I dont think people understand how cold these verses are. He starts off super cold blooded and and by the third verse realizes how the life he is living works. People mistakes this song for him being a gangster, but it is not that at all. He is rapping about growing up in bad surrounding and just doing what it takes to survive. He isnt and never claimed to be a gangster. He is just a simple guy trying to survive in the hood. And there is no cussing in this song ... this is simply amazing
You gotta know this song came out in real rough times when gang wars were crazy! People dying on the daily, then riots over Rodney King...times were crazy and hard back then!
I've loved this song since the Dangerous Minds movie came out because the music just sounds so good...I can't relate to his pain in this song. Then later on in life l found out what a white savior movie was - and that's definitely what that movie is - and I felt awful for not recognizing that. You're right - we are a product of our environment but when we know better and we can do better, then that's all we can do. Anywho, I lived in Philly for about a year or so when I was a kid! My dad was stationed there in the Navy. I went to Bregy Elementary, which I think still exists 😲
It says a lot about you that you even use the words "white savior", the "product of environment' crap is just the most elitist racist sh*t ever if you just use one of your brain cells to think about what percentage of poor people go into a life of crimes, spoiler alert about 4%, so come again about environment? So are you saying poor people are dumb and have to steal? From a poor Brazilian, shut up.
Now people should take what you said about your work environment & apply that to kids in the school setting (which is what the movie is about, I assume). Every child can't be saved but if you can find a way to reach them, some can!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 First hip hop track I seen every morning as a kid before going to primary school. Dope reaction bro💯 Jump on to some Bone Thugs..Crossroads & First Of The Month
4Real. I be telling them including my relatives get out of those streets wasting your time in jail, life passing y'all by. This mv scene is from the movie 'Dangerous Minds' with Michele Pfiefer. If you haven't watched it you should. It's a classic movie with a classic song base on a true story I believe. Not sure but either Coolio was nominated or he won a Grammy for this song. I know he performed it on stage at the GRAMMYS. Can you React to VANILLA ICE 'Ice Ice Baby'. You know, it's a sad tragic case with Vanilla Ice and all the scandal which surrounded him back in the early 90's. Crooked Suge Knight hung Vanilla Ice over a balcony to make him sign a contract. Vanilla Ice got caught in a lot of lies on where he came from. Come to find out he wasn't really from where he said he was from. 😁But it's all good. Live and learn. The dude can still rap though. I watched Ice do freestyle on some vid. THANKS. Great Reaction. 🤗👪✨✌️
Great song with important lyrics that are unfortunately timeless. Something that has gotten forgotten a bit is the this song dropped when the 90s gang wars were totally out of control.
Have you seen the movie? Dangerous Minds. It’s good for being ‘old school’ 🤨. I almost chocked when you said this was old school! Oh well, it’s a good one that’s for sure! 😊
@@shawnytv_ it’s a good story of kids who finally get a teacher that won’t give up on them. They’re ‘damaged’ she’s damaged all within a system that is completely broken and they somehow work some of it out, but it’s not all roses for them. A good movie.
This song was also. Used in the. Tv show. Called. The. Sons of. Anrchy. Great. Show. Check it. Out. They was. Out law. Murdering. Bikers. Bad. To. The. Bone.
I was a goth skater punk metalhead outcast who grew up in the ghetto so I was the alternative freak and the bad thug dude because I had to survive, I was arrested for the first time for assault in the 3rd grade after going after a guy with a metal baseball bat, I was also in the local hip hop club every Sunday for all ages night in the mid and late 90’s as a goth kid so I got plenty of hate from bigots because I painted my nails and wore makeup and some of the girls at the club liked my look so some of the guys would get mad
Sorry I had to cover the video so it wouldn’t be blocked.
It’s all good - it was a great reaction as always 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Fun fact there's not one single curse word in this song and it's still considered one of the hardest song till this day

Agreed, this is not a happy song.
True
This still hits hard!! Been a favorite of mine for years!
Coolio was never the hardest rapper alive but this song is one of the hardest rap songs ever. And props to L.V. that dude can sing.
It's amazing how much harder these verses hit as an adult than when I was younger
Stevie Wonder -original music

Dangerous Minds was a great movie if you haven’t seen you definitely should
WRONG the song is a message and a warning that if we don't stop preying on our own brothers and sisters our children won't have a future 😔
While this is a fresh reaction, you should react to Weird Al Yankovich parody 'Amish Paradise"
