This was the theme song from 1995 film Dangerous Minds. Michelle Pfeiffer, the lady in the video, played a teacher who taught inner city kids. It was good! Love Coolio.
Sooo true!!! Things we did, heard, thought & said were VERY DIFFERENT back then...the 80's were wild too!!😂by today's standards, those times seem insane to some degree, but I think we were a better place back then dispite the wildness and blunt, hard core way we approached life...we're waay too soft nowadays, imo.😂
I always love the young dudes listening to these classics for the first time. I was around 10 yrs old when this first came out and i loved it from the start. Great reaction.
This Song is the Soundtrack to Dangerous Minds Movie and the White Lady is the lead Actress in that Movie and her name is Michelle Pfeiffer shes known for other Movies such as Scarface,Cat Woman in the Movie Batman Returns,Greece,Antman the Wasp and other movies
I remember saving up my pocket money to buy this, the first CD (might have been tape) I ever bought. Was obsessed with this song. It's weird to think back to that now given how easily accessible music is.
Its from the movie Dangerous Minds..a very good movie how a white teacher tries to reach her class not knowing the struggles they go through... knowing the talent they show she finds out its not easy to reach them due to their environmental circumstances..she finds an alternative way with resistance but they grew to trust and love her
Coolio really sees the whole picture, rest in peace. If we don't try to understand others, we're finished. Doesn't matter who you are, if you're born somewhere and you don't have a chance to see better, to feel loved, and given a chance, then that's it.

You're a whole lot younger than me. I grew up where fighting was normal. I've known people that got shot over stupid stuff. I've had to show up to keep my people safe to see a dozen people hop out a couple trucks to try to end people I considered family. On paper I've started 2 gangs. But in reality all I did was get some good people together that could fight to protect eachother. Living that kinda life is rough. People look at you like a fighter, a leader, a gangster. They almost never look at you as a person. In their head, you don't have any problems or regrets. Because how could you when you're holding people up like that? Thankfully a lot of the people I knew got out of that lifestyle. Grew up, moved on and stopped doing dramatic stupid stuff. Unfortunately not everyone made it. It sucks. Yeah, it's always gonna hurt thinking back. But nothing can change it. I've moved on ages ago. It sucks trying to heal from that and change. Cause when you live that life it really is hard to get out. And once you're out of that and safe, you gotta dial it back. When you're in that life, hostility gets immediate and harsh punishment. But once you're out, you can't hold jobs or meet people by acting like that. It gets easier to just stick to yourself. I'm glad you're smart enough to stay out of trouble. Cause I wouldn't wish the life I've lived on anyone. I hope you keep staying out of trouble, and enjoy life as much as you can
Good job~ you are a wise young man, and i thank you for reacting to one of my favorite joints. Coolio brilliantly sampled from Stevie Wonder's 1976 song "Pastime Paradise" for this powerful title track to the movie "Dangerous Minds". You should check it out, along with Wonder's beautiful album "Songs in the Key of Life", which included the original song. Stay well and God Bless!!!
Michelle Pfeiffer was incredible in this movie, ll the young actors too, great film, great music and a lot of socials issues there that republicans especially refuse to talk about it still in 2023. They say it's too woke for them and some democrats too.
Yep everybody thinking they are the special one. They are gonna make it out through criminal activity. And odds are you end up in the dirt, a cage, or worse. It crazy to think about the machine of gangs. Yeah at first it might be great friends chilling being crazy. But soon turns into I am going to feed these other guys to machine. Recruit more kids and feed them to the machine. The machine being the streets, the cops, the courts, the prison. They call it a game. Well that game is your life. And sometime things cost more that your soul can provide. Life in general seems like a set of machines all wanting to grind you up in some form or fashion. You get to decide who you feed your soul to. With smart decisions. Most important thing is making sure your family gets most of it. Because, they get to carry fragments of it into the future. Only 3 min in. good stuff so far.
Wassup Gang! Is This 🔥 OR 🗑️? YALL LMK
The video is from the movie dangerous minds. You got a little bit of what it was about, definitely one to watch.

The 90's were a different time. Normal would be considered crazy today
Nothing has changed
No God is the problem.

Coolio was a Loc in the day you would disappear if you disrespected him. He didn’t play. He didn’t just rap it. He’s not a studio gangsta he lived it.

Tomorrow is promised to nobody!
Great movie. Should see it.. Dangerous minds.😃 Greetings from Norway.
The truth is everyone has a past but you don’t have to let that past define who you are. You can rise above it and become who you want to be!
UNDERRATED 💯….. can’t FUCK with how hard this was back then.❤❤

The hook is a sample from Stevie Woder's song Pasttime Paradise
And Stevie gave permission provided there would be no cussing.

R.I.P. Coolio. Message is strong. 🎯💯
Coolio sampled this some from pastimes paradise-Stevie Wonder.
The word you're looking for to describe him killing someone is 'nonchalantly.' It means "In a casually clam and relaxed manner."
RIP coolio
Love your take on the lyrics. I immediately subscribed.
