- Follow along as we now plate the floor we snapped out in the previous video! nailing the top and bottom plates of the walls together and down to the floor to prep them for layout!
Thanks Rene! That project looks fun! Great video. Love watching your stuff man
thanks so much dude! i appreciate that from a fellow creator :)
This is the most efficient way to plate. The way Larry Haun teaches. I took over a crew of guys and they were used to a different way of plating which in my opinion is not as efficient as this. The way they are used to is building one or two walls at a time. Lay down too and bottom plate not on top of one another but butting into each other so that your lay of is on the 5 1/2 face. The only bright side to this method is that you can square your lay out exactly where the stud goes and the studs don’t end up crooked because you have a square line to go with. Although if you can’t keep a stud straight without a line you might need to grab a different gear.
True! I loved seeing Larry haun do it this way 👌🏻👌🏻
most excellent
What are you going to do at the 1:10 mark where the floor looks to be a 1/2 long?
None of the plywood was cut yet so we routered them all flush once we started framing!
Are u going to show layout in the next video?
Yes indeed! Currently editing that video! It’ll be out in Sunday!
@@Coffmanconstruction thank u sir
Why did you air nail the plates down to the floor, then to each other?
They’re nailed with 8s to keep them in place while laying out, and then to eachother so we can keep them together once we pull them off the floor
What happened to your long time working partner? I just got back into your videos and I hv not seen him? Sure hope he is ok to young to get hurt!!!
Yes indeed! Just been at another job site!
how do you get jobs and run your own thing when your only 20
Been doing it for 6 years now! I was supposed to start co leading when I was 18, but the other two leads didn’t work out so I was alone to lead the project
@@Coffmanconstruction Right on. you were destined to lead😂. Im trying to get into it as a 20 year old here in Toronto, Canada.
It’s definitely been trial by fire 😂
Awesome dude! The drive will get you there!
