Purchase this filter at filterheads.com/products/cabin-air-filter-air-qualitee-aq1241 The air flow arrow should be pointed towards the cabin compartment.
had to comment because this was so helpful, found it easiest to lay on my back and look up towards the glove compartment to install, however i realize not everyone fits that way... but it took less than 5 min!
Wish it was that easy for me.. I'm 6'5 and had no way of getting under there comfortably to grab it good. Hopefully my wife can wiggle under there and do it
Anyone doing this, ensure you use the 'squeeze and push' method like Filterheads did at the end. It's really the only reasonable way to get your new filter in without ruining it.
I work as a honda tech and looking for this on my brothers nissan rogue was so dumb. Why is in such a tight space and even worse to take out/put back in
With the size of the housing door you will need to pinch the middle of the filter and rotate it into the housing. Once you get the filter in the correct orientation it will fill out properly in the housing.
Yes the installation is the same on the 2017 model. Purchase the cabin air filter for your 2017 Nissan Rogue here. We have free shipping in the US and Canada www.filterheads.com/AQ1241
Also, agree on the terrible design. So far everything - from major to minor - that I've had to do with this Rogue has been a headache. My 4Runner is a night and day difference, almost everything on my 4Runner makes sense and also feels designed durable enough to work on without breaking (like every plastic part on the Nissans).
I'm so angry at how they engineered this thing. I've been trying to open it for 30 min with no success. You make it look so easy. My Xterra had the filter behind the glovebox and it took 30 secs to swap out. I bet this design was intentional because you're almost forced to have them do it with as bad as this is
This is ridiculous😖 Look up how to change the in cabin filter on a Mazda 6..... engineering simplicity at its finest......I'm typing this after I just got done changing my wife's filter on her Rogue😬

The air flow arrow should be pointed towards the cabin compartment.
Changing the filter is challenging enough. I'm most impressed by getting the camera angle to show it!
Your instruction on squeezing the new filter when installing is the key for success thank you
You're welcome!
Chris Mylett i
After squeeze it, much easier for me to install the new filter. But still it is very bad design Nissan.

Thanks for sharing!! This install is definitely a stretch.

I stuggled, I still don't think it's in there right
The dealer just offered to change this for my wife. She wisely said no. This is something I can do, thanks to this video!
We are happy to help you save.
They charge like 69$ for just filter and told them no cuz filters dose not cost that much and said no I can do it this is over priced

Thank you for informing us! It seems silly to install it in that method but it is the best way to install on most Nissans.
Excellent method. I was fighting this thing for 20 mins, thank you. And yes very terrible design.
You're welcome and thank you for watching!
Straight, and to the point! Great video. Thanks!
You're welcome!
Ok, I'm ready to remove and install on my wife's Rogue.. where's the best place to buy one? THanks

@@filterheads PERFECT - thank You.. how about a 2016 BMW 428i Convertible F33?
@@filterheads DONE
I work as a honda tech and looking for this on my brothers nissan rogue was so dumb. Why is in such a tight space and even worse to take out/put back in
It certainly is not designed for convenience
I will never understand what goes through the heads of Nissan's design team.
They are a bunch of goobers.

What about the air flow. These filters are directional. You have to have the air flow arrow toward the cabin compartment.
Yes you are correct, the air flow arrow should be pointed towards the cabin compartment.
It look so easy to install.
Thank you for watching!
Uumm does this work with the 08 version?. All videos for my 08 rogue was on the driver side, and wow It was a pain but easy, like 4 minutes easy
The 08 install is similar to this video linked here. ua-cam.com/video/j3PrPSCsYWw/v-deo.html&feature=emb_title
@@filterheads thanks!
Do you need to remove the glove compartment in order to access the air filter?
In this video we did not remove the glove compartment to access the cabin air filter.
Thanks!
You're welcome!
Does this need to be done when the car is cold & hasn't been ran?
It is good to change the cabin air filter once a year or every 15,000 miles. The car should be turned off when changing the filter.
Is it hard to put the filter in? I have the part but I a bit nervous I won’t be able to put back in
With the size of the housing door you will need to pinch the middle of the filter and rotate it into the housing. Once you get the filter in the correct orientation it will fill out properly in the housing.
I did it!! Thanks so much. The dealership wanted to charge $60!!! I said helll nooo
what about a 2017 Nissan Rogue is it below the glove compartment

Nissan dealer wanted 69.99 to do this... glad i only use them for free oil changes and tire rotations.

Sure do! I’m sitting in the lobby at Nissan right now! I refuse to give the dealership $60 for something so simple to do! I’ll replace it myself.
The most stupid design ever
Yes Nissan's Engineers did a poor job with this design.
the stupidity continues with the Sentra and Altima unfortunately
MINI Tech here, Mazda is worse, MINI is worse, this is easier than the MINI clubman and countryman
Omg why does that have to be in such an awkward spot!
This is definitely one of the most difficult to access filter housing locations.

I agree it is a poor design.
🤣 the cover was pulled off so dang fast I couldn’t get a idea of what part I had to grab. I’m struggling getting the cover off
There is a plastic loop that you can grab on to the bottom of the door pulling on this will help un latch the housing door.
Super clumsy design. All the dirt caught in the filter will fly all around the cabin when extracting the filter.
Yes, Nissan's installation process is poorly designed.
2014 is drivers side*
Thank you for informing us!
Not mine...
What country are you in? Is your driver's side on the right? If so that's why
Canada, driver is on the left
Sorry, I was asking David who claims the 2014 filter is on the drivers side (which is not correct)
Not for 2009…
AQ1241 filter fits the Nissan Rogue 2014-2017
