Been using blender on and off for over a year with not much success, in literally just over an hour using this 10min video i've finally created something that i'm proud of and can continue to build on and expand! Amazing video, thank you so much for being clear, concise and easy to follow along.
at 8:00 if your window isn't insetting...check "boundary" once the pop up window appears. Mine stayed unchecked after the door inset adjustment to pop up window.
The only Blender tutorial that I followed till the end. It was so detailed and well-explained. Thank you so much for rekindling my interest in Blender once again. Much love 💕
8:13 - if you're trying to scale the size of the window frame but it's changing the entire shape of the window too, you may have Proportional Editing turned on. Press O to turn it off and you should be fine.
Thank you for making this so simple and easy to follow. Complete beginner to blender and being shown which tool to use, and the shorcut needed, will certainly help in other projects.
@2:11 If you're having trouble getting a smooth bevel on the roof because the edges aren't aligning properly, try merging the roof's layers so they're connected. Here's a solution that worked for me: 1.Make only the roof visible (in the collection menu at top right). 2. Select all vertices by pressing the A key in Selection Mode. 3. Press M, then choose "Merge by Distance" to close any small gaps or connect any loose vertices. 4. Try beveling again. :)
I came to this channel after finishing the Blender tutorial. Your videos are great for modeling to work on when I have learned the basic operations. Thank you ☆
Wonderful tutorial, please keep going making tutorials clear like this. Really amazing. Essential, precise, interesting, clever. Without no sense words.
Just want to take a moment to follow this tutorial through and was so happy to see how well everything was explained through out. I appreciate it was quick, informative, and simple. I want to do bigger and more complex designs, but I'm glad I forced myself to dig until I found something as simple as this house. I definitely learned a lot today and it was just nice making it to the end and seeing my own results. There's only one thing that tripped me up and it was the inset on the window that just didn't work. I fixed it by extrudeing just a tinny bit, but I ended up messing things up with the loop cut haha. Luckily, you really can't tell a difference at the very end. So I call it a win XD
Ok at 5 minutes, if the Boolean wasnt cutting like mines, You gotta go to viewport overlays and under geometry click face orientation. If your door is red, select it and go into edit mode. Once in edit mode, click alt+N and flip normals so your door should now be blue. Then do the Boolean part of the tutorial again and it should work!
Awesome!!! I am working on modeling the Ohio State Reformatory where Shawshank was filmed. It is only 3.6 miles from my house. Tried photogrammetry without much success as I can't photograph the entire perimeter. They built the new prison right behind the old one so access to the rear is limited. Drone flying is not an option for obvious reasons. I have the footprint of the facility laid out and rather than wasting days randomly trying to modify shapes I checked out a few videos and this is the one I saved to go back and forth and get the ball rolling! Great job on specifying all the values and keystrokes! Now I can get busy...
This was so fun, my house did not turn out as good as I got side tracked with the windows but neitherless this was awesome and I will keep on learning how to make all this stuff. This also helps with 3d printing and trying to make items for that. Cheers
Unlike others who made a 2+ hours of the same thing this is the easiest tutorial I've seen by far, thank you 🙏 would like more videos like this probably a whole neighborhood fully done with 3d characters🙈
Excellent tutorial. I love hearing the AI voice speak in an American English accent with terrible grammar. Doesn't matter though, because you killed it.
Good tutorial to grasp the basic tools for low poly modeling. I'm new to Blender but was able to make changes to the house during to process to better fit my liking and have now started modeling random bottles, bags and lamps around my home for practise. It's actually really fun. The only shame about the video was the AI voice, it would be nicer to hear a human speak instead. The captions were great though and I'm super glad I stumbled across this video. Great job!
Thank you, Sir...I followed this tutorial, which I deem to be interesting! I actually had some problems in creating an opening in the house walls (minute 4.38 / 4.42) by letting the "Location" option uncheked in the Apply Object Trasnform menu, after choosing Rotation and Scale - as you did in the video tutorial. After many attempt, I checked also "Location" and I finally managed to use the Boolean modifier to create an opening in the house walls. I am a novice to Blender: can you please give me an explanation?
incredible how many times i had to to go back a rewatch the most basic step like insetting a door or do i click off of the house fist or do i click while it is selected. the automated voice is very hard to understand when it seems to be sped up 1357827657365x
Just an honest opinion without any hate I tried blendergurus donut tutorial but i could learn way more from this 10 minute video than that whole playlist
At 02:00 the edges of your roof are perfect 90 degree angles. Mine doesn`t do that, they go more diagonally towards the bottom. Could you please explain how to solve this?
Gosh, trying to learn Blender when tutorials are "old" and use fairly older versions than your own sucks so much, hopefully this one will go smoothly for 3.6.2 users
I figured it out. For others having the same issue, I hit g and moved my cube further back into the walls. After using the eye dropper hide the cube in the viewport
After adding 2 cuts on the window when I try to scale down the entire window is getting squeezed, I don't understand how to do it without the window getting squashed inwards... Please help
Finally someone that actually specifies what to input in every single step! Thank you!

If you cant intersect the window, select the boundary option which you disselected when intersecting door

Yeah it happened to me too, its because we turned off the 'boundary' option when making the door. Just turn it back on!
