- Welcome back to another episode of Cities: Skylines and our city Lakewood! In this episode we take care of the monorail line going towards our public transportation hub and fill in another gap with high density residential, commercial, and a few offices.

I know this vid is 2 years old, but just wanted to say I love this playlist!!! You make beautiful cities. I love how the neighborhoods are clearly defined, you're such a master at creating and explaining everything! I don't have the game yet, but when I get it, I'll be going back through your playlist to mimic a lot of what you've done.

I'm waiting for the metropolitan airport at the megalopolis milestone that we haven't quite gotten to yet! It's on my mind too and I have an idea for an area to put it!

Clear, concise and extremely helpful.
You picked up on two bugbears of mine in this and the previous episode..
Leisure, tourism districts etc..
Would love the ability to draw a district the same way as zoning buildings.
Being able to use the marquee tool instead of a big awkward blob of a brush.
And in this one..
It would be great if you had the option to create a district and make it all historical in one click instead of having to go building to building.

Really enjoying your videos and learning a lot about gameplay. I keep wishing that Historical Building was an option you could add to a district, instead of having to click each individual building.

Cable cars make great feeders for monorail backbones.

Thanks for another great upload. Just a small fyi, I don't believe the pedestrian overpass near the new monorail station is functioning, so they are still going around and interfering with the traffic at the 4 way intersection.

You can use the district rules to set a no highrise setting. Yes it is time to become a Metropkile.
The public transportation system can reajuste itself when you change something in the route, but when it messes with the stops (especially in fix stops like trains or monorails) you have to manually fix it (usually it can be done just with the route tool by finding the stop and moving it to it’s new place, but sometimes you have to delete the line, although it is pretty rare (and probably not necessary at 18:00))
At 19:00 that weird zoning is because the node position of the road doesn’t match with the position of the avenue (it’s not a hole number like 20 units, it something like 20,3 units away)
If you draw the road from the avenue it will force the zoning to be correct

@@jester.Gaming yeah, for sure they are not big problems, but it can consume some time if you don’t know exactly what’s going on, and the zone can make some stuff look weird when you are placing buildings like plazas or the unique ones, so it’s always good to know how to fix it.

Hey mistrydul! I have a lot of offices spread throughout the city - both offices and industry count towards the orange "industry demand". I've also got the education boost policy enabled so my citizens will prefer to focus on education before starting to work. I hope this helps!
Doesn't the Highrise ban and Historical building make the building the same heigh?.
Hey abraham! The real difference between the highrise ban and historical buildings is the level that they can get to (not height level but building level). The highrise ban will restrict your buildings to level 3 but the historical buildings can still reach level 5. Higher level buildings mean more households, more citizens, and more tax income. However there is no real wrong way ... either way will work!
