BEST at showing full install with numbers and torque
We appreciate the feedback!
Excellent video. Thanks
Glad you liked it!
The simplest video out thanks ‼️
Be sure to check your valve stems for clearance if they are inside the wheel. There are low-profile stems available.
Good note!
Where did you get the suspension kit with the spindle and everything I'm looking to get my front suspension set up with control arms before installing this kit
Also will stock suspension work with this kit or did you have to Frankenstein a bunch of pieces together?
The suspension kit is from UMI. It is their GM A-body Stage 2 kit. Summit sells the spindles.
Yes, stock suspension will work with this kit.

Did you run a washer and shim you front of the bolt ??? If so did that help with the spacing for the brake pads????
Yes we did run a shim, but it didn't change the brake bad mounting
those look like the rear calipers not the front set. is that right?
This is definitely the front set. Wilwood produces these so you can mount them on either side of the spindle, depending on your set-up. We just mounted them on the fwd side vs the rear.
@@midatlanticcustoms thanks for the quick response! I'm helping a friend, just got the instructions, had him send me links to what he ordered so i can sort rear from front. noticed the front has smaller pads but four pistons but the rear has unusually larger pads with only 2 pistons.
Yeah, I would double check part #s. Wilwood makes lots of different variations of these, and it's easy to mix them up!
One pad had a lil play on 1 side is that going to be a issues for me and when i add more shim to fill the gap the other was tight but here the thing they go in nice i just have a lil play
A little play shouldn't be an issue, as long as it isn't excessive
@midatlanticcustoms ok thanks I was a little worried
@@midatlanticcustoms great video very detailed that helps alot
Great video bro very detail i love it ? Did you have the cut the spindle due to i think i might have the cut mine 78 inpala landeu
Thanks! Nope, did not have to cut the spindles
What spec master cylinder bore size etc ?
Details on disc brake kit: www.wilwood.com/brakekits/BrakeKitsProdFront?itemno=140-10996-DR
We're using wilwood's master cylinder with this kit. You can check them out on their website above.
Did you run the same stud or did you go longer???
Same studs
calliper bracket on the wrong side ? and bleeders need to go up, caliper on the rear side towards the back
Calipers have bleeders on both ends, so they can be installed in either configuration. The brackets are in the correct orientation. Check the assembly instructions here: www.wilwood.com/BrakeKits/BrakeKitsProdFront?itemno=140-10996-DR
Calipers should be on back side of spindle. Firewall side, not tie rod side
@@gaslightapparel2443 direct from wilwood's manual: "*NOTE: Some applications for this kit have the steering arm to the rear of the spindle and others to the front. Also, some applications have room to mount the bracket and caliper on the steering arm side of the spindle while the steering arm may interfere in other applications. The brackets in this kit may be mounted on either the front or rear side of the spindle."
What exact kit was this?
The Wilwood Part # for the kit is: 140-10996-DR
Did yo have to Modify the spindle great video I have the same set up I wish I could find a video for my b body
Thanks! Nope, this is factory style spindle and no modifications required. Just can't run anything smaller than 15" wheel with this set-up. Some 14" may work.
Hello im doing the same exact set-up got a quick question do you use red or blue loctite for each set up such as the bolts for the hub as well as the adapter plate and rotor
Things that you won't be servicing regularly (wheel hub adapter brackets, spindle bolt nuts, etc) you can use the red loc-tite. The other serviceable items (caliper bolts) it's best to use blue loc-tite. Hope this helps.
All man thanks for the quick response that helps alot been watching your video step by step and it's helping alot yours is the best I've seen on UA-cam that even i can understand appreciate it👍
@@dewaynemitchell3931 thank you for the support, and glad the videos are helping! The feedback is greatly appreciated
@@midatlanticcustomsgot another quick question if you can help on the black rotors it's an arrow on each of them if you're facing them one would be going clockwise and the other counter clockwise so would the clockwise arrow go on the passenger side rotor and the counter clockwise go on the driver's side right
@@dewaynemitchell3931 yes, that would make sense. I've seen different companies set it up in different ways. What is the part # for the kit you are installing ?
Where you get spindles
Summit has them: www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-ck1000-1/make/chevrolet/model/chevelle/year/1967
What size socket for the studs ???
Don't have it handy, but hopefully you got it figured out
Yup I got it thanks
What is the part number for the hole kit thank you
140-10996-DR
Thanks
Can't wait to see the car love the chevy have 70 grand prix in process of restoration of it
Nice video but man 😢 did them backwards
Direct from wilwood's manual: "The brackets in this kit may be mounted on either the front or rear side of the spindle."
Spindle factory or other
We replaced the spindle before we installed this kit. The OEM spindle had a large amount of wear at the bearing interface.
