    I totally get why some people would go to private schools especially here in California. RN schools here are extremely impacted and competitive 😭. I completed RN prerequisites with a 3.9 GPA and 89.3 on the TEAS and still didn’t get into any CSUs I applied to. Now I’m trying to get healthcare experience to help increase my chances

    • @thescrubslife

      for real! It's so competitive to get into good programs here. Healthcare experience will definitely be a big plus come application time. best of luck!

    Hi! love the video, my only concern about wcu is the housing. do they have resources to find roommates, etc?

    • @thescrubslife
      @thescrubslife  Рік тому

      Thank you for watching! I didn't go through WCU for help in housing, however I do know that if you contact their student services desk, they will guide you in the right direction to find housing. Also, joining facebook groups for the campus that you will be going to and looking for roommates there is something I have heard people do as well.

    How many loans did you have to take out for the program and did you need a co-signer? I might be starting wcu in January and I’m a little bit scared because of how pricey it is 😩

    • @thescrubslife
      @thescrubslife  2 роки тому

      For me, I had to take out 2 loans. One through FAFSA and another thru a private loan company. I only needed a cosigner for my private loan

    I am in the process of applying for WCU. I have already obtained my Bachelors Degree in Business Ad but I am transitioning into Nursing Program. I am currently trying to schedule a zoom meeting about the informational session via zoom. How long after did you take your HESI exam from doing your orientation? Also, privately, if theres any platform I can ask you about the tuition and how long it will take you to finish the program

    • @thescrubslife
      @thescrubslife  2 роки тому +2

      It is listed as a BSN program on their website, however it is technically considered accelerated due to the pace of the classes. It's term after term throughout the year with your only " real break" being a 2 week winter break.

    I’m thinking to apply to this university but I still deciding which one is the best campus in California? Anaheim or LA? I did my pre requisites classes already in a community college & also I start the application but still deciding if I should chose this school. I never been in an accelerated program so I’m scared to do bad

    • @thescrubslife
      @thescrubslife  2 роки тому

      tbh, i can't really compare the two because I took pre-core classes at OC while I started my core classes in LA so there would be a drastic difference in what to expect between the two campuses because pre-core is nothing compared to core. Both campuses were helpful in answering any questions I had regarding registration tho. I would suggest exploring all options outside of WCU as well because it is pretty expensive here lol. In terms of how to succeed in an accelerated program, it really is daunting at first, but what I found this far into the program is that you start to hone your time management skills in studying for this program over time. I hope that helps a bit!

    • @thescrubslife
      @thescrubslife  3 роки тому

      Thanks for watching! WCU will have you do some school specific classes before you can start clinicals. That being said, I unfortunately would not know exactly how much the costs would be. You definitely would save a lot of time and money though with those prerequisites being done. I would suggest asking a financial aid advisor from the school if possible.

      I'm in the OC Campus. it's gonna be about $145k if you are to start from the very beginning if i am not mistaken. it is a bit pricey, but most of the professors from what i hear are decent and are able to help prepare students learn and pass the nclex. i've had many friends who did the RN program already say that it was worth it

      During my time at the Orange County campus, it was all online due to the COVID situation at the time so I can't really say much on how the campus was like unfortunately. I visited it once to pick up my student ID and that was about it haha. I took the pre-core classes there and I found the professors to be pretty solid. Hope that helps a bit!
