If I were still in my 20s, I think I would've stayed but right now, mental health is everything to me.

Hi Jamie, thanks so much for sharing this. I started my new job (new role & industry) in Jan. Didn’t feel right from the start as I didn’t like the work environment & it just felt wrong. But just like most ppl here, I’m afraid of how a short stint will affect my CV, reputation, etc until I reached a point of depression, anxiety & super sad for 1+mth. Hi Jamie, I came across this video over LinkedIn. Thanks for sharing your story with such a neutral voice. If you remove all the names, I can just fill in my own and we've got the same experience! I joined a new publishing company in Singapore in August 2021 with hopes to grow professionally, but I left in 4 months as well. No regrets on my end either. Happy to hear a similar experience out there. Great video!
Hi Josephine! Oh no, I’m sorry to hear that you had to go through that but I’m super glad that we figured it out and we moved on to something new that suited us better! Appreciate your time and comment :) Cheers and let’s connect on LinkedIn!
Thanks for sharing! As a startup founder myself I find this video a great reminder as what to take note of when building my company team, culture the technical stuff. Thanks for sharing! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks KM! My old manager from Google wrote a book: From Zero To 1,000: The Organisational Playbook For Startups - I thought it was a great read! Thought to recommend it to you. Let me know what you think of it!
I really appreciate you. I hated the buzz function most and the worst thing was that they keep unnecessary secrets and there is always a curtain on policy. No credits are given for hard work and although they call themselves to be a flat hierarchy organization it's just a bluff... they drain you out..... saying always day 1.... It's always a draining day in Bytedance ... being a part of Bytedance I was always stressed. They also do lot of unethical things.
the point about making career decisions that seem to be a step backwards or making mistakes resonated with me! i, too, quit jobs 3 months and 6 months in because of company culture and scope of work! understanding what works best for you is really a form of self-care!
Thanks Rob(ot)? :) It’s tough to really ‘care’ about ourselves, but really ultimately we have one life, and I don’t want to spend it dreading my time. Glad some of the things I said resonated with you :D
dang you are the same with me, was in google for 2 years, now at tiktok for 3 months and just submitted my resignation letter :( the lark and CULTURE is on point.
Just applied a position in TikTok, thank you for your insightful sharing. I love how you logically present your thoughts objectively, and the fact that you put culture and value in such high priorities. It really got me thinking. ♥️✨
I’m currently going through the same experience and resonate with everything you shared! Thank you for being brave enough to share this! I no longer feel crazy, isolated or unjustified in how I feel!
Thank you for your video. I did made a very bold decision to quit my job too. I did go through the Monday blues, not inspired to do the things that I love most ie working out and was constantly feeling really tired. After long thoughts and I have discovered this is really not for me. I’ve left the company without a job. Now I have the freedom to choose my path again, I want to gather all my courage to do what I always dream of doing… am still paving my way and to be honest, it is scary but yet exciting.
Thank you Beegiak! I’m glad you are finding your way to what you want to do, it’s a tough journey but I’m sure it will be worth it. Kudos to you for chasing your dreams!
Google and TikTok are like an analogy though they are the same fruits but just taste differences... How nice if you can get back to Google, a great company many love to work and sometimes sleep in the company...
Everything you said about Lark was very verrryyyyy relatable. I feel similar about Slack and work hard to set boundaries, but it’s tough. The super fast paced startup life can be incredibly challenging. Thanks for sharing so candidly.
Thank you so much for sharing. Despite our different fields of work, your video helps me to start thinking deeper about how I've become unhappy with my job recently. Especially the part about my scope of work and constant interruption. Wishing you all the best for your new journey!
Thank you Jazztonish! Definitely hope that it brings some new perspective :) Feel free to add me on LinkedIn (drop a note) if you ever need to chat about changing jobs. My next video will be on 3 things I left before I did before I left each company and will be providing some resources / guides. Stay tuned for that!
Hey Jamie! I was one of your interviewees for the Organisational culture and employer branding intern role, was looking forward to have you as my mentor and supervisor, so I am sad to see you go :( Nonetheless, all the best for your journey ahead!!
Hey Raelene! Aww, but I’m glad you got the internship :) You’re gonna learn loads, but let’s also connect separately on LinkedIn and I’m happy to chat!
Jamie, love your frank comments and I hope more folks share why they quit or stay in their firms! To paraphrase what you said, maybe 4 months is kinda short before you quit. Tik Tok and Google are at different phases in their life cycle. The latter can be considered a global, established MNC along the lines of firms like Oracle, IBM, etc. Tik Tok, on the other hand, is a global Chinese startup trying to morph into a global player and growing pains will include disjointed processes, lack of clarity, etc. However, what I'm glad you did not encounter which in many circles is the number 1 reason why people quit is their immediate supervisor. As a recruiter, I've heard too many stories of supervisors who bully and disrespect their staff, have weird ways of working or totally disorganized, etc. Seems that from your relationships with people in TikTok/Bytedance, people are thriving to a common goal but there are frustrations along the way before and (hopefully), they can push through!
im a fresh engineering graduate, and joined my first company in engineering soon after, but left after 8 months as there were many changes in the company and didnt feel like i was learning or contributing much. soon after, joined my current company in manufacturing, in a planning role, and it has been close to 4 months (same position as you were in haha), and i really feel like quitting again.. just feel like a planning and coordination heavy job isnt suited for me, or aligned with my interests and my introverted personality. what should i do😖.. any advice for a career-confused bloke like me?😂
Great video! Thanks for sharing your experience. Totally agree that Culture matters, and true that sometimes, we learn after taking a wrong path. I need my emails, folders and to-do list too. ;)
Hey Jamie, thanks for the summary! So I am glad that I passed on a role being a customer success manager for Lark after hearing your candid end-user feedback.

I just wanted to say your timestamp that says "Dramatic Intro (haha)" was really dramatic haha. I really enjoyed this video and it was really interesting to see you break down your reasons for leaving in such a succinct way. The tip about probation periods being for both you and the company needs to be heard more by more people! I think people get scared to not leave their companies because they don't know how it will look like on their resume, but it's so, so important to not only be a culture fit but also be happy at your job!
Hi Georgia! Thanks for commenting and YES, the intro 🤣 I was trying to be honest! In all seriousness, I wanted people to know more about what I took away from this experience as well. It was actually a good colleague friend who pointed this out to me and changed my perspective and subsequently how I handled the situation. I agree, we spend most of our time at work so we really need to be happy :)

Just went through the same thing but in a different industry. I'm leaving after 3 months for most of the same reasons as you. Everyone told me to stay & work through it, you haven't been here long enough to get it but I just couldn't put myself through it anymore. I'm so glad there is others who have gone through what I have & had the same thoughts & reasonings. It makes me feel normal when everyone else told me I was giving up too soon & not trying hard enough. Thank you for speaking up & being really professional about it all. Good luck with the next role :)
Hi Bronte! I'm glad my video resonated with you - and yes we know ourselves best! I hope you're in a better space now, and have found something better!
Hi Jamie, I am wondering if you can share more about the journaling process you mentioned? I am kinda in the mist of figuring out things at work as well. Thanks in advance!
Hi Angela, I have some resources I shared in this video: ua-cam.com/video/YSxfE1bhR_Q/v-deo.html. Hope this helps, if not happy to chat more about writing your thoughts out etc! Do reach out on linkedin if needed :)
Nice one Jamie. All the best in your next endeavour. I actually did something similar. I was 10years in an MNC and decided to move. I went to a Startup and left after 4 months sometime in June 2021. My main reasons was culture and processes. It was tough on the culture change for me and it was draining me from my 2nd month. I left that job without a new job. But thankfully, after more scrutiny of the kind of job I wanted, I’m now in a better place. So you’re absolutely right about asking more questions in the interview. It really helps. Yes, don’t burn bridges!
Thanks for sharing Erni! I think it’s tough to acclimate to a new environment especially after we’ve been ingrained in one for so long, but good to know that we’re not alone! I’m so glad you’re in a better place now - wishing you all the best and let’s connect on LinkedIn!
Hi Jamie! Thanks for sharing these, it’s interesting to hear how Tiktok is like and how you navigate through to understand what your preferences were. I appreciate the honesty and am excited to hear where you’ll be going to next, and for you to thrive! All the best!
Oh no I’m so sorry to hear that Jewel, but I’m glad you did what’s best for yourself! i went through almost the exact same thing few months back, also with a china startup and those factors that you mentioned, kinda applied to me as well. Yes, i hate Lark/feishu too and is definitely more an email person. The culture is miles different especially for your case being in google for so many years. In the end, I am now happy to be back at a US western culture company
@@jiahongsong458 slack doesnt really feel like a complete solution imo. contrary to jamie and alex, i actually think lark is really amazing. if you love slack, you'll love lark even more because lark is like the best of every world. lark is like slack + teams + telegram bots + workspace packaged in a really nice modern UI, very well integrated and has many features that really just make sense
I think it’s pretty similar - so to what frog guy said below, you may probably like it! It’s just not for me as it doesn’t allow me to focus, so really to each his own! Definitely go check it out!
@@nrjknqda yeah no doubt lark is a very powerful solution with tons of fearures. Slack interface feels more like discord. I will say the hate is more towards the usage of it. For eg, searching is difficult when people are sending you information everywhere rather than email. The industry standard for video meeting is still teams or google meet. So it tends to be confusing when you are going to use multiple tools in the end
Hope you will talk about different r types of bosses you come across and how to manage toxic colleagues or bosses and company culture in your next video. Thanks
Came across your content via UA-cam recommendation! Glad that it happened! Enjoy your straight to the point content and keep up the great work 🙂👍 look forward to many more!
Thank you for sharing your experience. What you said and claimed is truly happening around my life, the Chinese working style is not suitable for anyone especially those who are desiring for personal and free time. Although I do not work in Tiktok I understand your feelings
Thanks for this video! This resonated alot with me, having left a job within months too. It was mainly the job scope which was not the right fit for me, but I acknowledge that it might have been more bearable if not for other reasons (culture) and I might have been able to tahan longer lol. But hey, maybe it was a good thing that there were other factors pushing me out too, because job scope is such a key reason and I might have “wasted” more time there instead of now back to a job scope that suits me more :)
Bold move to align your personal passions with your career to make the best use of your time. Good luck and continue to share with us how it goes here (many students are here)
Hey Andrew! I think I’m one of the Lucky ones to be able to identify and align my personal passions with my work, but yes definitely would love to share how it all goes after this :)
Hi Jamie. Great sharing! I’m thinking of handing over my resignation letter too next month as I don’t find the job fit my interest in long term and sort of felt like being alone because I didn’t get great cooperating within the team. Wish me luck! I’ve only been there for 4 months too! Might run before probation end because the notice period would be longer after the probation😅
Hi Jamie, I just started a new role last week. Last year, I quit my job in 2-3 months after too much unhappiness. My case was diff from urs - I kind of like the culture but not the bosses way of doing things. Simply put, it was on the edge of being toxic. Took me alot of hesitation as well cos it was my first job and I had a challenging job hunting process in this pandemic All the best to you!
Omg I’m currently in 1/2monthe into my first job and I really love the job culture and the people around too, but it’s just that my direct boss can be quite draining and haven’t been sure if I should stay to learn or take a leap of faith….
Thank for sharing! I felt a lot of the same things you mentioned in months 2-3 and am leaving my current job as well. Glad you found some clarity and made a decision that feels right to you :)
hey i work for BD as well. and I got to say Lark is amazing tools. i guess we both have different ways of work and I always thought lark is a blessing that every organization needs ! :) cheers !
Hi Jamie that was really insightful, am joining tiktok and have a better idea of what to expect. Am a young professional and your points really made me think of how I can work on my productivity and career building. Thank you for this video!
Hi Munny! Thanks so much and congrats at landing a job at TikTok! It’s going to be a wild ride, but go in with an open mind and learn as much as you can! All the best :D
Thanks for sharing, Jamie! As someone who has been through (and currently still is) the same boat as you could resonate to every point that you mentioned, especially the point on no regrets joining the comp, and in return we learn so much about ourselves. :) Happy for you that you have understood yourself better from the experience, wishing you all the best in your next move! :)
Thanks for the video! Really need this. Your takeaways definitely made me feel better as I was currently struggling in my new job and have intention of leaving. Thanks!! Your advices helped :)
You worked longer than me. I left after 3.5 months. What I learnt is that “never work in a place where a race’s culture is dominant at the management level”. I am so glad that I didn’t give the chance to my manager to make me fail and I quit by myself.
All the best! Great sharing of your thoughts on things you learned. I too have learned from what you shared and reflected on some parts on my own. Thanks!
Hi Kim! Thanks for your question :) I’d say it’s a mix of asking the interviewers the right questions, and seeing how they actually deal with. It’s also about feeling the ‘vibe!’ I’ve compiled a list of interview questions you could ask as well. I have another video on it, but this is the link to the resource and they are all free: jamielyy.gumroad.com/
Thanks for sharing. I quit my job after a few mths too. The company that I worked for is not MNC or SME. It's what ppl call it "iron rice bowl" job. Sarcasm & cold treatment from higher management. Collg that left told me that the turnover rate is super high. I started crying to myself after 1st mth of work cos the workload was too much & no support or direction from my AD. I qns myself if it's my prob. I have over 10yrs of working exp & this is my 1st time experiencing such thing. Even thou some of my frens told me to reconsider as it won't look gd on my resume. But I figured my mental health is more impt hence I decided to quit.
Hey piggilypig! I'm glad you made that choice for yourself - you know yourself best so it's good you trust your own gut. I hope you are in a better place now!
Hey piggilypig, I am in the exact situation as you but it's my first FT job as a fresh grad. I struggled so much in the role and was breaking down every single week. Thankfully, I manage to find another job now and will be tendering soon! Hope you have found something that's better and are happier now because we don't deserve that!
Thank you for sharing Jamie! Also I've got same experience working in Malaysia. While I'm working at there at the first I'm happy but later I feel unhappy and lost my creativity. Then I left my job after working one year. No regret and now I can get back to my creativity work. I'm really appreciate u. ❤️
Thank you Zarchi for your comment! I’m glad you are in a better place now - and yes to getting our creativity back after finding out what the root cause was!
Hey Jamie, thank you for sharing such a thoughtful, well-rounded and respectful perspective on your decision! Love the way you talked about the probation period and cutting losses if things are not working out - and how sometimes moves in a "wrong" direction actually help you understand what you want better. Wish you the best in your new role and I hope it brings you lots of positive energy!
The major point in here is `Culture` I would say the `Culture` between Chinese and West still quite different. As a Software Engineer who have stayed at both side in my past 9 years. I would say Chinese culture is more close to `finish the task` and `it's just a job, not your life`. You have to manage the mindset when you working in a Chinese style company. You are there to resolve the problem and make the company moving forward but not for making friend or family. It's more like Netflix, they said `we are not family`. They offer you higher salary and you solve the problem for them, that's it. No family, no friend there. It's still fine, right? If you have your ability to finish tasks earlier, you do have time to do what you want besides the job. You could have your own family life, friend after work. For people who can use to work in a Chinese company must able to separate their life and work. Life is the time after work, is the time with your family but not within office. And for Westen style. It's totally different. People are keen to make their friends in office, treat work as part of their life. Love to work in office but not work from home. When I was in another company in Westen word, my colleague even said, he felt sick because of working from home, he can't meet colleague so he doesn't know how to work (Which make me feel quite strange, how does your colleague showing physical effect the way you coding, but fine, I know that's his working and life style, respect). When working in Westen company, you have to treat work as part of your life and try to build your `family` in office as well. So people don't need to separate their life and work, the thought the work is part of their life. Both styles are okay and with their own drawbacks, it's just depends on which way is the best for you.
You’re very brave to voice out and putting everything so diplomatically. I also decided to move from an MNC to a startup. I realised I missed the benefits, and proper SOPs on daily tasks. Thank you.

I feel you! All the best on your next adventure!
wow Jamie wow, a lot to unpack many to relate, and making me question my current role 🙃 keep going 🤗
Just applied a position in TikTok, thank you for your insightful sharing. I love how you logically present your thoughts objectively, and the fact that you put culture and value in such high priorities. It really got me thinking. ♥️✨
Thank you so much Lucy :)
I’m currently going through the same experience and resonate with everything you shared! Thank you for being brave enough to share this! I no longer feel crazy, isolated or unjustified in how I feel!
Oh no Mich, I hope things get better for you soon, and glad my video has helped somehow!
Kudos to you for chasing your dreams!
such a brave move from Google to Tiktok, thank you for sharing your experience!
Thank you Shadow!
Same for me, when I moved to a new IT startup company recently & left within a month. You have spelled it out
Sorry to hear that Jemy but I hope you're happier wherever you are at now :)
Thanks for commenting Bri! Yeah, slack and lark definitely aren’t for me. Thanks for watching!
@@Jamielimyinyin Thank you Jamie!! I have sent the request on Linkedin to connect!
I need my emails, folders and to-do list too. ;)
Thank you pqwish! Appreciate your words and looks like we work the same way! :D
Thank you Jamie for sharing. And good luck for your next journey 👍
Thank you Yusni for watching, commenting and for the wishes!
Leaving TikTok after 4m took balls. I'm really glad you put yourself and your boundaries first. All the best! 🔥
Thanks Mel as always for the support!
Thanks Jamie for sharing! Hope i can be your student 1 day : )
Thank you for watching Boon! We can learn together ;D
Very interesting. Finally a video about the tech field that a non-tech person can understand.
Thanks so much Mary!
Hey Jamie, thanks for the summary! So I am glad that I passed on a role being a customer success manager for Lark after hearing your candid end-user feedback.
Thank you for your honest and transparent sharing. I went through almost exactly what you had experienced and decided to quit too, in 45 days.
Hi Sharon! I’m sorry to hear that, but I’m glad that you made a choice that’s made you happier! :D Takes a lot of courage to do so :)
Thanks for sharing Jamie! I'm so sad to see you go :( My first day at Tiktok is literally this upcoming week! This is considered my "bold career move" as it is nothing related to my qualifications! All the best for your future career!
Oh wow! Congrats Irfan on getting in! No doubt you’ll learn lots - I hope you enjoy the experience there! Definitely take it with an open mind :D Let’s connect on LinkedIn :)
what position did u applied for? im thinking to work at tiktok too and also a position which i never studied before, but im willing to learn though
Thank you for sharing your experience. What you said really resonated with me, and helped me think through my own career experience where I am.
Thank you WJ! Hang in there :) Reach out if you ever need a chat - but journaling and writing a pros and cons lists helped me throughly :) Putting it on pen and paper somehow really helps!
Thank you for sharing your insights. I’m approaching my 1st month as a ByteDancer and I am assessing my employment with them while they assess my performance as well. This is helpful! More power to you.
All the best! Yes, do what’s best for you! As I said, there are folks there thriving so it’s really a personal thing :)
@@Jamielimyinyin hi Jamie! I went back to this video of yours and searched you on LinkedIn. I’m trying to connect with you as well 😇🙏🏻 I remembered your vlog cause guess what- my current status is I can totally relate to you! 💯 😭 This feeling and dealing with work everyday is awful 😣. I saw that your content and expertise are more on self and career development. I hope to hear from you more and you might be the one to help me. I’m in my late 20s and I guess I’m having this feeling of self-pressure, lost and shameful that I am not doing something significant to go to the path where I really want my life to be. 😖💔
Hey hey, if you connect with me on LinkedIn drop me a message? Then I know it’s you and we can chat further - see how I could perhaps help :)
I'm starting a role at Tiktok in next month as a fresh graduate and I've been following your journey since the video you've posted about Tiktok. I think its a brave move on your part to move and I loved the way you were able to give a non biased view of your journey. Wishing you more success in your career progression Jamie!
Hi Jas congrats on getting a role at TikTok! Enjoy your time there, it’s truly an interesting place with lots of things to solve - and thank you so much for the kind words. Wishing you all the best too!
@@Jamielimyinyin Thank you so much for your well wishes and I'm super excited to start a role there ! Could we connect on linked in please? Would love to know more about your career journey (:
@@jasn8485 Hey, do you have any idea about the psychological test that some content moderators in Tiktok have to take?
@@jasn8485hello! How’s the experience working in TikTok so far?
Nice sharing for everyone else who apply there
Thank you for all of this… many times we are just grateful, for a job and feel that being tired and burn out from work is a byproduct tof this century. I look forward to your future videos and I appreciate that you shared your thoughts on leaving TikTok.
Thank you Christina! We are definitely blessed in our society to have a choice of where we want to work etc, thanks for the comment!
@@Jamielimyinyin will add you later! See ya!
I totally agree with you. Thank you for sharing your experience and it’s encouraged me who left bytedance

Great sharing. Culture is the most important aspect as it defines how things are being run.👍
Absolutely agree on this point - Thanks icemanso!
Recently took the leap and quit after 5 months coz I was just… suffering. Thank you for being so candid, I really like your editing too! Subscribed :)
Oh no I’m so sorry to hear that Jewel, but I’m glad you did what’s best for yourself! Happiness is so important in our lives, and life is short so we shouldn’t need to suffer so much 😂 rather, we need to find the things worth suffering for :)
Thank you so much for subscribing and watching, striving to make more helpful videos - comments like yours keep me going so I really appreciate it 💛
Loved the video, Jamie! Leaving so soon is a really brave and mature thing to do - good luck in your next role!

Good luck, Jamie! Thank you for creating the video!
Thank you so much for watching and for commenting! Appreciate it very much!
i went through almost the exact same thing few months back, also with a china startup and those factors that you mentioned, kinda applied to me as well. Yes, i hate Lark/feishu too and is definitely more an email person. The culture is miles different especially for your case being in google for so many years. In the end, I am now happy to be back at a US western culture company
I like Slack, how different is Lark from Slack?
@@jiahongsong458 slack doesnt really feel like a complete solution imo. contrary to jamie and alex, i actually think lark is really amazing. if you love slack, you'll love lark even more because lark is like the best of every world. lark is like slack + teams + telegram bots + workspace packaged in a really nice modern UI, very well integrated and has many features that really just make sense
I think it’s pretty similar - so to what frog guy said below, you may probably like it! It’s just not for me as it doesn’t allow me to focus, so really to each his own! Definitely go check it out!
Same! I’m happy to be back at a US company with amazing culture as well! I’m glad that we know what want and have made that decision :)
It’s inspiring to hear your journey in TT. Thanks for sharing and great insights into the company and sticking to your beliefs.
Thanks so much Emily!
Hope you will talk about different r types of bosses you come across and how to manage toxic colleagues or bosses and company culture in your next video. Thanks
Thank you for sharing! Quite insightful thought from in and out! Hope you get the better job suits your preference ❤️☺️ have a wonderful day

Thank you so much Carolyn! Really appreciate your comment and thanks for taking the time to watch! 💛
Thank you for sharing your experience. What you said and claimed is truly happening around my life, the Chinese working style is not suitable for anyone especially those who are desiring for personal and free time. Although I do not work in Tiktok I understand your feelings
Thanks Yaxin, I hope we both end up at a happier place!
Good to hear from people on why they leave their previous company, it's a learning journey. Thank you for sharing!
Oh I can so relate, having worked in China for a decade. And the pains of using Lark. Such a pain in the ass! All the best to new endeavours!
Thank you Lena! Lark was not for me for sure.. not sure how you’re coping with using it!
Agree that it was a good choice that we 'cut our losses' and start somewhere else. I'm sure we both took something away from the experience though! :D
I've been in TikTok for 5 months, have exactly the same problems! I do love my extremely intelligent and hard-working teammates too :)
I had the best ex-teammates and we are still really good friends till this day!
Love your candor and clarity in expressing feelings ~ Thanks for sharing
Thanks Mister HanWee!
I hope you find something good!
Nice content. And i like the little blooper at the end. I'd like to use this vid as an example for my students. 😊
Thanks very much Harumia! Hope your students find value in this :)
Hey Jamie, great video. You speak so clearly and confidently and it really shows how introspective you are about your career decisions.
Thank you so much Diana! I did put a lot of thought into the decision before making it, but I’m glad I did :)
Awesome takeaways!! I wish I'd heard this perspective when I was in undergrad
Glad this has helped brought some perspective ☺️
Kudos to you for coming out! Thanks for sharing your experience 👌
Thanks so much Superminnu :)
Hi Jamie, I just started a new role last week. Last year, I quit my job in 2-3 months after too much unhappiness. My case was diff from urs - I kind of like the culture but not the bosses way of doing things. Simply put, it was on the edge of being toxic. Took me alot of hesitation as well cos it was my first job and I had a challenging job hunting process in this pandemic
All the best to you!
Thank you and glad that you took the leap of faith to move but YES! We got our new jobs - here’s to new beginnings! All the best to you too!
Omg I’m currently in 1/2monthe into my first job and I really love the job culture and the people around too, but it’s just that my direct boss can be quite draining and haven’t been sure if I should stay to learn or take a leap of faith….
Thanks for sharing this, subscribed!
Thanks Carl!
Thank for sharing! I felt a lot of the same things you mentioned in months 2-3 and am leaving my current job as well.
Glad you found some clarity and made a decision that feels right to you :)

Thanks for the video! Really need this. Your takeaways definitely made me feel better as I was currently struggling in my new job and have intention of leaving. Thanks!! Your advices helped :)
Thank you! Hope you get your fated destiny :p but seriously - all the best!
You worked longer than me. I left after 3.5 months. What I learnt is that “never work in a place where a race’s culture is dominant at the management level”. I am so glad that I didn’t give the chance to my manager to make me fail and I quit by myself.
I’m glad you did what’s best for you! It’s important for us to take care of ourselves, because no one is going to tell us how to do it!
Great sharing Jamie. Takeaways points are a gem

I really love your honest sharing. I am wondering which questions you will ask during interview to really figure out the company culture. Thanks
Love the intro. I felt like I already known you for years. Keep up

I got a phobia from Lark's notification :)
"having to remember who sent me what and when" is my pain point with slack.
Jamie, thanks for this video! That makes me feel that I am not alone.
Big hug to you, we're never alone! We just got to open ip and talk more about it!
Thank you for sharing Jamie! Also I've got same experience working in Malaysia. While I'm working at there at the first I'm happy but later I feel unhappy and lost my creativity. Then I left my job after working one year. No regret and now I can get back to my creativity work. I'm really appreciate u. ❤️

this was really very insightful! thnku so much for sharing your journey here :)
Thank you Bhakti! Happy to have shared, and glad it was insightful!
The major point in here is `Culture`
I would say the `Culture` between Chinese and West still quite different.
