Great job Kaulin! Your Dad keeps putting you in precarious positions! That's not a road, it's a sidehill! The wrecker is so Boss!
Jake says we have no communication... so I have said it before... say it again... Headset communication like FabRats... Great recovery 🙂
It is cold when Matt wear jacket.
Whut? It was only -7°C, basically bathing weather. 🤷🏊♂️
Snap
@@morilot Idk looks windy and theyre higher up so probably feels much colder up there
Damn you beat me to saying this. 😂😂😂
I didn't know Matt even had a jacket.
I haven't been four wheeling since I was in my early twenties. I'm now 69. And I no longer own a legitimate four-wheel drive. But I get such a kick out of washing your show. I happened to find your show on UA-cam while recovering from a broken foot. I love the banter between all of you and and it looks like you're all having a great time.
Nice job!! I'm glad that wasn't me on that side hill!!! Up and down is one thing but side hills.. NO THANKS!!
I had my little 68 Corolla out on the trails one day...had one of those side hills show up....and it was freshly graded and loose...Floored it and drifted sideways across it, front end pointed at the sky, back end pointed at the creek below. Made it across, up and out....hah...and there was nowhere else to go...had to do it again the other way. But I had to nose down the hill first, then spin it around facing up again...
MATT!!! After your bout with bronchitis, I am very happy to see you wearing a heavy hoodie on an Arctic day. Also, some headphone and boom mic communications would be helpful. Maybe a set in each recovery vehicle?
Damn. It must be cold. Matt is bundled up
He lives in southern utah, so “cold” is pretty relative 😂
He'd been sick, threw off his body, it was using extra energy to make white blood cells and replace whatever the infection was killing off.
Anyone knows katelyns first video?
@@spencercroft1839 We've seen plenty of videos of Matt standing up to his knees in snow while wearing a short sleeved shirt, he normally does not feel the cold 🤣
He is also still getting over being sick too
That is the exact same spot FABRATS recovered a rig from a few weeks ago. I am 1000% percent positive!
sure looks like it..
I was going to say that I've seen this before, somewhere on another channel. Now I remember.
yup it 100% is. Pauls recovery they didn't go as far down the path but were way off trail. pretty sure they went down the side of the hill to hit the trail in the same spot too
Yup same place
I love your family of Matts offroad recovery. Never a complaint from anyone. It's just a great atmosphere ,I can't get enough. God bless your team 🙏. I wish I could hang out one day. Love you all ❤.
13:23 - “Why am I holding this like I’m gonna stop the truck if he goes?” 😂😂😂
He was just saving wear and tear by not letting it drag. Good job.
man that's one sketchy road you guys did an excellent job getting that truck down 👍.
Sheesh. Not again. These steep side-hill tip and slips give me the willies. Nice work!
I was leaning over to help.HA
@@loosemoose9799 I caught myself doing the same.
It’s kinda crazy the lessons you learn from watching this. Matt was explaining something that didn’t make much sense until I seen it in action. Thanks fellas!
I love the wrecker so much! The body style the rear steering those big knobby tires and it’s just such a freaking beast! It’s so hard to really tell how steep this is. There’s certain spots in the video you can really see the steepness but I still don’t think it’s doing it justice. Nice job boys!
The reality is always MUCH steeper than what the camera shows.
I wish they had used their angle finder app.
110 scale radio controlled model wrecker for the win ~ Matt MAKE it happen!!
As always matt and the crew made this look like a simple recovery when in reality over half the people here wouldn’t have been able to recover it without damage and so on so forth like Matt and the crew did great job guys and can’t wait to see you at the off-road games
none of us could even figure out which way to pull it. The talent is unreal
I think you worded your sarcasm wrong 😂
@@ginger_nosoul love your astute comment.
They made it look simple? Nah mate, this did not look simple in any way or form. If anything it looks more scarry then most of their recoverys.
The camera angle was tilted to make it look worse than it was. When Matt was standing, it showed him leaning back about 10 degrees. Just keep it real guys.
Cool recovery. Now turn the camera 20° back to level.
11:00 why tilt the camera when you can clearly see the horizon line ?
That horizon line is a mountain range and might not be level
@@cheiflongshanks it is if the cloud line is parallel to it..
@@cheiflongshanks gravity must not work the same there as it does everywhere else. Everyone is standing at an angle
To make it look more steep which they didnt have to do kind of lame.
The clouds are not level.......😂
Its just yt ps to farm Klicks @jaxxrr
Ooooh...like how the roof of the wrecker letterboxes the image for that VistaVision look (15:36), "Once Upon a Time in the West" styling! Nice job, Jake.
The Off-road Wrecker, Matt’s 30 years of experience and a son with the MORR genes made this recovery possible. But - damn! - I kept picturing that red truck going over and dragging the Off-road Wrecker with it. I might have broken my personal best time for holding my breath!
Well doe!
I dont think that truck has the ability to drag the wrecker lol. Its so freaking heavy. Its on 52s
@@KarstRatstundras ain't light... right situation on crumbly rocky terrain.. it definitely could.
Kaulin did fantastic. When and IF Matt ever retires, these kids will do a great job
Yeah. Its a joke . . .
Excellent technical recovery. Great advice "If you don't feel me bossing you around, you're driving too fast." Perfect way to describe the delicate tension that he was looking for.
That's probably top 5 sketchiest recoveries I've seen. That's a 9.5 on the pucker scale. another great job
3:24 Looks like it’s time to build the worlds best off-road grader.
So a dozer?
@ I guess. But I wanted big tires and stuff, lol.
7:03 The good ole "Dad tax." We've had that one at our house for years! Lol. And I think Paul did a recovery in this exact same spot just a few weeks ago!
I was thinking the same thing!
Yep! I went and looked at Paul's channel!
That has to be the same road!
A lot of us all have the same list of channels ✓
@@lonnieshull88 that was the customer's cracker's right ?
I drive a Tundra and I am thankful that you all saved a fellow Tundra owner from disaster.
I come back to this channel time after time. Offroad rescues is not really my thing, but I love the vibe you have. Virtually every other channel sells on exagerations, nudity, catastrofic failures etc. Here is just a lot of care and concideration ❤.
He exaggerates with the best of them. It's got worse with his son and that Lizzie replacement. I unsubbed due to the pretentious presenting.
What recovery channels resort to nudity? Asking for a friend.
@@graememckay9972Not recovery channel.... you tube channel 😂😅
Just a thought for future reference ......... set the e-brake to skid the rear tires uphill while still being able to steer the fronts uphill as well without them skidding .
The tilted camera annoys me. You can even see it lerp from one side to the other at 7:39, which suggests this was done in editing. The situation is precarious; we can see that without the additional camera tilt. That said, I love the channel. Thanks for doing what you do!
I agree...it bothers me when you see the horizon at an angle at times, people and trees leaning....etc. Like you said...I love the channel, no need to exaggerate the angle.
Geez this video made me a nervous wreck. It's just like those rescues you guys do at the radio tower way up on a mountain. Kaulin is a rock star. Calm cool and collected just like his dad. Matt you have a son there to be proud of. He keeps getting better and better all the time. I think that rescue would even make Rory a little bit nervous. Lol
I just saw Casey on a recovery with Paul Cox. Cool.
That rear steer has came in handy SO many times ! Good call on installing that . 💪
Isn't that the same exact spot as where Paul rescued a truck in his "Christmas Tree Search GONE WRONG" video? Like, the EXACT same spot? Cool place!
It looks an awful lot like the same road
I was thinking the exact same but most of that country looks the same 😅
I just commented the same thing, I'm pretty sure it is.
Ohhhh, yeah, that must be right. I was sure I’d seen this exact spot recently! All along I was thinking “weren’t they just here a few weeks ago??”
Glad i wasnt the only one that was convinced it was the same place
That spot looks awefully familar - I think Paul (Fab Rats) did a recovery at this insanely banked road a few weeks ago. That driver wasn't so lucky and took a ride down the side - but his truck didn't get damaged much so with a bit of winching it was able tor drive out. 😎🤘
CUPHOLDERS. You need swivel cupholders used in sailboats for your vehicles.
I mounted one from ram mount on a motorcycle that I rode across the country. Worked great
Boy that got bad the closer you got to the truck and then it was closer to impossible!!! Even on the video it look next to impossible!! Man part of me was biting the couch I was sitting on! I was helping as much as I could moving around on the couch, that recovery was a seat biter! Thanks for taking us along.
Great job rescuing that Tundra. I'm not sure why you don't have at least 3 sets of VOX headsets in every recovery rig. It would make your communication so much easier and the recoveries safer.
When dealing with a beam that is nearly parallel to a surface, it is sometimes more useful to refer to the angle between the beam and the surface tangent, rather than that between the beam and the surface normal. The 90-degree complement to the angle of incidence is called the grazing angle or glancing angle. Once they are aligned, it is just a normal tow job, 👍
Man that was sketchy, but as usual Matt makes it look easy! Great driving Kaulin! Jake is such a fun person to have on the team!
Matt you must surely be the best off road rescue service out there. You really can read the terrain!
2:16 I didn't realise I was living in the lower 48. Matt, I think the only place you will be sleeping under the pin is in your own tent, luckily for you there will be no trees there, so none of our most deadly wildlife, Drop Bears.
Maybe no Drop Bears but plenty of sand. Matt and his crew might be able to do some recoveries outback. Just a short trip into Alice Springs for supplies.
My best friends cousins uncle was killed by a Drop Bear. Gotta be careful in the lower lower 48!
Matt, you are an amazing dad/boss! Such great composure and directions that helped Kaulin get ‘er done! Or was Katlin’s composure that helped his dad! Great video team!
That angled footage though, it was impressive enough with that
Glad to see you guys keep growing......your GREAT PEOPLE .....THE WHOLE TEAM ESPECIALLY THE A TEAM......FAMILY FAMILY
Couldn't believe my eyes either, Matt's wearing something warm with sleeves. Real red letter day!
I agree with Matt, somebody needs to get a dozer on that road and take some of the sidehill out of the road! That road is sketchy, but Team MORR pulled off another save!
Shnikies!!! Even Matt is battened down with a jacket!
I've been watching your recoveries for years and this one made my butt pucker a bit! Great job getting that truck out of that predicament! Kaulin deserves a raise after that job.
Damn, talk about a time for radios.
Not taking necessary equipment seems to happen a lot.
@@derekdainton1 Two ways are cheap. You'd think there would be a set in each of their recovery vehicles at all times.
They're always forgetting the radios??? Why?
@@klwthe3rd drama.
@klwthe3rd probably because it's funny and they know they'll get comments about it.
I noticed the wrecker windows were clean, woot! Makes for a nice video. Wow that was a high pucker factor rescue. My wife asked why would anybody drive on that!
love the view of the WLORW Bonnet with the top of the head lights and the air intake, looks like a smiley face....
My hats off to you guys , I live in Brisbane, Australia, and you are as tough as nails battling thoughs temps ... I know the cold, and it is no fun to work in......❤
Ps: Ex kiwi from NZ, Dunedin...
Man.. when Matt is hesitating to even give the keys to his son for the customers car, you know it is a seriously sketchy road.
OMG you have nerves of steel. Just like when I drove a snow plow, trying to find the edge of the road, without hitting the ditch.
I MISS LIZZIE,... HOW IS SHE AND HER FAMILY DOING??😔
That was bad from where I’m sitting, can’t believe how it must felt for Kaulin, very nice, calm, cool , and collected.
Wonder if the PSI had to be adjusted before the recovery started .
Definitely see the need of a 3-person team in these situations that have recovery experience .
When you look back at the Wrecker build then see this you know Matts brain has always been firing on all cylinders! Sketchy recovery made easy again. What a team.
I wish you guys would keep the cameras level so we could more accurately gauge the terrain and slope.
Last thing on their mind
@@UnholiestJedi True.
It was done on purpose they want to to look worse.
Great Vid!
Brandon Herrera for director of the ATF.
Excellent work!
That opening scene was wild! It's rare for me to go "holy sh*t" but than angle is wild!
HehHeh....This job had some hair on it!
You had me praying while holding my breath. Great Job 💯👍❤❤❤
The owner of that truck looks familiar, is he a reoccurring character? Great job as usual guys.
Great experience for all concerned, well done. Kaulin getting some lessons, good stuff.
Damn 2025 is a new era. Kaulin didn’t mention the rear steer once and Matt wearing a jacket. He need to go back to Johnny Boy’s survival school.
Haha! ❤
Matt, you guys should look in to the Sena communication system. they are hands free and would be perfect in that situation where multiple people need to be able to talk to each other but also need to keep both hands on the controls. much easier to use than the "walkie talkies". good job on that recovery, definately pucker factor for sure.
3:29 - I’d have the rear steer and front wheels pointed upward about that point 😮 yeeesh! Talk about sketchy
Just to point out some basic physics, if you break traction with the surface of the road, you will slide to whichever direction has the least resistance, but also towards the force of most attraction.
That wrecker is an awesome machine!
It's amazing to me just how many people dont know their limits nor the limits of the vehicles they drive! I lived in Moab Utah for about eight years and there are awesome trails but there's a lot of very dangerous trails as well!!
Hey Matt got a big jacket! It must be really cold.
There were Fabrats there in December, now Matt's lol, good job, guys.
To camera operator, please try hold camera level , if it’s not level then show bigger tilt than in real
love the way ya tilt the camera to make it look even steeper.......distance horizon gives ya away..along with the trees growing sideways.....keep it real guys there is no need to make it look worse than it really is....good job tho..........
Matt wearing a jacket what's up with that, it must have been too cold even for Matt, he wasn't even under the weather as far as we know.
Keep up the good work MORR!!!!!
I mean it was what, two weeks ago, that he was battling a cold in the build vids? And the rescue vids are usually behind the build vids… maybe Matt had a momentary come to Jesus moment lol
Crazy steep! Reminds me of the Radio Tower pucker hill!
Who would take a truck down that? Lucky too be alive.nice job brother Matt!and crew.
Love the variety of shop work and incredible recoveries.
Do you really need to tilt your cameras to make it appear more dramatic than it actually is? 11:05 and other places. I thought you had that camera on a gimball for a reason... :-)
More dramatic! I'm not a fan of the camera operator.
Crazy recovery, first time i had any anxiety watching one of your recoveries.
That was pretty intense. Handled it like pros!
Great job team 💪👏. TKS for sharing 😊
Yeah the camera being turned sideways to make to look more steep is amazing! So steep wow! Impressive!
Good one!
I don't think I've ever seen Matt wearing a coat....omg it must have been COLD
I really enjoy this channel, and also wish they would use level camera angles. The situation does not need to be faked to be exciting. When the people in the shot and the horizon are obviously not right, it makes it hard to watch.
I gave it a Thumbs Down because of that.
@@snchilders all engagements helps them in the algorithm. so...good job?
Physics baby! Outstanding work!!!!
I love how people whinge about the camera angle. I don't think Jake was trying to fake the angle, I think he was just trying to stay upright.
The camera wasn’t level for about 3 seconds. File a complaint with the FCC.
@@Lawst-1 It's a youtube video. The idea is to get views!!
@@augieschultz2530 more like half the video.
Yeah, we get it, it's steep, but please, please hold the damn camera level anyway!
Agreed, whiners whining adds to the video traction so at least they are good for that. Lots of hints that it was steep like the way the truck started to slide sideways rather than roll and watching them open the doors etc. great recovery in tough terrain!
You could not have done that without the wrecker. When you see steam from the Toyota exhaust and Matt NOT in a t shirt then you know
it is very cold. Good job.
Your off-road wrecker is awesome!
I've watched Matt at night in a blizzard on a recovery in his short sleeves. It's really cold or maturity is catching up! LOL. Off camber is what makes one pucker!
The incline in itself is sufficient, you don't need to rotate the image to picture it worst than it was, seeing the horizon at an angle and Matt walking at an angle is ridiculous.
GoPro cameras have an auto level horizon feature, but it isn't perfect.
@@JimBergman1Only if you turn it on...
I dont know his priorities, but he seems to be spotting the recovery, trying not to trip and fall over stuff, and last... film for our enjoyment. You see the picture straighten when his attention returns to the camera, so I dont believe the angles are on purpose. Whatever, I still watch...
Geez, I got anxiety watching this. I couldn't imagine trying to tackle this job. Great work!!
MUST BE COLD... Matt's wearing a jacket!
That was a great rescue. Seeing the Tundra sliding sideways all by itself said everything about the angle of the road.
“Someone needs to fix this”. There’s no law against stupid, maybe there should be severe penalties for people who drive beyond their capabilities.
I was leaning as I watched to help with the recovery!! You are welcome!! 🤣😂 Great job TEAM MORR!!!
That road needs to be fixed is an understatement....that is flat dangerous.
That's not a road that's just a trail on the side of a hill people started driving on nothing is ever going to be fixed no need to be just a trail on the side of a hill😅
Even on camera this looked rediculous. Those are some crazy angles on both vehicles. Great work!
I've got a strong Déjà vu watching this. This is the same spot where Paul Cox, aka Fab Rats recovered a vehicle. Published on 11 Dec 2024. Title: Christmas Tree Search GONE WRONG: This Family Could Lose Their Truck!
I had the same thought
Kaylin did great. He listened and was a great help! Matt is a great leader.
One of the first videos that really showed the angle. Ive been there. Great video
Yeah the angle of him turning the camera sideways to make it look more steep.
Excellent job Kaulin!!! Great work in such a precarious situation
