Degree from tier 1 college is necessary if you want to work as a PM in FAANG/Flipkart/big tech these kinda companies. For ex Flipkart hires APM only from IIT dual degrees and PM from IIM ABCL/XL/FMS. Without an MBA one would either need be a SDE at a product firm and shift to PM role.(this is equivalent to doing a tier 1 MBA) 2 years sde then PM is a very common choice amongst developers). But mind u getting a SDE role in product firms is itself a huge task. Or only would need to work in small startups as product analyst then shift to PM in big tech
