Hi, thanks, good work, been looking for something like this for my anet a8 plus. Question, what length extrusions did you use for your X and Y. Also, what length did you use for your X and Z Rails? Thanks again...
MGN12 for Y,Z and X axis is 450mm . I did order 500mm for Z and X axis but at the end i did cut them. 20x20 extrusion is 42mm and other one little shorter because of wires for TFT.
Depends what you want to do. If you need bigger bed and you want to mod it then Anet A8+ but out of the box Ender 3 V2 is better. But after you do BLV mod Anet is great and i will not replace it. I learn a loot transforming my printer 😁
Thank you for your video's. They are really inspirational. I also want to upgrade. Especially cause the Anet A8 is difficult to Calibrate. I already purchased a skr. 1.4 mainboard. Next step is to purchase some stepper drivers. I think i wil go for the 2209.
Thanx, I do my best on A8P if we still can say so because this is now something much, much better. By the way TMC 2209 are great choice👍 Ultra quiet and sensorless homing so you won't need endstop switches. If you can go with mgn12 Y axis upgrade. You need 450mm rails 👌😁
Hi Trebor Amazing this 3d printer! Could please tell me the size of the 2020 profile that you used for the X Axis (extruder axis). Is it correct that it is 450? I also would like to upgrade my anet a8 plus to a blv version. Many thanks for your time and help, Ronny
@@trebor1477 Thanks for your respons the project to build this 3D printer is currently on hold 😉 because of an issue that i first need to solve with my current printer
@@easyronny I buy this printer new for 150€ and after all modded parts whole thing cost me around 450€. But i realy enyoyed to put it together. Now after a loot of work this is one good printer. Printing become so easy. Even printing TPU with bowden setup is possible. Kind regards Robert
As you said, it's not cheap... but it is fun right??? I have some pending modification to my Anet A8 too, I really enjoy when I am assembling or customizing the printer... I really liked your modifications, thanks for sharing!
Yes i really enjoyed modifying it. I was thinking to make it RGB to print in colors . Well the print quality is allso great now. The very first upgrade on this printer must be printing head, feet for heating bed and 8mm sliding bearing are terrible.
Well I must do new chain for X axis. This old one is not good. I must remix motor cover for X motor with new chain mounting point. And perhaps new E3D mgn12 cariage so i can better see how it is printing the first layer.
Hello..i have anet a8 plus and i want to upgrade the mainboard..do you have any idea which one should i buy?i want the replacement to be plug and play to keep the downtime as short as possible as now the machine is working pretty busy
There are no easy PNP boards. And I will say go with my config but you will still need to configure some Merlin options differently. But it is worth it to mod with the same board. You will get silent drivers and you don't need end switches at all. So less cabling 👍
@@trebor1477 so it means that we have to manually configure everything to match printer specs right? i'm also a bit curious about print result improvement..is it really far more better than the stock board?i've been dealing pretty long time with the ringing and ghosting marks on X and Y axis even after installing braces i have several other printers from other brand and to be honest this one got the worst result and its really a pain in the ass for me to resolve
Hi. I used this part www.thingiverse.com/thing:3478184 It is a little difficult to align but if you mark center of old munting part it is no problem. Old mounting holes won't fit anymore. But don't tihten everything at beggining. First move front and back bed carriage so it move freely and then tighten all screw's. If you will use only linear rail's you will have some flex up and down but not as much as on 8mm rods. Becouse of that i added 2020 extrusion profiles.
