These two were meant to find each other. Franklin needed someone to properly introduce him to the game and help him climb the ladder in the criminal world. By the end of the game, Franklin was one of the members that robbed the biggest bank in Los santos. Michael obviously misses being in the criminal life and having those adrenaline rushes while getting shot at and shooting at others. Him and Franklin accidentally breaking Madrazo’s balcony and then killing his hitmen made him get back into that life, reunite with his old friend and eventually make peace with him, become a director for vine wood which he always dreamed of, get his family back together, and retire satisfied with his life. Franklin is there to calm Michael down and tell him things he needs to hear, and Michael is there to give Franklin important life lessons.
Franklin is probably the ultimate ride or die homie. Man walked up to Michael's house to hang out and immediately was down to go tear down that asshole's mansion Even though he had no clue what was even going on.
Franklin also went after the ONeil brothers when he finds out they are going after Trevor despite not knowing what the full story was. He didnt care who is wrong or right, he just knew Trevor was his homie and he went on to hunt the ONeils. Trevor seemed to deeply respect him for it.

The scene where Franklin and Michael really talk for the first time by the pool is so much better than I remember. You see two different people, personalities, and cultures clashing, yet they're able to critique and take criticism from each other. Franklin doesn't get angry when Michael calls him a pest, and Michael sees some of his younger self in Franklin. They're both used to being the closest thing to a sane man in their circles, and finally have someone else who sort of gets it. Damn, I did not appreciate these moments nearly as much seven years ago.
I think Michael and Franklin’s bond is extremely underrated. Michael helped Franklin out with making money and Franklin in return gave him his unconditional loyalty, while Franklin supported Michael emotionally and saved him as Michael did for Franklin. Additionally he may have saw Franklin as a younger version of himself or Trevor, eager to learn and make money in an otherwise dirty business.
What I really like about GTA V isn’t just about the gameplay and how well designed it is, I was mostly intrigued by the main characters, some parts of the cast and small little moments that just connect them together. I agree that the character’s bond with one another is extremely underrated as well.✨

Given the very thing that set everything off is Michael's wife sleeping with the tennis coach, I love how this very plot element was foreshadowed 5 years earlier in GTA IV with UL Paper mentioning to Niko "... and my wife better not be sleeping with that tennis coach or ...", as if the developers (or at least the writers) already knew back then. It was so much of a turning point for the entire plot of GTA V that in GTA Online: The Contract, a more established Franklin makes a reference to "wives sleeping with tennis coaches" 8 years after shit happened.

This is one thing i felt it was a big downfall during my first playtrought, franklin and michael were really having that duo and father and son relationship....and then trevor shows up and Franklin is almost complety forgot during the story mode... really wished the story was just about franklin and michael and just having trevor as one of the main antagonists.
That would be an interesting outtake if the game would go down that route. I mean originally it was supposed to just be Michael and Franklin, while Trevor wasn’t really considered an idea during that time. But I’m still glad with what we got.✨
