right near our dorm, you could go to the southside mtr mall (3-5 min walk), and there are 4-5 options you could choose from (including macdonald and caa caan teng). Walking downhill to the right side as you leave from the dorm gate, you'll see a few restaurants aligned in front of the outdoor sports park. If you're trying to find some affordable decent resto, go to "food lab" located in the mall.
Hey man, do u know if HKU will be providing shuttle service from Jockey Club Student Village IV to HKU main campus? Most if not all other dorms / locations (including QMH) are connected via HKU shuttle service.
Can my friend crash in my room for a few nights? Or all guests that are NOT HKU students will have to leave after certain time? I may have a friend visiting me from overseas.

yeah he's got a bigger room. So for normal rooms, you can just put the luggage under the desk (there's space where you can push in)

Also, taking minibus 59A you can go to this district nearby called Aberdeen and possibly get some food. They've got nice markets for shopping as well.

storage under the bed is enough 4-5 shoes and there’s two of that. Storage behind, you can only store little things.

I’m going to pursue masters in hku this fall. Is it easy for a postgrad student to get a room here ? What are the criteria they look for?
I would say jockey 4 is currently the easiest dorm at HKU to get committed. And it's a new dorm so they don't have much standards for applicants.

as of now, they're not providing any shuttle. But nearby, there's bus and MTR (metro) station
