@TheRealSupraVision I use the app all the time on my GC7. I will no accept a dac in 2024 (nearly 2025) that doesn't have an app. That's a downgrade imo.
@@TheQuickyouknow So you basically don't understand why you buy a dac. Having everything going through the board itself is way more quality than software way to manage the sound. So music oriented app are crazy with those filters into their dac.

I'm liking the G8 so far but I just have one issue with it... If I want to use 'Optical In' (PC to AmpDac) for my headset and stereo speakers it only seems to work if I plug the USB1/DC into an outside power source (like my surge protector) instead of the PC, but this makes it so 'Device USB-1' is not available and so I have no Creative App options (physical buttons on the AmpDac still work though). If I plug the USB1/DC into the PC then of course I have 'Device USB-1' available and all my Creative App options are there, but then Optical doesn't work. I always have USB-2 plugged into the PC so that I can use my headset mic.
Hi GadgetryTech, did you try to spin the knob from 40% to 0% while listening to music/game sound? With my G8 there is a huge decrease in volume when the knob is around 15% (100% windows volume). Does it work on xbox? I want headphones/mic, dac/amp on my xbox!!!! hahahah
I have always hated creative’s software, click on one thing and it turns on things you don’t want on.
Got balance?
It’s a gaming dac, no gaming headset is even going to have a 4.4mm or xlr so it’s pointless to have balanced, plus like he stated the X5 has balanced.
No mute button and no power button are major f***-ups, and a hard pass for me.
why do dac amps cost so much, does the quality of a dac even matter?
