Joe you're the only reviewer who mentioned the fact that this headset (whole G Pro X series maybe?) disables Windows spatial sound (Sonic/Atmos/DTS). Upon investigating this it appears to be a years old issue with the Logitech audio driver and/or G Hub software. People have been complaining about it for years you can see on Reddit and elsewhere. This is a dealbreaker for many people because they buy licenses for Atmos/DTS and expect to be able to use them. Windows spatial sound is an OS level function that should work with all headsets. I've never seen any other headset have this weird problem. There is a workaround by uninstalling the Logitech audio driver/G Hub and then installing the basic Microsoft audio driver, which will enable you to use the Windows spatial sound. However then you lose all functionality of G Hub so it's really not a good solution. Logitech needs to fix this. Please reach out to them about this very annoying issue. Maybe they will finally do something about it if you do.

I want to say something about this that I haven't seen anyone say yet. I'm planning on getting a new headset soon, and I am a PC user. The primary use-case for simultaneous bluetooth (if this had it) would be to play on Nintendo Switch connected with bluetooth to the headset wirelessly, and to my primary monitor via HDMI, while also hearing my discord chat and whatever else I want to use my secondary PC monitor for. The somewhat overlooked addition of the auxillary input on the dongle allows me to do this regardless. I can connect the Nintendo Switch auxillary audio output on the top of the Switch handset to the dongle plugged into my PC. The only other meaningful use-case for simultaneous bluetooth (for me personally) would be to take a call from my girlfriend while in a game like League of Legends that cannot just be paused. But honestly it isn't that much worse to just switch to bluetooth while I take the call, and lose game audio for that duration, and then switch back once I am done on the phone. The primary competitor to this headset in my opinion is the Arctis Nova 7. Similar price point and many of the same features. In my opinion the only way that this headset loses is the simultaneous bluetooth feature. Now, if the little auxillary port on the dongle did not exist, it would not even be close. I would not consider this headset over the Arctis for even a moment. But the fact that it does exist makes it somewhat competitive still for my situation. Just thought that was worth saying. If Logitech re-released this headset again with simultaneous bluetooth then I think this headset would beat everything else wireless right now, especially for the price.

It works, but its a pain in the ass when windows updates. I have to re-add it again after some windows updates but once you set it up, you don't have to do it otherwise. Q: Like others asked, I'm curious if they fixed the background static noise? When searching for a wireless headset I initially bought these (the previous version) but the static background noise is extremely loud/horrible (if you have good hearing). Returned & replaced it with the nova pro wireless, which made me discover your channel for EQ's :). Those have other, lesser drawbacks for me, but there is no better alternative. Not happy with the software & the basestation. Dac functionality is useless witouth being able to control aux volume (to connect external speakers). & the dac now often resets itself on pc boot. & The plastic build scares me for longevity, especially since it costs the same as a good audiophile headset that would last 10+years.
You answered your own question. I am interested in Logitech which is why I'm here but Audiophile is the answer. Why are you still looking at gaming headsets? They are all junk. Go get a Beyerdynamics, Audiotechnica, or Sennheiser. I got a Beyerdynamics DT 700 pro, the 900 and 990 replacement. They are incredible, soundstage better than any "gaming" headset. Also got to remember the product came out 7 hours ago today, these early reviewers were sent the product by Logitech. Wait a week for some good reviews.

@@theOGabcduong HyperX Cloud Orbit S is one of the worst ones I've ever owned. It's not the maxwell, it's the previous version but I'll stay far away from them
I want to like this headset for console! More Lightweight and comfortable than the Astros which were king in terms of comfort for me. Leather ear pads are too sticky/hot so the free cloth pads are very welcomed. Edit - EQ presets do not carry over to PS5/Console. A standardised flat stereo sound setting is used.
Great review! Two things - I'd have liked to have seen a comparison with the original Pro X and also with the Ice Cube mic... to see if that made a difference. The X2, basically, has the functionality that the original should have had: The bluetooth and aux connectivity. I feel that the original was let down badly by the lack of both - it precluded using it as a general headset for other applications... something its cheaper brother, the Pro, could do due to it being wired. I've only just found the original - but already I think I've found my new go-to headset - not least because it's kinder on my large head, but also because it's so well built. I think that the X2 may tempt me away though, when they come down in price. I'm in no rush.... I'm happy with my X until then.
I have a large head, always need to max out the extension just got the X2 it's very comfortable, enough that even if its a bit weak in other areas I could see wearing this one for longer periods of time.
Also DTS:X in G Hub for the G Pro X 2 headset is completely broken it seems. Only the Front Left and Front Right channels are outputting sound. Very easy to test this in G Hub.
I have no idea why all these companies are so hell bent on not having both bluetooth and 2.4 at the same time is beyond me. Stealth pro Nova pro Penrose 700 gen 2 even the LX 50 older headsets to a degree has that feature. New razor Blackshark Maxwell Kaira Pro Ps5 and countless others omit this feature and these arent cheap headsets. The penrose wasnt perfect but its still my favorite gaming headset and the sound overrides some of its short comings. Put some wicked cushions on them and u still have one of the best gaming headsets on the market period.
I guess I will be sticking with my g pro wireless headset. I was really hoping logitech would upgrade the mic a bit to get up there with the Corsair ones.
S tier review, so comprehensive, covered everything I was trying to discover and more about the sidetone and profiles that other reviews only bushed over at best, has helped me decide to invest in these, keep up the good work!
@@1HiddenDay Hey, not yet, I hesitated after seeing some other reviews that said they werent great for competitive shooters, so have been doing more research on other models, but in the end ive decided I'm not really a hardcore pro FPSer like those guys so it doesnt really matter much to me as much as comfort and general sound quailty, plus I have other logitech gear so it fits in with having the logitech software as well, I plan now to pick them up in Januray sales just incase they come down in price, also a little gem I found out on some tech channel with prawn its name, is that you can swap the mic here with the 2023 razor one that everyone raves about and it still works including with the logitech software, so when Razor start selling that 2023 replacement mic im gonna get one for this, but as yet they dont and it has to be the 2023 version, not the 2020 version. Sorry I couldnt help more yet.
@@sonofsomerset1695 Ah i see, i picked up the arctis nova 7 and i don't know how to feel about them. I feel like all the features are lost on it as i need to have steelseries gg/sonar off for them to not sound muffled. I hoped the logitechs would be better for fps'es.
Do you find the headset worth purchasing if one plans to use the velour ear pads? I was curious if you ever found an eq that lifted the bass while using velour ear pads without ruining the sound overall
Thank you for this really great review and other reviews as well, they are just awesome! I'm thinking of buying these headsets since I want to get rid of my table mic that i got for a couple of years. I'm just sick of the arm always in front of me while gaming. My setup today is a pair of Beyerdynamics DT 770 pro and a blue yeti. My only disappointment is the mic from the Logitech headset, I would assume it was much better but its sad that it was this bad. I really hoped for more. My question is do you think that chaning the mic to a blue icepop would enhance the headset even more.. But also the price for it would be close to $300. I have also been looking at the razor blackshark v2 2023. What are your thoughts? It would be really cool if you could make a review of the blue icepop mic :D
probably the best review ive seen went beyond jsut a review gave me ever ounce of info i was looking for. especially the driver tech. also.. i have the pro x 1 and i have about 8 EQ frequencies i cant mess with and i only saw 4? on this one
Hey man, great review! I got a question: I'm looking for a headset that has both great sound quality for video editing & gaming and Bluetooth so it can connect to a MacBook. Would you recommend this Logitech headset, or any other headset?
I just got the Pro X2 today and I concur, it definitely has great low and mids but highs are awful. The fact that the software folks at Logitech didn't give us more EQ settings is absolutely ridiculous. That said, I installed the Steelseries Sonar and messing with the settings has made a huge difference, but it still needs a little more tuning. With the Pro X2 and Steelseries Sonar, could you do an EQ setting recommendation to balance everything out?
You mentioned on your video that this headset supports the PS5 3D audio. However on the Logitechs website it advertises wireless stereo only for consoles. Did you actually try these headphones on a PS5 to confirm this? If 3D audio is supported, how does it compare to the Inzone H9 or similar PS5 headsets?
i got mine today i love em. the mic quality isn’t as bad because i got it set up through a go xlr mini but man i’m facing a problem right now with it picking up the game audio no matter what after i adjust the game volume, the mic threshold and noise gate.
I really like this headset but I have issues with it disconnecting and reconnecting a couple of times per hour. I've done a lot of troubleshooting, even got a new pair and still the same issue. Very sad.
i wish more people would mention sound stage when they make a headset review.. how good is it on the X2 Pro? still deciding on the Logitech or Turtle Beach Stealth Pro.
The mic is really bad for the headset price target. Enabling blue voice improves the situation, but you can hear clearly that the sound is very processed...
Oh man I don’t wanna end up getting the new razer v2 bc I don’t want another software. I just purchased Logitech pro x 1 last week. And I’m thinking of returning for a different headset
Best channel on UA-cam I notice a lot of Channels talking about your content I love them I’m watching using my turtle bsp I would love some more eqs on that
Hey joe , RAMBO here great review as always, mate could you please tell me which headset are louder the Astro a30 or the new Logitech Gpro x 2?? Thanks mate
Thanks for the review. However, is it possible that you include information on whether people report durability issues with the previous generations? Most reviews sorely lack information on how often a headset breaks and whether the company has any reasonable policy when it comes to returns. I am currently looking for a replacement for my CoolerMaster MH670, which despite having all the features I could want at that price range, breaks constantly. I am on my 3rd pair and I can't be bothered replacing it once again. Please consider doing some minor research into models/companies and providing more information in that regard. Thank you.
I have the 1st gen proX wireless, and the headband broke after about a year of using them 5x/week for about 3-4 hours each time. However, Logitech support was great and replaced them with a brand new set immediately. The experience was good enough that I’ll definitely be picking up the new gen when these go - which they are showing no signs of trouble after about another 1.5 years of heavy use.
Great review! Which one would you choose? Logitech G Pro X 2, Arctis Nova 7, or HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless? Don't take price into account. Thank you very much!
Glad I switched to Steelseries Arctis nova 7 instead of waiting for this. Onboard EQ and simultanous Bluetooth is a must at this price.... real bummer because I loved the fit of my G pro X wireless, but the compatibilty and adjustability of sound wasnt enough
First of all I appreciate the level of effort you put into this video. 👌🏻. Second, do you know if the audio issues (low volume) are fixed in this generation? The older headset you needed to disable features, breaking GHub, just to make it louder. Is the audio comparable to the Astro A50’s using Optical audio? Would love to try these but I hated the last gen. Thanks!
Great video! Probably getting these for 199$ now! I prioritize great comfort and sound over great mic, so think these will fit me over the blackshark v2 pro's.. not sure though. Do you find these more comfortable than the blackshark v2s? and would you prefer these over the blaskshark v2 pros for all round usecase? Like playing a lot of cs2, but also watching youtube, movies and listening to music?
I tested both of them. I think the sound of the Logitech ist better for gaming. I was able to pinpoint enemy movements pretty damn good! The Blackshark v2 was way better for music in general and especially with high quality music (24 bit, high res 196 KHz). The loudness was great on both headsets, didn't had any problems with that (because it was mentioned in the video). So for Gaming Logitech has the better sound by far. For Music its clearly the Blackshark v2. However, the mic on the Logitech was so horribly bad, i felt pretty bad for my friends who didn't even understood me sometimes and it is just pitful. A real pain and thats why i kept the blackshark v2 pro 2023 over the Logitech Pro x v2 lightspeed. The Mic on the blackshark v2 pro 2023 is pretty damn good for a headset. I used to have a Rode NT1A and a Scarlet 2i2 3rd gen audio interface, paired with a headset but my audio interface died a few days ago and i decided i want to buy a wireless headset, because of the cable hell i was confronted with every day^^ I gotta admit, that i tested it only on a pc tho and didn't experience those 2 headsets on consoles.
Bought these today , seemed like one of the best headsets on the market now , only gaming competition was razer blackshark v2 2023 and arctis nova pro , Bought them today. I was bit skeptical because half of the reviews were that surround sound was shit , but other than that it was great . Here is my review : Bought them, plugged the dongle in , updated the firmware. The circle for volume stopped increasing or decreasing sound. didn't work at all. Tried google , solution was switch USB ports or reinstall , no help. Installed old firmware back , Updated sound drivers and all drivers , then , stopped working , ghub says connecting, but they cannot even connect now. Complete dogshit. For anyone who wants to buy, don't buy these please , software is shit and can mess up headphones quite a bit . Pick something bit older , not 2 months old like me.
I think thats just a you issue Ive had mine for over a week at this point and none of these issues popped up. I got them home installed everything and it works just fine so its something that is going wrong on your end.
@@Dengen88 hmm idk, I hope that's the case, but found several posts for that, and since there was so much trouble, + I play fps games, and this headphones are fps- no go, I returned them. For me as an fps player, sound + surround sound ( even when I played with equalizer and reddit tips for an hour, it was just terrible) were very bad quality compared to my wired old hyperx Alpha , I returned them and plan trying the new razer black shark, I got my hopes up , if it doesn't go well, I plan to stick to wired probably.
@gadgetryTech So I am down to the Logitech G Pro X2/Cloud 2 Wireless/Arctis Nova 7. Which of these would you choose for non competitive immersive games? Thanks in advance!
I use the aux on the dongle to play my xbox game sound through the headset on my g933's and the lack of that input is why I haven't upgraded a headset in 6 years
i think you can connect the nintendo switch to the dongle with the 3.5mm jack, plug the dongle to the pc and boom you got pc and switch audio coming in from one device (that's what i do with the nova pro wireless, *with an aux cable* ). if only bt was simultaneous, then you could have 3 sources coming in.
@@BlastPKMN i haven't checked the price of pro x 2 but i'd recommend nova pro wireless, if it checks your other boxes. it has 2 usb inputs (only 1 active at the same time, you can switch back and forth) and +1 input with aux (to the dock, simultaneous) + 1 bt (also simultaneous) is quite nice.
@@onatgz I currently have a G Pro X headset and I really enjoy the build quality and comfort. Id prefer to stick to Logitech. The GPX Pro 2 Lightspeed is $250 I believe
@@BlastPKMN yeah i can respect that. sometimes tried and true is the best, even though there's a chance that you might be wrong. shit's expensive and sometimes it's better not to risk it for a potential gain, especially if it's a marginal one.
@@onatgz very true. I like to try different brands and I am not a very brand loyal person, but Logitech makes good stuff so if I do buy it and it doesn't impress me I may move into another brand
Love that the lightspeed connection has such a long range. Is the bt range shorter? Does using lightspeed vs bt make a difference in reliability of the sound or the rate it runs down the charge? My current headset sounds great and is reliable but the bt connection has a short range and for me the noise cancelling is too much. I like being able to hear other noise in case a knock on the door or call on house phone so those fabric ear cups on the G Pro X2 seem perfect for me. Mine runs out of charge after 6 hours too.
The 3.5mm input on the adapter is a HUGE feature. There are very few wireless headsets that allow a streamer to connect a mixer to a wireless base station/dongle. However, if it's true that it's only 80% of the volume, then that's a deal breaker. Can you confirm that there isn't a setting somewhere that you can make this input 100% volume?
At the time of this review there is nothing in the software to adjust or modify that aux signal. It may change down the road but unfortunately you can't change it yet.
Yep! It's a killer feature for me. I use it as a music input from instruments, so I can live monitor wireless. Yeah it's niche, but it's really perfect. I'm using the Logitech G933 which has the same jack.

@@GadgetryTech I don’t think about mic but when G Pro X 1st gen were turned on they were little noisy if nothing were playing and it was really annoying.
man it's almost sad how bad the mic is on this headset, and the weird crackle/pinging it has with the blue voice thing enabled, what the heck is happening there?
There's a lot of compression with the headset and whenever you switch mic profiles, it sets the gain boost to 100% which is too strong. If you dial those back to about 70 and lower the compressor setting, the pops go away. I just wanted to demonstrate both ends of the spectrum
It would certainly be louder and have more control! If you're spending that much to turn this into a wired headset though, I'd consider a headset designed to be wired like that.
coming from blackshark v2 pro update, the microphone in this headset and others is unacceptable and kinda makes the Blackshark an easy buy in the @200-250 range considering they are less than the competitiors.

There is no hiss in the microphone. If sidetone is above 55 and the mic is active, there is a faint hiss that slowly increases to a fairly loud hiss if the side tone is set to 100%. Otherwise if side tone is set to 50 or below, there is no hiss no matter what. I thought I said that in the review but I may have cut that part off in editing. Sorry!

@@krezen3588 you should have got the Audeze Maxwell 💀
Very easy to test this in G Hub.
awesome, informative and funny review, brother. thank you, liked and subscribed!
How would you compare the imaging to something like the Audeze Maxwell?
Always deliver the best reviews! Thank you!!
Just an FYI, A firmware update was just released for this headset that I believe allows EQ settings to be saved to the headset.
Does it save mic settings too?
I guess I will be sticking with my g pro wireless headset. I was really hoping logitech would upgrade the mic a bit to get up there with the Corsair ones.
The lack of Windows spatial audio (Sonic/Atmos/DTS:X) support is a dealbreaker. Logitech needs to fix this.
S tier review, so comprehensive, covered everything I was trying to discover and more about the sidetone and profiles that other reviews only bushed over at best, has helped me decide to invest in these, keep up the good work!
Did you end up getting this headset? If yes, how do you like it so far? Thanks!
@@sonofsomerset1695 were you able to buy tge mic ? Was there an improvement in mic quality?
Subbed for respecting our time plus nice video.
It feels like a lot of the shortcomings are software-based, and could be fixed. Hopefully, they do.
Undecided between this Logitech and the Stealth Pro for my PS5. Mostly playing GT7 and COD. Which one would you go for?
probably the best review ive seen went beyond jsut a review gave me ever ounce of info i was looking for. especially the driver tech. also.. i have the pro x 1 and i have about 8 EQ frequencies i cant mess with and i only saw 4? on this one
Which would be better the Steelseries Nova Pro Wireless or the Logitech gpro X2
Nova pro wireless is like 150 usd extra in my country... Also nova pro has an even worse mic than the g pro x 2. Id save money and get Logitech.
Sonar works with the Logitech headset?
@@riekopo7638 should work with all headsets and its great!
I do think the Razer blackshark V2 pro 2023 model improved vastly compared to the original compared to Logitech who only improved their driver.
I was really hoping that they make a small usb c dongle for this model. Like the one Razer has with their 2022 Barracuda.

Incredible review yet again!
Thank you!
which one is the best? this one or razer blackshark v2 pro 2023?
Great review, well done 👍🏼
Love your reviews! How does the LG compare to the competition? Have a maxwell myself but the comfort is an issue so looking at alternatives.
Great review! Which one would you choose? Logitech G Pro X 2, Arctis Nova 7, or HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless? Don't take price into account. Thank you very much!
I'd like to add that it was designed to break where the earcups rotate in about 2 years.
I used to have a Rode NT1A and a Scarlet 2i2 3rd gen audio interface, paired with a headset but my audio interface died a few days ago and i decided i want to buy a wireless headset, because of the cable hell i was confronted with every day^^
I gotta admit, that i tested it only on a pc tho and didn't experience those 2 headsets on consoles.
Hello, can you confirm that the ear clips are now metal and not plastic like the first model? Thanks
Great detailed review! Could someone tell me how wide the headband is?
Bought these today , seemed like one of the best headsets on the market now , only gaming competition was razer blackshark v2 2023 and arctis nova pro , Bought them today.
I was bit skeptical because half of the reviews were that surround sound was shit , but other than that it was great .
Here is my review :
Bought them, plugged the dongle in , updated the firmware.
I use the aux on the dongle to play my xbox game sound through the headset on my g933's and the lack of that input is why I haven't upgraded a headset in 6 years
Hey great review. For PS5 do you advise this or SS Arctic Nova 7P/X. I play mostly story-based games (Uncharted, Spiderman, RDR2, The Last of Us etc)
Cant wait to see the eq video.
Hi Joe, at the 26:30 mark are you referring to the sound out of the box or the sound after being eq’d? Thanks
i think you can connect the nintendo switch to the dongle with the 3.5mm jack, plug the dongle to the pc and boom you got pc and switch audio coming in from one device (that's what i do with the nova pro wireless, *with an aux cable* ). if only bt was simultaneous, then you could have 3 sources coming in.
This is the sole reason I'm considering this headset
@@BlastPKMN i haven't checked the price of pro x 2 but i'd recommend nova pro wireless, if it checks your other boxes. it has 2 usb inputs (only 1 active at the same time, you can switch back and forth) and +1 input with aux (to the dock, simultaneous) + 1 bt (also simultaneous) is quite nice.

Now it has a much better microphone quality and also onboard memory!
Having a hard time deciding between this and the MMX 200. What has a better sound in your opinion?
@@GadgetryTech that's sad. I was about to click the "place order" button as you were talking about the input. Thanks for the reply.
Yep! It's a killer feature for me. I use it as a music input from instruments, so I can live monitor wireless. Yeah it's niche, but it's really perfect. I'm using the Logitech G933 which has the same jack.
Now I need a GX Pro 2 vs Turtle Beach Stealth Pro video

There is no hiss in the microphone. If sidetone is above 55 and the mic is active, there is a faint hiss that slowly increases to a fairly loud hiss if the side tone is set to 100%. Otherwise if side tone is set to 50 or below, there is no hiss no matter what. I thought I said that in the review but I may have cut that part off in editing. Sorry!
@@GadgetryTech ah ok, thanks for the reply, solid video btw 👍
Currently this and Nova pro are same price here. Would like to get this for the comfort, but if there is not enough volume then it's no use to me.
Surprised to see there is no comparison section while other reviews have it?
I’m confused, the original G Pro Headset gives me a 10 band EQ in G Hub if I press “Advanced EQ”. They GIMPED the eq for the updated headset?? Why??
