It’s surprising to see Peter Weller, who is Robocop, is the voice of the elder Batman in The Dark Knight Returns.
you acutelly right
Yea he did a terrific job on those films.
His voice was perfect for that Batman
No more. All the people I murder by letting you live.
I love the fact that in arm-shootin brutality in mirror match Robo says "Again?!"
"Friendship... FRIENDSHIP?? *_AGAIN?!_* "
RoboCop:"Looking for me?" Erron Black:"I hear you're a damn quick shot." RoboCop:"Draw."
Maybe that "Draw" is a reference to Westworld movie ?
@@mariopinoli8779 jjo
Murphy
11:49 that's a smooth transition
Firhan Ramadhani lol yeah.
I need back-up! There's a monk with a hat!
ROFL xDD
Both Hanzo and Murphy lost their families to the hands of their murderers (Clarence & Quan-Chi). Despite having different ways on living, they are lost soul who seeks justice. I believe these two would bond well.
Also there's an intro with frost where she says "your future has a silver linning" this is a reference to the billboard in the scene of the girl getting robbed (aka your move creep)
“Under the mask, who are you?”
Ummm
Thank you for pointing it out.
Makes no sense. They're both not wearing masks! XD
Andrew the Cosmic Guardian maybe he mennt it metaphorical?
You're so keen on these references, I'm really hoping you notice this. A couple of interesting bits of "meta" I picked up on. I'm pretty sure that shade of blue on RoboCop's Lin Kuei Cyborg outfit is supposed to match the blue custom P90 the kid wields in RoboCop 2. More likely, though, one of his Brutality endings has him aim for the head only for his arm to twitch the moment he pulls the trigger, making the bullet destroy the opponent's hand. He just says "again". I don't know if the line is 1:1 with a clip from the films, but this sequence is definitely based on the times in the films RoboCop had to deal with "glitches" in general, and gives an interesting in-universe explanation for all the film references in the game.
Hmmm, I definitely didn't pick up on the shade of blue on Robocop's Lin Kuei skin as matching that of the custom P90 the kids play with. It's been quite a long time since I've watched the second Robocop. I've watched the original 1987 Robocop the most, followed by Robocop 3 then the second Robocop.
@@ChengTeoh You missed out on another reference. When Spawn says "You're about to feel real bad, motherfucker", it's a reference to Bob Morton saying "You're going to be a bad motherfucker".
connor mulholland relly? I remember that scene but I never thought that that was a reference to that I just thought spawn was being spawn saying bad words all the time .
8:27, 8:35, 8:38
"Bad language makes for bad feelings." My favorite line!
i think it just might be the funniest line in the entire series.
Johnny Cage:"Part man. Part machine. All cop." RoboCop:"That is correct." Johnny Cage:"Please tell me no one's signed you."
Sorry Johnny, but Orion Pictures beat you to him many decades ago! LOL
“Who are you under the mask?” “I must know.” That sounds like a reference to The Princess Bride, the scene where Inigo duels the man in black.
Goddam! The Princess Bride is a great movie that still holds up ( RIP Andre the Giant ). I just watched the clip you are referring to and he doesn't ask "who are you under the mask" ... he says "who are you" then Westley replies with "no one of consequences" to which Montoya says "I must know" ... then Westley says "get use to disappointment"
Cheng Teoh It was really the “I must know” that made me think it was a reference to The Princess Bride.
We seriously need a remake of the classic Sega Genesis game: Robocop vs the Terminator
Since NRS has licensed both their likenesses and they're interested in a new franchise, they're in the best position to do it. Off to petition.org!
Honestly didn't know that was a thing and thought it was referencing the death battle
*Best line that gets you in the feels. **9:23*
I love the blade runner reference because one of the writers started writing the first version of robocop after watching blade runner.
“Dead or alive, you’re coming with me!”
I loved the Blade Runner & Star Trek: The Voyage Home reference. Also, Peter Weller (Robocop) was on Star Trek: Enterprise as John Frederick Paxton in a 2-episode arc & he was in Star Trek Into Darkness as Admiral Alexander Marcus.
OOooo, Judge Dredd as a MK character, now THAT would be epic
If it's the Karl Urban version that would be fucking awesome
The part you show where RoboCop is holding Shang Tsung by the neck is actually a reference to later in the first movie when RoboCop nearly kills Clarence Boddicker, but then is reminded he's a cop and arrests Boddicker instead.
11:50 Bruh that transition was smooth as hell
The into where he gets out of the car is actually from Robocop 2 in the begging when we first see RC get out after getting hit with a rocket launcher.
Damn I knew that was familiar.
I loved the Star Trek IV reference, I think it'd be even better if the opponent called Robocop a Pompous Ass like someone in the Federation Council called the Klingon Ambassador after declaring "There shall be no peace as long as Kirk lives!"
LOL, which captain is the most memorable and enjoyable to watch - William Shatner's Kirk or Patrick Stewart's Picard?
2:39 I’ve been waiting for that line.
Most of these skins for Robocop look like the dollar store toy knock offs...
Hmmm Im sure someone bought it for a dollar.
The only ones I like are the classic silver (and blue), the Police Uniform like Metro West, the OCP black, the Cyber Ninja get ups and the damaged one.
I’d buy that for a dollar.
This was really well done, excellently researched and put together.
You still left out the "You remind me of someone I once knew..." bit with Buckaroo and Penny. Love that you got the John Whorfin quote tho.
Yeah, Robo responds to "Was she very beautiful?" with "similarly crazed and bloodthirsty" instead of "she was Queen of the Netherlands," but otherwise that's definitely a reference to the scene when Buckaroo goes to talk to Penny in jail after she tries to shoot herself at the concert.
@Jason_Todd, yeah I thought that interaction could have been a reference to Penny but then he said that she was "crazed and bloodthirsty" and that description didn't fit Penny's twin sister at all, which is why I left it out.
@@ChengTeoh The first two lines of dialogue there are right out of that scene in the movie that @Daniela Berger mentions above, but hey, man, it's your video. Even if you keep it out, at least some of us got you to watch the movie. Hope you liked it.
Kitana watched the taken franchise, Komfirmed.
💪💪💪💪⚔️⚔️⚔️💯💯💯. :)). It’s impressive, most impressive!
i really wish they'd tie certain dialogue to certain skins or gear. it's really distracting hearing a past scorpion line come from present scorpion or having characters reference masks neither of them are wearing.
Was half expecting:
Colossus: "Dead or alive, you're coming with me"
Firefist: "You stole that from Robocop!"
Deadpool: "That's from Robocop!"
2:44
Hey, I know that guy!
It's Robert Cop!
Kano: I have this problem.
Robocop: And what’s that Kano?
Kano: Cops don’t like me, so I don’t like cops.
"That is correct" response to "part machine part man all cop" May be reference to Data from Star Trek
14:48 That "subway fatality" is more likel just a fatality on the subway stage.
Yeah literally everything in that victory is a reference
Nope, in my mind I'd like to imagine that it was a reference to the subway scene in Predator 2 XD ( but I have to say you're reference does make sense now that I think about it, lol ).
@@ChengTeoh Yeah, but MK got full on Predator references last game.
7:06 hits me every time
2:09 the mask...
military dropping OCP and Kamemitsu Corporation under investigation from Robocop 3
One I think you missed was when Robocop goes up against Cassie or Jacqui I think, and they ask what happened to you, and Murphy says "I was ionized, but I'm ok now" - Buckaroo Banzai reference.
4:07 wasn't shown but it's from RoboCop: The Series (1 series) when Robocop was shot through by a William Ray "Pudface" Morgan.
Nice video thanks, i am so glad to find out that Weller is doing the voice.
“Under the mask who are you?” His mask is literally off.
I knew about the Blade Runner
1:00 the cop's gun looks like a shinier version of the iconic Fallout 3's 10mm pistol.
I love how even Kung Lao recognizes its a bad idea to piss off the cop that can crush your hand with ease
Robocop/Terminator reference of fighting before could also be Netherealms homage to the Death Battle episode when they fought.
9:23
Great references/easter eggs compilation video! It makes me want to watch Robocop again.
I saw that you skipped the "Guns! Guns! Guns!"nickname Johnny Cage (announcer) gives to Robocop. It's from this scene with Clarence Boddicker: ua-cam.com/video/z5-1nVswz0I/v-deo.html
Doh! I knew had a feeling that "guns, guns, guns" was a thing, whoops. XD I probably could have also added the one where Johnny says something like "call me if you find Jax's arms" in one of the newer stages.
0:01 I like how fast Robocop responds to the call
Man, now I really would like to see Robocop vs Dredd!
I knew that was a reference1:51
nostalgia overload, brain must explode.
awesome
Hope that you are keeping safe. :)
@@ChengTeoh oh I am it's just Pico in the sitting next to mine are having riots and being fools it's hard to stay safe when people are being idiots and freaking out
@@ChengTeoh why thank you I hope the same for you
Who's next? Mask?
I never tought he'd metion stryker. Some of us think that 2 character with the same purpose cant exist so i expect they should forget about stryker for a while
10 10 need back up now
But, most importantly, 16:45 oh well honor for all
The polar bear makes reference to sub-zero animality xD
Next time, zoom in on RoboCop’s very charming, almost cute 'en garde' handgun pose which appears throughout the films.
Is it me or why haven’t spawn and robocop talk about being born at Detroit Michigan
0:06, snapshot of Sarrah Connor.
The one for robocop and terminator i was also thinking about the comic book.
Blade runner is one of the best movies I've seen so far. SOMEONE SUGGEST ME A GOOD MOVIE/SERIES to watch this weekend
Try the first Robocop & Predator if you haven't seen those yet.
@cheng Teoh 😍❤😍❤Ah shit I've already watched it. Thanks for the suggestion tho. By the way I've a yt channel which focuses on MOVIE MISTAKES, EASTER EGGS and many more. If anyone is interested to cheer up during this quarantine do check our new post: ua-cam.com/video/ZvMjtmDBVVw/v-deo.html . we upload vidoes every week and next video is on its way this coming friday. ❤❤❤❤😍❤😍❤
When friend fell down the stair
Me : they will fix you they fix everything
Well then, I guess I'm the first comment... I think
8:34 *HEY!* You cut Al off!
I feel like I've seen this video before.
The sniper is also reference for Robocop's weapon 3:24
They do a fabulous job would adding downloadable fighters to Mortal Kombat 11 but Rambo seriously I suppose it takes all kinds RoboCop has to be my favorite
Here i am wondering how they got a cop car in the arcade
It would be awesome if they brought back stryker
Same. I don't get why people hate him so much.
Hell, you see him near the far left in robocops ending. I think he was behind (or beside) Cassie.
NOOB SAIBOT GETS A FUCKING BATMAN WHO LAUGHS SKIN!?!?! I haven't played mortal kombat since 8 but I might buy the game literally for that reason alone.. that looks.. so fucking cool
What's with the Jensen recalls sports7 bit curious
What’s with the Star Trek reference? I don’t see how it pertains to robocop? Everything else referenced seemed pretty relevant to the character for the most part
It’s the dialogue from Star Trek: The Voyage Home; they just changed it from Klingon to Shokan. Also, sort of related, Peter Weller started in Star Trek Into Darkness as Admiral Marcus.
MissDarkFaerie 13 true! He was also in Enterprise if I recall correctly, that makes more sense but still a bit of a reach in my opinion
You forgot Kinney's death in Robocop's "Dead or Alive" Fatality and Fatal Blow. Kinney was shot multiple times by ED-209.
hmmm, I left that scene out because it had so many bloody squibs that could be considered over the line in terms of violence to the youtube algorithm, lol.
You missed Kotal Kohns dialogue about the directives
Oh man judge dreed would of been a nice addon
How is Robocop so kool?
Where are the name of movies in the video?
Why would you ever wanna choose the no mask for robo-cop?
Any references to the 2014 Robocop?
Only costume I suppose.
@10:05 I don't get it between Robocop and Skarlet lol.
That's actually another reference to Buckaroo Banzai, but Cheng seems to have neglected it.
WHY DIDN'T THEY PLAY THE FULL TAKEN CLIP!?
GAAAH you still missed one. In the RoboCop VS Spawn matchup when RoboCop says that "Bad language makes for bad feelings", Spawn reply has the words "...bad motherfucker." this is an obvious reference to Bob Morton famously saying to RoboCop "You're going to be a bad mother fucker."
4:58 Kano cangaceiro??
Why doesn't the batman who laugh's skin mouth move
2:08
Uhhh... what mask?
Is he technically still dead or alive
Murphy's soul and memories are inside Robo. Technically alive.
@@Joecbg100 I guess that's all you need to be alive so that technically makes him like spawn
I wish Dredd was a mk character
What's this movie? 15:10
Predator 2
2:06 clearly they're not wearing masks
3:26.
The actor would've been a great Joker
oh my god... only i see how trashy and out-of-place it all looks?
What
In an alternate Earth:
Cage: Whats fucking you Murphy?
Robocop: Its Kano. Kano is fucking me.
