I was only a baby about the point these were released alongside the launch of BBC News channel and I have to say I love these. Kind of wish BBC kept these. The flags really bounce of the BBC one balloon quite well. Among the many best things to occur after the corporate brand refresh of '97. They would probably still stand the test today
I’m much older than you; by at least 39 years if those original titles were from 1997, at least we liked those flags, as at the time was shocked by that Joe Glasman title music, flags and studio set.
@@jacksugden8190 Joe Glasman didn't do the N24 music. He was responsible for the World package. This was by Dave Hewson, Alan Coates and Kim Goody (Hewson of ITV News fame).
@Anthony Pond George Fenton was responsible for the network news music at the time, the blue coat of arms look and Newsnight, but the N24 package was Hewson, Coates and Goody. BBC World of this era (1997-1999) was Joe Glasman.
@Delta Boogaloo As much as you like it, we don't agree with you, it would've been totally wrong for BBC News 24 not to refresh to the david lowe cream era from October 1999 with regions and Breakfast to follow in the year ahead. The cream era was much better going into the new millennium
Imagine being 7 years old waking up at 6am to find your grandpa's awake before you and is watching BBC News 24 and the Flags theme is playing... and you decide not to argue to change the channel
