guys at trinity started this brand.
StephenR on RCTech just tested the 17.5T of these Elite, 253W @ 50 deg. Top of their charts ahead of Motiv MC5 249w @ 50 deg, Team Powers Actinium V5 248W @42 deg, Hobbywing G4 244W @ 46 deg.
@@MX-CO Any one of Tekin, Motiv, Team Powers, Hobbywing will be excellent for 13.5T, 17.5T, 21.5T. Most use the same rotor and stator, and just change the number of windings. I noticed there's some new motors on the ROAR approved list like the Hobbywing V10 G4R 21.5 and Team Powers Actinium V5S 21.5 (I can't find this anywhere yet).
@@wutupclegg6618 got my motor and raced my car Friday night. And it is exactly as what you described. Thanks dude. Great data. Seems like a powerful motor. Would you be able to make a video testing each of the motors out in a 2wd with a good driver to compare the differences on-track? Would be even more awesome. 🙂
That is a thought, but everyone has a different driving style and different motor will work best on different tracks. I'm working on a gadget that will help narrow things down more.
@@wutupclegg6618Definitely agree re:driving styles and tracks. even though you and I believe in this type of scientific approach you also acknowledge that there are different ways to interpret the same data. I think if you give people that context and explain where each motor has strengths and weaknesses that this is as much about education as it is about buying what is the 'best' motor for us that people will appreciate this. Anyways, thanks again for all your work.
@@grantoverend1 I have found that small twisty tracks like the slower torquey motors. In this hobby, I have learned to never state something without, first, mentioning that it is a personal opinion. LOL...
Hello Hooked. The biggest difference is, the Pro has a stronger rotor. This will give more torque, but lower RPM. They state the Pro has a handpicked rotor and sensor board, but you will only notice a difference with the stronger rotor.
So the pro the same 2782 rotor as the elite but “hand picked” to have slightly more strength than an Elite that ends up with a random production 2782 rotor?
That is correct. The same goes with all the other brands that have Pro/Certified versions and spec versions. They will pull the best parts for their pro/certifies versions. Check out my videos on the Trinity Slot Machines. One is a $110 spec motor, and the other is a Certified $160 motor. I go over the differences.
What surface are you racing on? Even though you're a rooking, having the best motor is still a good thing. You just tune it to your comfort level and it will allow you to advance quickly. From all the ones I tested, I have heard the most positive reviews on the Surpass V6 Stock Spec. In fact, I haven't heard any bad feedback about them. However, the other motors, in my tests, are very good. Second, I would choose the Tekin G4 R2 Elite. Then again, it does depend on the surface you are racing on.
@wutupclegg6618 Thanks our local track is Hard Clay indoors. It's called Whip it Raceway ( there are UA-cam videos of it) I was leaning towards hobbywing motor and speed control (I need both) but I'm open to suggestions. I also need a shorty lipo 2s

Tekin came out with a really good motor this year. My personal opinion is, it's in the top 3, for sure.
What do you think is the top 13.5t this year?

which battery
That's a loaded question. It depends on your budget. Mostly, look for an LCG HV battery with at least 4500mah.
