Grammy Award Winning legendary music icon and master of progressive rock, Alan Parsons will return with a new album, “The Secret” via Frontiers Music Srl.
Alan’s longtime hobby has been performing magic and this brand new album showcases his own passion for the craft, hence the title “The Secret.” The album sees a return to the pop rock sound with symphonic and progressive rock interludes which the Alan Parsons Project was known for.
"Magic has always been a passion of mine, I am a member of The Magic Castle in Los Angeles. I've also worked with the Japanese magic company Tenyo, writing instruction books and catalogs for their tricks. I dabble with magic myself in my free time, so an album with magical influences was a natural progression”.

Jared Mahone's voice melts the heart like butter. An extremely talented man with a heart of gold, a prolific songwriter and vocal tone like honey. I hope to hear him on more AP projects!

Wonderful song. Perhaps, instead of using it solo this should've entered the UK Eurovision heat in a 3 minutes shortened version, I'm pretty sure it'd been chosen to participate and very likely also won, going on to even win the Eurovision itself. I really think it could've been done, the UK's first victory in many years and putting AP right back on the musical map again, internationally. What a classic winner it'd been, being such a classic style and memorable tune. Oh well, one can dream.

Just for the sake of conversation......this song sounds like one of Barry Manilow's ballads from the 70s and 80s. Too bad they didn't use him as his voice and this song are classic "Manilow".
Sorry, have to agree to disagree. APP is in another zone to Manilow. Manilow sang middle of the road ladies songs. Parsons stuff is on a deeper level.

As I get older it just gives me chills now...When I hear an artist or band like AP that I've been a fan of for 40 years drop such a great song out of nowhere. THANK YOU! Never heard of the movie this song is from but looks interesting. Especially the main actor was from "Freaks and Geeks". Loved that show! Can't wait to hear the entire NEW AP album.

Amazing - taking a trip back to 81 82 83 84 - thank you Sir - made my day - beautiful lyrics and song - the orchestra arrangement is perfect - just wish the guitar solo were a little longer - extended version perhaps?
Well put sir. And that guitar solo was cut short IMO as well. Could have extended for at least another 30 sec. for full effect.

Fantastic new track! I had it on one track repeat yesterday, listening to it 4 times in a row! Profound lyrics! And Jared Mahone’s voice reminds me of the late great @EricWoolfson! Plus, no one beats Ian Bairnson on guitar! So glad you brought him back!
Bairnson is great, but music isn’t a competition.
Nothing compares to the original APP band. Eric was unique, and Bairnson, and Colin, and Lenny Zakatek, and many others. Olsson is not very good, unfortunately and the British musicians were far better than the American ones but well... you know... he fell in love with a chick and left for the States. What a pity and what a waste.
Sounds like the ols Alan Parsons Project, brings back some good old memories .....😌
