My wife and I planned a trip back in April to Dallas. My main reason for coming was the stockyards in FW along with eating Texas BBQ. I fell in love with Dallas. Certain elements reminded me of areas here in NC. Strongly considering moving to Dallas.
Glad to hear you enjoyed your time in Dallas! The Stockyards are always a highlight, and nothing beats Texas BBQ. @@LIVINGINDALLAS I really enjoyed downtown Dallas. I’m a sightseer by nature. I drove all over the DFW metro area. I really enjoyed the amenities of Arlington, Irving, and Grand Prairie. We plan to come for a week in 2025. I will be in touch.
I want to point out that this is a really great cons list of DFW! You guys also did a great job of explaining things. Some people online and certain forums way over exaggerate things. I’m not originally from here, it been here for 13 years. If you watch this video and nothing really scares you or turn you off, it’s a really great place to live! For both fun and raising a family! Centrally located so most places are a short flight away!
The spiders are the big thing for me. I like the idea of having outdoor living spaces and I see people with these couches outside. What keeps me away from that is the fear of sitting down and spiders in the cushions. It’s never happened, but it’s a fear. I typically have stools or chairs that are easy to inspect for critters before sitting down and I limit being out there at night because that’s when they like to come out. We also have an exterminator come out every quarter.
Windsong Ranch is great! But 380 from Lewisville Lake to 75 is a freaking grind. In my opinion, the most dangerous "strode" in DFW. It's always congested and the multiple lanes of traffic with no median combined with high speeds is straight up scary. I hate driving out there now. I used to ride horses at different barns out there. From 2010-2013, I drove on 380 everyday no problem for off campus PE. Now I'd be terrified to have a teenager brave 380.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I can definitely see how 380 can be a challenge with all that traffic. Appreciate you tuning in! what brings you to the channel now by the way?
Glad you liked it! We've featured these areas multiple times on this channel, so feel free to browse our videos. If you're still open to some choices, shoot me a text or call. 214-441-6684.
I went to CT/NJ and NY this summer and it was about 99 degrees plus and most folks don’t have air conditioning so I prefer to stay in TX at least I have AC lol
Been in south west DFW area for over a year. Traffic... Not an issue. Compared to LA where a 24 mile trip to LAX took one to one and a half hour during non-rush hour, here from Mansfield 24.5 miles away is 30 to 45 minutes so far going at similar times to my LA trips. Drivers do odd things compared to other places in the US I have lived. Cicadas MAN those things freak me out! People just great! Food not so much unless you want to spend a bit more than west coast generally. Weather is rough for us but I love the thunder and so I get a TON of that! My wife hides when one of these crazy fronts moves through. Hail big enough to leave a bunch of cars near me with divots like golf ball sized with dozens of dents per car and many car windows broken.
Dallas can definitely have its moments, but I think every area has some extremes, whether it's heat, cold, or something else. Where are you living now? Are you in Dallas?
@@LIVINGINDALLAS Moved from NJ to Dallas and I regret it. Only thing I am happy about is no 1.5hr train commute to uptown and saving little bit extra on my pay cheque :)
@LIVINGINDALLAS No but they can crawl on the ceilings and drop into your bed while your sleeping. Regular pest control cannot kill them and they can sneak in through the cracks of your closed windows! ;)
Local here. Never been affected by a tornado. Just affected by the inflated housing prices. Was priced out in 2020 and prices just keep going up. Please stop moving here. lol

The weather this summer actually has been pretty good.

Texas is great just because of heat you can’t avoid
Can’t stand the heat, get out the kitchen! That’s what they say, don’t they?
@@LIVINGINDALLAS Even if you are at kitchen or outside kitchen you have to eat hot food whether it’s summer or cold. 😄
