- Why would full time live-a-boards go on a narrowboat holiday? Because it's Scotland of course!! There is no way we would be able to get our boats up the Falkirk Wheel! Thanks to ABC we were able to rent out a boat and experience a completely new canal.

Not only does it use so little power but it only loses about a teacup of water a day in operation. That's awesome engineering in my book. Try letting the hammer do the work insead of driving it down. you'll find it just as effective and less tiring.

Oh you'll love it! But if you buy a boat on the southern network you'll have to get the boat transported up to the scottish canal! I recommend hiring instead 😀

We did the Falkirk Wheel via the local tour boat about 10 years ago. Interesting to do so again vicariously.

When you went through the tunnel and the water was dripping on your heads did you not notice that the water also dripped into both your cups of tea you had on the side then you drank them afer you got out the tunnel? lol
What a wonderful things to do with friends I hope that someday you are all able to come and do the peak forest, Macclesfield Canal and the Anderton Boat Lift. Looking forward to watching part 2

@@wellbeingonwater Yeah, we loved it there. We stayed at a B&B about 4 miles out of town that is run by an Irish Wolfhound breeder. Wonderful people, wonderful hounds.
That lock looks like the ultimate big wheel at the fairgrounds.

Ha Ha Ha , Adam.. No May does not have a cruising boat, she just borrows one for her videos !. . I told you you'd love the wheel. Scenery gets really grand as you travel over. I did the trip but by motorbike. Did you get to see the Kelpies ? and when you get to Glasgow, go to Dumbarton Road at Dalmuir and see the "drop Lock" it goes under a main road.
Wow that sounds cool! is it a normal lock or something speical? I did see the kelpies so bigggg and impressive! I also headed north to the highlands. Best few weeks away 😀
Where abouts was the twist bridge thing ? AS in the one who plans the route may so wondering if we can make that an experience also . Doing it with me uncle and me mums partner and me mum as she just had cancer op so we celebrating it doing holiday xx

I'm on grand union canal this year on the 22 September for a week this is my 2nd holiday on narrowboat hope I pass u for an autograph haha didn't use abc as expensive we've used grand union canal boat hire and can't wait for the blisworth tunnel x
