The BD tail code is also from Barksdale AFB , Louisiana. It's an Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) unit. I worked on B-52s in the depot.
Bloody hell Nigel! What ya gonna do, live in it! Ha ha! Cracking model mate, all the best with it!
Oh my goodness that is huge!!!!! Thanks for your unboxing - looking forward to the review!!!
Beautiful kit. Look forward to your future videos on it as you progress.
That's going to be huge! It's another kit I'll probably never buy but I'll be watching everything you do with it. A 1/48 Buff? Ridiculous, but we all want one!
Wow, that's a beautiful looking kit, thanks for sharing it with us. It's the closest I'll ever get to one :)
Excellent video and preview of your HpH 1/48 B-52H!
Big sure is an understatement for this model kit and it will be something when you build it!
Fantastic kit B-52 at 1/48 scale , great details of the model , it's very big and great presentation !
Thanks for the shoutout mate. Planning on doing some more videos ASAP on the B-1b cheers
Amazing B-52 kit Nigel, Can't wait to see it hanging on the wall.
The word that comes to mind is BIG to describe this kit. Gonna need a bigger room to put this one together Nigel, lol. Looking forward to seeing this one come together. Cheers.
Nice review Nigel. Great to see aircraft are back on your channel 😀.
Wowww!!! That's amazing. Looking forward to seeing it's development
Love your videos,please keep'em coming.
Wow Nigel, what a beast. Beautiful B52. Looking forward to the review and build, should be epic. Cheers!
Thanks 👍
Super cool! Thank you for sharing! You going to have to build a hangar to keep that thing in! Cant wait for the build!
That would be cool!
Oh wow!!!!!!! And the PE with it looks great too!!!! Loved modeling when I was a kid, I guess that's why I still do it.............
that looks a great kit nigel
I'll be happy when I finally get my dirty mittens on a 1/200 USS Yorktown CV-5, a 1/48 B-52....I'd have to move into a former RAF hangar, then again....a 1/48 B-36, I might consider it! 😉😆😂
Great video Nige, as always! 🤜🏻🤛🏻🍻
Blimey 😳 That is BIG model. As for where to put it... I reckon a bit of cotton round each wing connected to a drawing pin in the ceiling should do it 😉
That is one awesome kit, that kit should be hung flying. Can't wait to see this one assembled. I'll be watching.
That isn't a big box.. that is ginormous! 👍✈️🇳🇿
Have fun with this beast. P.s. I enjoy you talking 'crap' or more friendly rants
Dear Santa 🙏
As soon as you picked up the 6mm and 10mm metal rods for the wings, i thought to myself i bet Nigel improves them!
Nigel, it is one huge model!
😳I have no words. I have so much envy. And so little space
1/32 B-52 ? It's so biiiig !! Also I'm looking forward to watch building video.
Going to need a bigger bench... impressive!
Sweet-Baby-Jesus!!! That's one BIG mother.............!!!
And I thought the B-1B Bomber in 1/48 scale was an absolute monster!! Two models I would LOVE to build, but don't have the money nor the room to display it in. I really need to get a personal studio with workshop!!
Wow, this is nice!!👌
Lucky you on getting your parcel from fedex so soon! I’ve got a parcel that has been on a truck for final delivery 3 times now and they haven’t delivered it. So tomorrow will be a 4th time!
Fingers crossed!
Everybody sing! Hangin' BOMBERS on the wall Doesn't bother me at all :) Holy Statler brothers, Batman :)
Incredible size
Nigel love to see you review a hph kit would love one of there c47s but there is a hole lot more to do in the fuselage as all internal ribs and stringers are photo etch parts would love to see a 1/32 c47 from hobby boss also would any one the rough size between the b52 and the b36 peacemaker as hph has or did one in 1/48 gotta love those 6 giant radial and four jets thanks nigel
Some people say size matters...
Impressive, but where would I put one? How many walls would I have to remove even to have space to build that? Well I can watch Nige's videos instead whilst I keep hoping for a 1/32 B36 or a 1/24 Lancaster...
That thing is a monster... Put it? Where, maybe in a museum? Perhaps...
Hi Nigel long time no see ,don't know if you remember me I used to serve you at antics in stroud ,hope your well ,looks like a cracking kit.
Yes I do. Hi..
Wow, what a beast of a kit!
BD is for Barksdale AFB, LA but those buzz letters where for the A-10 unit stationed there and LA is for the BUFF's that are also stationed at Barksdale.
Would enjoy watching your build videos of this monster!
Hi Nigel, the stand-alone cockpit set in 1/32 and isn't for this kit!
I was confused by that
That is giant my friend..
Nice. I have a Sanger D winging it's way from Blighty, it is more in my budget for a 1/48 BUFF.
Very nice!
Omg what a beast i built 2 48th B1 bombers for people and i thought they were big
I want to build a nice Bone in 1/48th. i have one which i pick at.. i just ordered the wing flaps for it.
Hph first plastic model kit will be a 32nd Helldiver. WW2 US carrier aircraft. I'm pretty excited for it.
WOW!! I will get one of those for sure!!
775 Euro, was looking for a brother for my B-1B 1/48 but 775 is a bit steep unfortunately
the BD Tail code is for the 917th Wing, for Barksdale, the LA is for the 2nd bomb wing which is also at Barksdale Louisiana. The 917th Wing also operated the A-10 for a while, believe the flying tigers used to be it?
Castle had the code CA for its G model B-52 in 1992, but then it got CAncelled... (Really bad pun there...)
Thanks for putting me right Harald. I got my info from Wikipedia, or maybe read it wromg? LA is the only tail code these days yeah? I have Fairford a few miles from me.. I must go look at some Buffs in action.
I was looking at the skytrain when i saw the B52,i thought 'what maniac would build that?'.I already knew though.Never thought i'd see review of kit.And ive been woosing out on my Hph nato trainer because its resin, better get my 'bit bigger boy' pants on.
darron hedges build it Darron!! Just make sure you wear a mask!!
@@NigelsModellingBench Good thinking,HpH couldve outsourced production to china, ill wear a mask.
Meu amigo, construir uma B 52 na 1/48 é pedir pra ser expulso de casa. 😂😂😂
For sure!!
Hi Nigel - I'm confused - the aircraft itself is 1/48 (as per some box labels) but the cockpit is 1/32 - is this meant to be a separate display item?
Cockpit is an additional item.. there is a 1/48 cockpit in the kit.
Hi Nigel, Christmas came early then! I can remember being at the Mildenhall Airshow (as was) many years ago and they were flying a B 52 along with a Vulcan bomber!
The B 52 did some low level passes down the runway and a couple of circuits of the area. This was closely followed by the Vulcan that completely upstaged the poor lumbering big
B 52 by virtually standing on its tail and going vertical halfway down the runway! British at it's best but the noise!!!! Enjoy your build, the kit looks amazing. ;-)
I saw the same thing at Fairford 2011 or 2012? only the Vulcan was on the Runway and the B-52 flew overhead. The Vulcan may perform better at airshows but the B-52 is by far the superior bomber in my opinion. I said at the time.. B-52 just given an additional 40 yrs service, last Vulcan flying on charity donations!!
Great review Nigel, thanks! I wonder if it would be possible to RC that beast? But the most pressing question is how accurate is the nose?
It would never fly, it's too heavy. The nose looks good to me.....
I WANT ONE !! Oh...the 'Finance Minister' said NO.......................................................................................
Soo off topic - If you want to get that 1/72 space shuttle stack a new home... lol I have been searching high and low for one!
Hi - I was looking forward to you starting the Mustang Build...???
Soon buddy..
*Su HUGE, i can't believe this plastic kit exists! 😲 Thanks for the review, the 1/32 cockpit resin set is for the fun?*
You bet!
Didn’t HPH make the PBY-5 cutaway fuselage? I thought it was 1/32 also!
Yes Joe. Full kit and cutaway versions are available in 1/32.
You may need to put a addition on your house.😂
I have the revell 1/48 B-1B and this B-52 1/48 is way way bigger than the bone....
Hi Nigel!!ok so,what B-52 1/72 kit is good? Or 144,100?just wanting a great Buff kit.HPH is really nice but I can't caugh up that much though! Lol anyway thx..I like your vids...👍
There's a new 144 on the way from Academy which is rumoured to be very good.

@@NigelsModellingBench there Douglas c-47 is stunning well worth the money it's great that they do them in this scale because alot of manufacturers wouldn't even dream of it
Nigel are you building it or just flying in it ,What a monster.
For the model builder with an understanding wife.
Ranger_Chris61 no... for the model builder with no wife!!
Or the builder who wants to get rid of wife!!
@@NigelsModellingBench :-D
My god this is massive. Where will you put such a large model. Also off topic are you able to give me your email address as I need to contact you about Aussie Trekkie
Hhhhhhmmm! How can I get one!
Go to HpH.cz
I bet that was expensive.
Yes and no really.. It is a lot of money for a model kit, but compare it to some of the recent £400 plastic kits from Asia and it's a bargain. I mean.. Titanic kit £400, Pontos £150, PE shell plates £150 and on and on...
U keep saying we'll enjoy it together lol so u sending me 1 to lol
Uhhh... let me think about that... ummm.. NO lol
thats not a kife, this is a knife!!!!!
Ce bien d'apprendre à bien filmer
