Grammy Award Winning legendary music icon and master of progressive rock, Alan Parsons will return with a new album, “The Secret” via Frontiers Music Srl.
Alan’s longtime hobby has been performing magic and this brand new album showcases his own passion for the craft, hence the title “The Secret.” The album sees a return to the pop rock sound with symphonic and progressive rock interludes which the Alan Parsons Project was known for.
"Magic has always been a passion of mine, I am a member of The Magic Castle in Los Angeles. I've also worked with the Japanese magic company Tenyo, writing instruction books and catalogs for their tricks. I dabble with magic myself in my free time, so an album with magical influences was a natural progression”.

One thing I'm sure: When Alan's curtain falls, he will NOT fade away. His music will be remembered and cherished for many years beyond!
so true
I'm proof of that. Young & Gen Z and yet I'm in love with The Alan Parsons Project :)
двум чувакам нужно иногда его вспоминать
And That'll be true, as for Tina and other dead celebrities of rock 'n' roll, but i wish him cool health to entertain stupid headless nincompoops! IMHO, of course..
U better believe it!!!
One day, when I finally pass away and all my deeds here are done, I want this song and Woolfson’s “Old and Wise” to be played at my funeral.
I want it at mine too. The lyrics are absolutely beautiful.
That Is my favorite APP track...
I pray this album is not your curtain call, Alan. Please keep your creativity flowing - the world needs all the beautiful things it can get.
Amen to that
Tell me about it. This song has a finality that is both chilling and yet uplifting. I can't get enough of it!
Check out the "making of" video...there you'll find the true story behind the song. Don't worry about AP...he's going nowhere!
Except to immortality and high greatness
It really seems like this is which is sad but its great to hear one more album of music...just a shame eric isnt here to make it with him r.i.p
What an incredible tribute to the amazing history of this band. RIP Eric Woolfson.
The band is was and always will be a great band! Magical ,crisp, clear music and unbelievable background and vocals....it is a journey that only this band can take you on! Love you guts! Keep making the magic!
But nevertheless, hi was suicidal man for sort? if ya see wattamean!
Wonderful how the story of this artist is represented here with tribute to Eric. Thanks Alan, God will honor you....
My dad introduced me to Alan's music when I was a kid growing up in the 90s. I adored all of it. In 2019 I got the chance to fly down to Florida with my dad for the Cocoa Beach concert, for the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. It was the first time I've seen him in concert. And for him to bring a stool and a guitar center stage to play this song... It was practically a religious experience. Thank you Mr. Parsons. For everything.
Thank you Alan and Eric for the music
It's like a farewell song.....
Mr. Parsons is a deeply spiritual man who has always had an amazing ability to express some of the tender and sensitive experiences of the human heart. He conveys the journey of life and the bittersweet longings and questions that comprise our experience. There are few songwriters or singers like him.
He is such a beautiful being inside and out.
Many blessings to him
Having listened to APP for ages, it has not struck me before what a great vocalist Alan is. Absolutely brilliant!
Me too! Eric Woolfson and Lenny Zakatek are obviously legends, but I really wonder why Alan never sang on any Project songs, he's pretty good :/
It’s not the range of his voice, nor his technical skills. It is just… so unusually beautiful. Extraordinary good ”feel”. I could almost wish for this singing at my funeral.
@@holmavik6756 Have you checked out his duet with David Pack on "If I Fell"? Absolutely beautiful.
@@Jojoseahorse I will check that one up asap, thanks!
Whenever i feel sad and lost in this world, i listen to app and it lightens my heart
We saw APP last night in Peachtree City GA and I cried throughout the whole show because of utter joy. I can't express how incredible it was. It was a dream within a dream for us 😉 Thank you Alan ❤️
I love the fact that Alan is singing the Lead Vocals here. I enjoy his voice because it’s real and not auto tuned or over produced. Even live I’m enjoying what he is up to vocally ... keep it up Alan Parsons
I still miss Eric Wolfson though, now there was a team within a dream.
Thank you for a lifetime of amazing and poignant music, Alan. From the moment an elementary school friend of mine snuck me into his brother's room to drop the needle on "I Wouldn't Want to be Like You" until now, you've been a huge part of my life. The world would be a lesser place without your music.
My admiration forever
Today's generation of "pop stars" and "record producers" take note. THIS IS HOW SONG WRITING WAS DONE BACK IN THE DAY AND HOW IT SHOULD BE DONE "TODAY". This brand new release of Alan's proves that.
Yes!!!!
Leepshin amen!!
Fantastic album.
Oh there are songwriters like this still out there, they just never get into main stream cause of the lame music industry, the best band i listened too that reminded me of this great sound of Alan Parsons, is on Soundcloud Called The Capistrano Birds. I'd rather listen to music like that than today's plastic pop and lame sounds.
New generation bad
I absolutely love this!
Most of Alan Parsons songs, the more you listen to them the more you like them
Fantastisch , Wunderschön . Great , Alan Parsons .
What an incredible song and video, but I would expect nothing less from Alan. To view your life as a journey on the seas. This work has inspired me to view my own life from the same perspective. Thank you!
Alan Parsons is the best musical director of our time. Thanks for giving us years of music that is both wonderful and timeless. Love this!
The music is timeless keep your ingenuity of music alan
Will god bless you
Alan parsons is still the best. I love that the headpiece to the staff of Ra is on the chest. 😄
Sublime music and song.
Speechless and in tears...
dropping tears every time I listen to this tune and trying to understand why.....the first 2 bar intro certainly sets the tone.....
Alan Parsons is one of the finest producers of our time. I'm so glad he gave us one more album.
He did a superb job on the vocals.
I would say... don't believe this is the last... ;)
Patrick Read Johnson
Agreed. This world needs Alan Parsons more than ever.
@@thegood9 It comes across to me as a very classic Parsons-Woolfson kind of song. Up until just a few minutes ago, I didn't know this was a song that Woolfson was working on before he died.
@@stevestruthers6180 Agree with you. Hi from Parsons fan from Russia)
Alan Parsons really knows how to keep the new CD's coming out...he knows how to play the game...Love the music...I continue to compare his music for the best material and sound recording...all is good but some are better than others as with everything...✌️🎶
Genuinely cried watching this. I absolutely love this music video, and Alan's vocals just make it so much more heartfelt.
have a tough time hearing the orchestrated intro and not dropping a few tears.....dont know why, just know that it is.....
Just awesome. The story of a life.
This is a gem. Bravo, Alan!
Been listening to Alan Parsons music for four decades, and his music somehow continues to get better and better. What a talented man, musician and engineer. I am in awe of such talented people.
What an absolutely beautiful song and video; I love how it tells his story. He has the loveliest eyes.
The master has never lost his touch.
Love you Alan. Maybe I'll have this played at my funeral too.
Beautiful. Thank you for this.
Alan Parsons is one brilliant artist & engineer
The contribution will echo into eternity.
A wonderful tribute to Eric Woolfson, the master of melody - I love it !!!
it will be interesting, if Alan or anyone from Parsons, could tell us, how involved was Eric, in the production of the songs! to me that era, was one of the most important ones in Music History! God blees them all!!!!!!!!!!
@@robertomartinez-nl3ks Alan has widely and often acknowledged Eric as the songwriting brains of the group, with Alan writing mostly the instrumentals. As for the actual production, Eric usually left that to Alan's judgement. The most notable exception is "Don't Answer Me". Eric wanted reverb, Alan didn't, and Alan eventually gave Eric a "Wall of Sound"-esque reverb that made it a big hit.
Mostly, Eric wrote the songs and made rough demos. Then they worked out which performers would be on the song and Alan mixed and produced the final product.
@@ChristopherUSSmith And that Spectoresque treatment really became such a recognizable part of that song. Great yin and yang.
@@thegood9 Indeed. And the Mel Collins sax solo sealed it. :)
Art Rock at its absolute fines!!!!
To my brother Timothy September 16, 1957 - September 29, 2023. My hand was on his chest when the nurse took him off the respirator and I felt him breathe his last breathe, and felt his heart beat its last beat. I'll meet you there, brother, but not yet, not yet.
WHAT A VOICE……❤❤❤❤❤LOVE ALL YOUR MUSIC😊 😊
Me, Kelly 7:50p.m. 8/7/25❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great tribute to George. Love seeing his son as he follows in his Dads footsteps. Sure miss you George…..gone too soon. All the musicians are great in this song. 😊 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Your brother will wait for you❤ You will play like children again! This I believe!!
All I could do was smile as I watched this the first time. Great tribute and performance. Thank you Alan.
This song is so simple yet so beautiful. Well done, Mr. Parsons
I've been a fan since Book Camp in the Navy 1977 ... I Robot was our company music ... as a retired Senior Chief I can only say this Video and Music is truly one of your best ... Thank you for the music that has been apart of my life since I started my voyage across many waters and troubled seas ...
I salute you! God bless 😊
Aye in the Sky. :) Thank you for being part of the soundtrack for my life, Alan.
Aye in the Sky, indeed. Eric would be smiling that Alan finally came up with a good pop song all on his own. :)
Was that Eric raising his tankard, d'ye reckon?
@@brendangilmore4297 Yep, sure looked like him before they launched "The Project".
T'was. I also knew Eric and worked with him and Alan agreed with me that we should give tribute to him.
Alan Parrrrrrsons
I love EVERYTHING about this!!!!
Dad, if you ever see this, I miss you and I love you no matter what. Thank you for giving me life. I hope you find what you are searching for.
God bless you Lad!
He sees and hears it sir!
He sees and hears you loud and clear
James,
Dan Tracey here. Co-writer of this song.
I wanted to tell you that this comment absolutely floored me when I read it.
It’s every reason why I write songs.
God bless you and your Dad.
Best,
D-
You got me James...and you too, Dad...love you.
Eye in the sky is not dead. Will live forever. We love you Alan.
Alan is a gentle giant and has become one of my very favorite musicians, right up there with Jeff Lynne. Well done on the new album. We're not ready for any curtain calls yet!
Me too! JL's "When I was a Boy" has such a similar theme to this.
👍🏼👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I think it's smart of him to retire gracefully. There was a lot of good music, but not the same without Eric.
Another great song by Alan Parsons and this is a rare song that he sings this song it should be a top 20 hit
Just turned 60 last month. These words are my thoughts. No regrets and I would still travel the same roads.
Love this song! Another APP classic!
I've been loving Alan's music since the 70s. There is something special...touching about Alan's music.
Just amazing.
Wow, real music in 2019. I can't believe it. Real guitar, real voice with no auto-tune, and meaningful lyrics. What a nice change.
💜
Considering the recent trite rubbish like that latest collaboration by Sheeran and Bieber (why would any producer in their right mind pitch correct or auto-tune Ed Sheeran?) of late I couldn't agree more.
Regardless of the year, if it's Alan Parsons, you will get real, high quality music. It's such a nice relief compared to all the crap, like Cardi B or Sheeran's "The Shape of You".
True music is the best we have
Me gusta la canción, pero digo que me hubiera gustado que Alan Parsons cantara las demás de su álbum.
❤I have never heard this before…..LOVE IT……LOVE YOUR VOICE😊🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
Incredibly underrated!
Dad's always been an Alan Parsons Project fan, I showed him this song maybe 6 months or so before I lost Dad to cancer. Glad he got to hear this song.
Alan Parsons is a genius. And this is a beautiful farewell song. Thanks for the music! Eye in the Sky and the Beatles most classic albums, that's a major contribution.
Filling yr heart with peace and joy, marvellous! Lots of respect, Ruud
RIP ERIC, YOU ARE ALIVE IN OUR HEARTS 💚💚💛💛🧡🧡❤❤💖💖💜💜💙💙
That’s Alan Parsons! I love him!
This is so beautiful and needs to be heard by lots and lots of people.
This is a great song.
Thank you for being part of my musical journey through the decades.
Maybe one of the most talented musicians of all time. He has such an ear for music and his production artistry was ahead of its time in the 70’s and it shows in the end of ya know...THE YEAR 2019. Unbelievable.
Beautiful
I am in the middle of the pandemic and I find this wonder, I hear his voice without autotune, I follow the whole trajectory in minutes and it seems that I was there, so much that my life was rocked by his music. RIP Eric! Love Alan! I hope to see Alan and Gilmour together one day, it would be a dream come true.
One of a plethora of hidden gems from this genius and his cohorts.
Just saw him tonight in NYC 9/17/19 at The Town Hall he played this song live sounded even better.
Him saying "one more dance behind the moon" gives me butterflies in my stomach I swear!!
I can't believe how lucky I am...
I have been a big fan of Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson since APP started. It’s too bad they never toured in their heyday. They would have been huge.
But to his credit Parsons has toured with various bands in the last several years. His music is unique , colourful, dreamlike and unmistakeable .
Great , heartfelt song . And in Parson’s own voice! Love it as well as One Note Symphony .
Sure hope he’s going to be ok for at least a few more years!
As a child, in september 82, I went with my grandfather on a wonderful trip, both of us together, and on the trip we discovered Alan Parsons Music, because in that place we visited, we heard on the radio the song Eye in the Sky, and we both loved it. My grandfather bought for me the LP back then, and that song became the soundtrack for that trip, the memories my grandfather. I am so glad to have Alan Parsons with us, offering us wonderful music, and wonderful videos. In the world of today we are almost forgetting what good music is, and we are losing the culture of music videos. Thank you very much from an fan for many many years. And as Patrick Read Johnson remarks in his comment, thank you to the whole team that made this production possible, it is like coming back to life, this time in a paradise. Best regards, Miguel Ángel.
One of the best Parson's songs in a long time!! I LOVE it!!
Il pirata Alan parson grande
My deepest regard to Mr. Alan Parson and all persons who was on his crew. Your music guys was a tune to my life. Literally. From my youth to now advanced age. You was playing background music to my love conquests, automobile races, tragedys and victorys. I salute you for fantastic music and vise text. Only i wish is more. Now im old and wise so dont answer me... its only a turning a friendly card ..in time...
I love You guys for beautiful soundtrack to my life...The onl thing i wish is to meet you to epress my gratitude...
👍🏼
I am sure if Alan ever reads your comment, it will touch him. I can only imagine being such an icon in the music industry and having someone claim your music was the soundtrack to their life. What a wonderful compliment. I always smile just when an occasional person enjoys one of my songs. This is awesome.
My best friend passed away 8 years ago and i really miss him, this song makes me think of him :( I´ll meet you were light falls one day buddy.....
Just what you need to make you feel better.
@magic jones - you are most definitely the man to carry on Alan Parsons work. Your drums just seal the deal. Your engineering makes it great.
So cool to see these grown men having dreams and hopes. Truly see God in these men. So inspiring. Great music video.
2020 I did not know APP. This year since I first heard SIRIUS, and then all of his songs both my hubby and I have been listening every single song os Alam Parson's song. My fave is always "Eye in the sky" followed by "Dont answer me" and this one. Just to name a few. To hear Alan Parson on stereo is so lovely. Amazing group. Love Alan Parson. Hope he produces a lot more to his already big collection of hits. What an amazing voice. They belong to SOLID ROCK
Walked the plank of the "Rose Floyd". I see what you did there Alan. Nicely done.
The captain of The Project, forever in my heart.
Man, how I needed to hear that song right now. Thank you, Alan.
Thanks for the music !
This is now my favourite song of yours Alan, it makes me cry because it reminds me of when my boy was young and we would play pirates and I'd often listen to 'Tales of Mystery' on an original 70s cassette on the car stereo.
I had it on Album form, While my friends were buying Bad Company and Zep. Always preferred Prog to Pop.
@@yadigjamesgang-xs7jj I think you could call 70s Led Zep prog-rock, I think Alan Parsons Project are more art or symphonic rock or even pop, than say progressive bands of the time who displayed virtuosity within their respective supergroups, I'm talking about bands like Yes and Emerson, Lake and Palmer and that sort of thing where it is technically off the scale in difficulty of execution.
It made you cry?
I'm glad you said this.
It made me cry as well.
Really. The feeling of nostalgia overwhelmed me when I heard I the first time, and at my age, "this will me my curtain call" is all too real.
Thanks for your comment.
Awesome!!!! Please play this song in concert!!
Please!!!!! Can’t wait!!!!
Alan is a pure history of music! A treasure!!!
Thanks alan. For everything. My stepfather showed me your music and i never regret it (i'm 30 yrs old now) and i was listening to your music since i was 6/8/10 years old. I cant remember :) greetings from germany
Dennis.
My lord and Master Alan Parsons, who i follow since i was 12 years old. Have met him and his lovely wife when he came to Argentina, several times. He reached to sign my pregnant belly. Lots of love from Silvia, Hugo Caro and all the 1.0 fans from Argentina.
I have been an Alan Parsons dis-hard fan, since I heard “The Raven” on an old transistor radio, and I immediately purchased the debut album by the APP, when it came out in 1976. I was big fan of Edgar Allen Poe. I have all his APP albums, in addition to most, if not, all. When “The Secret” was released, I loved the them of magic. So I ordered it right away. I have a lot of favorite songs. However, “As Lights Fall,” falls in my top 3 Alan Parsons songs. GREAT news is that I will be seeing Alan perform 25 minutes away from me, on February 3, 2022, and I have a ticket for a really good seat. ❤️❤️❤️
Back to old qualities.
Listening feels like coming home.
👍👍
this is clearly "dad music"! indeed i am a dad. i was a huge alan parsons fan back in those days, but lost track after "gaudi". this new song is not really impressive, but it brings back memories and feelings and that's why it works. at least for dads.
Magnificent song .... Alan Parsons is a genius. I've enjoyed his music since the 1970s.
Life keeps flowing like a river, to the sea.
But time
Keeps flowing like a river
To the sea
After all you gave there was nothing left to save
😊😊😊 this song is perfect I love it x one of my favourite song xx brilliant alan xx
Happy Trails Alan! Thank you for the tunes for the majority of my life! I am forever indebted to you.
Clean sound - artistry...
The shots of Alan strumming his guitar were filmed in his backyard near Santa Barbara.
Make sure to catch his cat jumping up at 3:58
So many people have no idea of actually who Alan really is and how much he had his expertise involved with...He Engineered Dark Side of the Moon.
He's in the final Beatles video on the roof of Abbey Road where he worked.
The cat was pretty clever... We didn't plan that. The little trickster just waited for the exact right moment to get its cameo.
I love you❤❤❤
Just as I was about to abandon all hope, a real song with a real music video saves the start of the 21st century. BRAVO. Gentle, sentimental, meaningful and melodic in one thick rich unapologetic slice. 🏆
Mr. Parsons....you indeed look the part of a pirate in this video. Let me tell you that I find your music fascinating.
So amazing...My brother just contacted me yesterday to say he's been obsessed with your older stuff and 'did we listen as kids?'- yes we did. Sent him this today. What timing....I was actually seized, shocked and felt what I use to feel way back when GOOD MUSIC was released. Incredible to feel that foreign old feeling. Great great Track!
