Out of all of the 4x4 trails we've ever done, this one is definitely in the top for number of off roading fails we have experienced. Technology issues, insane opportunities for trail damage and rolling, swarms of bees...Pinyon Mountain did not disappoint! Luckily, we at least got to start the morning off with some of Marco's cooking and TrailRecon got to experience our Hemi-swapped Jeep!
Hope you all enjoy the video!

Most likely hornets, bees have hair on their thorax, & wasps are mostly predatory but also have a long narrow area near the middle of their bodies. Bees rarely go after sugary drinks that even though they are way over sweet aren't usually sweet enough for their liking. Also Hornets are attracted to yellow while bees are not.😉🍻🍀

Hello Kevin and Brittany, I've lived in the desert for 50 yrs, so I think I can give you a few tips about staying cool out there (in the day)...hydration is your number one priority; keeping your head and feet cool becomes your second most important priority; wide-brimmed hats are better than baseball caps; cotton is king , loose cotton garments, trap moisture so any light breeze will cool you off, and for all day long exposure in the sun long sleeved shirts are recommended, foot wear must be breathable and not too tight fitting, feet usually tend to swell in the heat after a long day. A nice set of sunglasses too; also one of the worst mistakes is using tight fitting sporswear made of lycra/polyester combinations...you will bake from the inside out on those...a damp hankerchief around your neck is great too. Nights can get too cold, so is recommended to have some light jacket around just in case. Anyway, loved your video...stay cool

I don't know if it will work as well in the Anza Borego desert as it did in the Dale District of 29 Palms, but when we were doing our gold prospecting / 4 wheeling thing, we met a swarm of VERY aggressive bee's. We researched on line as to keeping the bee's away from us and this is what worked the best. Find a disposable (something you can leave behind) tray/plate/dish, something that is not a family heirloom. Fill it with sugar water or lightly salted water and put it about 300 feet away from your convoy. The bee's will discover it and leave the convoy alone. The only way you will get it back is when the water runs out and the bee's start harassing your convoy again. We used sturdy paper plates and left them, picking them up the next time we returned. A bowl in the rocks will work and not leave any trash, IF you can find one. Sugar or salt water works great.

If you wear white or light colors, you will be much cooler. For a baseball cap, keep a wet rag hanging off the back of it and it is like air conditioning in the breeze. A white cowboy hat (straw type) is super cool for your head too. Be sure there are vent holes, ventilation in it.

Number one rule for me when out in the hot sun is to wear white or light colors; I would literally die of heat stroke if I wore black. It makes a huge difference! Keep your plastic fenders; they bend and are easily replaceable. Contrary to popular belief, steel fenders can actually cause body damage.

This is why the metalcloak fenders are way better then stock. They are like rocksliders for the middle of the body. Instead of the shitty plastic ones folding the metal ones would keep the rest of the Jeep off the rock as you slid along it.

Lysine in the Jurassic YJ needs to ditch / remove the front & rear track bars and DEFIANTLY disconnect the anti-sway bar... If she wants to continue her off road adventure, she should invest in anti-sway disconnects for her YJ... The track bars and anti-sway aren't really necessary for leaf spring YJ's. Been riding on road and off road without those 5+ years, no issues... She takes those off, she'd have made Heartbreak Hill and The Squeeze would have been a breeze...
But then again... she'd get in trouble for removing those living in California and all... Sad state of affairs there...

I am getting quick disconnects for the front sway bar soon! Hopefully it will help it perform a lot better than its been doing with regard to flex.

Kevin with his own voice over 🤣
That squeeze was pretty damn tight, but sure what line would have worked for my JK since I’m slightly wider then y’all with my wheel offset, my axles are roughly the same width, but that offset might have helped or hurt me somehow. Would have been interesting. Another great video 😁🤙🏼

YJ and LJ slid through that gap! Shows that they are still if not more capable in certain situations compared to the new gen jeeps.
