- Decided to upload some tracks from the game that are not on the official OST.
This theme plays just inside the town of Oxenfurt. It is sort of an instrumental version of 'Whispers of Oxenfurt'.
This is not the official name of the track. If anyone has a request i'd be glad to help.
when this music hits you first time in oxenfurt , it feels so relieving to be in that city after travelling through the swamps of velen.

The game is breathtaking to say the least. An absolute masterpiece of a game.

This year has been so stacked with phenomenal games especially on PC when you consider it was the first time we got to play GTA V. As you mentioned MGS V is now out and Fallout 4 releasing soon. What a year!
+123doomdoom FO4 will be full of bugs, but will likely win because it's American whereas W3 is EU and MGS5 is Japanese.

I think he meant music. To which I agree. As for the aesthetics, as much as I liked to see civil houses after all the villages, the amount of "rich" in Oxenfurt is really revolting. Novigrad is a lot more realistic city.

Much cleaner, true, but not necessarily more cultured. Oxenfurt's culture is one of singular study and festivity, whereas Novigrad's culture is one of disparity between all the different classes. Oxenfurt has more of a single cohesive culture, whereas Novigrad has a monster of many.
This song makes the city of Oxenfurt feel more melancholic, like if you are actually in a medieval polish city taken by the tide of a distant war
Beautifull piece. This was the only reason i kept going back to Oxenfurt instead of bigger Novigrad :).

I agree, but I really like the city in Skyrim that is located on a cliff face, and you can climb all the way down almost underneath the city by the overhanging cliff face. Can't remember what it is called, though.

The Witcher 3 helped me through a very strange and unsure time in my life, with lots of change going on. Now that things have settled down a bit, looking back I have such fond memories of it. Just losing myself for a time in the wonderful world of this game. This track is the first thing that comes to mind when looking back on it.
I kinda want to do a second playthrough but I'm a bit worried it will ruin or alter my initial experience with it. It's one of those very special games you shouldn't play too often.
I did a second playthrough and didn't regret it one bit. I actually respect the game more now, because i picked up on things i didnt notice my first playthrough
+TheAphexTim I waited about 6 months to do a second playthrough, this time with the Hearts of Stone expansion. The game offers so many choices and consequences, I had a very different experience from when I played it the first time around. I would highly recommend it.
Brendan VanAlstyne That's a good idea. I think I'll wait until Blood and Wine is released as well and then just buy the whole bunch and replay the game.

Three weeks into my second playthrough, this time with Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine installed, and indeed I gotta say, I'm even more immersed this time than I was during my first playthrough. Feeling more comfortable with the mechanics and doing a lot more exploring. Feels like a totally fresh experience and I haven't even gotten around to playing any expansion quest yet!
Lost count of how many times I just stood there idle in Oxenfurt just to listen to this,what a masterfully composed music what a game...WHAT A GAME!!.Nearly 6 years now since I last played Witcher 3 and listening to this got me emotional...something only this game can do.

I mean this might be a minor thing, but I'm glad there are poeple who do the exact thing like you, however minor that be. In this just standing and listening to this. Brilliant!

Oxenfurt is a really nice contrast to Novigrad. The music is beautiful, and fills its purpose perfectly.
Oxenfurt has a more 'academic, civilized' architecture. And its music sounds just like that. Very intellectual, I would say. Full of violins and sophisticated instruments.
Novigrad, on the other hand, is a 'common folk town', fullfilled with not so intellectual, yet festive and energetic people, for the best and for the worst (poor nonhumans :/). The music of Novigrad has a lot of instruments that you might have encountered in a tavern, square or public place in the XIII century. Very common, very folk-ish.

This song is amazing and was accompanying me through the sad story of Hearts of stone, somehow the expansion and this song fit so perfectly together.
I dunno, maybe that transition from deep and dramatic 0:44 - 1:08 to light and windy 1:09 and forth, that what it makes so catchy and touching. Genius polish composer!

Thanks for mentioning that this is among the Unreleased Tracks. I was looking for this ost in the original collection, but found out that Oxenfurt is something else in that collection !!!!! Even the OSTs of this magnificent game are complicated !

Seeing that a section of Heart of Stone takes place in Oxfenfurt, I always tend to associate this song to the dlc. And it's so, so good

My favorite soundtrack in The Witcher 3. It perfectly captures the flavor of a trading town on the coast. The melody is like the sound of waves crashing against the side of a moored ship. In addition to the pleasant sounds of measured merchant life, you can feel notes of anxiety coming from the hidden depths of city life.
Walking into Oxenfurt the first time and hearing this music start... Man it rivals the first time going into Diamond City and hearing Rebuild Renew start playing.

@@sl9wdive Witcher 3, easy. Fallout 4 was a very disappointing entry in the Fallout series, imho. Of course, not anywhere near as bad as the abortion that is Fallout 76, but still. A decent game, but so much less full of life than its predecessors. I also hated that you only had 4 standard answers at every question.
@@dicksdiggers Fallout 4 had nice gameplay but lacked most importantly the rpg aspect of it. But I guess now we know better what works and what doesnt.

First time I played this game, I was just exploring the map of Velen just at the very beggining, then I decided to visit that kind island on middle of the river. At time i found it was some kind of great castle or fortress of the redanians, since I thought the game would had a separate map for a proper city... But when I traversed that big bridge it was such a impressive surprise, a whole funtional city on that war scenario map. It was crazy to explore that fair square around those big buildings, since i only had been with Geralt on villages and small towns. It was a completely new experience, and this soundtrack got stuck on my mind every time i remembered this moment of the game. The funniest thing is that little did I know, that there was on that same map, another city that was 4 times bigger than that one I've just discovered at Oxenfurt XD

HOS had mostly velen exploration and oxenfurt music .. which was excellent because I finished the main game and felt very sad long time. Then HOS was released... I couldn’t be happier...

Ps took me almost 2 hours to have found this tune. After finishing the game, I could not sleep. Finished at 01:00 am and now it's 09:00, cried for like an 30 min. Then the music kept springing to my head and this one in particular. And two others from novigrad. Had to find it. Then went back online to finish one side mission which I didn't finish. CD project thank you as well as f you for making such an amazing game but at the same time ruining all other games for me. I don't think I will play another game for a while. Taking a break after this masterpiece
