  • The best monologue about being a woman, by Kristin Scott Thomas on Fleabag.
This speech is the most wonderful f***ing thing in the world.
Kudos to the show and Phoebe Waller Bridge.

It is horrendous but then it's magnificent.
Love it. As someone who is coming up on menopause in less than 2 months, this resonates.

I think the other facet of this is that most women have the ability to create life, which is inherently the most powerful thing in the world, and men, unable to grapple with this lack of power, create war and destruction and try to control us. Obviously this is very general and binary, but I think this is the root of misogyny. Despite most major gods of creation being referred to as masculine throughout religions, men can't actually grow life inside of themselves, so they just destroy instead.

There are numerous women’s rugby teams, female cage fighters and soldiers. Women are prolific in worldwide affairs and hold positions of esteemed power and influence. This was a drunken, piteous rant tbh. Embarrassing and outdated..

There are numerous women who can barely get out of their bed at times due to certain natural stuff happening throughout their life. As these surely don't affect everyone in the same way not to mention adversities that follow as bonus

but they don’t have those nearly as much as men do. and it isn’t nearly as popular as the men’s division. and the pain-built-in is so spot on. it’s not outdated, it’s just transformed to modern times.

Why do I read the comments? I KNEW someone was going to say that.
Why is every woman punished for one woman's mistake? Better yet, why is all humanity punished for what their ancestors did? Why did God create us to be curious and then forbid us from seeking knowledge, or put a curse fruit that fills us with shame over our weak and finite bodies in the garden? What kind of parent makes something so awful, baits their child into investigating it, and then punishes them permanently on top of it? Were we really created to share in the Trinity's love and joy, or to suffer as an object of wrath?
I'm sorry for unloading my existential dread on you, but these are questions that are worth pondering.

@@sonohito5 i know your feelings. But it is not a bait nor a temptation or a trial. Because they knew Adam and Eve the result of their actions. God instructed Adam carefully about the Tree. Besides, there is so many fruits, i mean hundred of thousands of fruits they can eat. God have the all authority to test us because he is our creator. Yes he test us but not temp or put on trials. Please look carefuly the account of James 1:13. The curse that i said is cause by their disobedience. The fruit is not poisonous. Remember, there is a big difference between allowing something to happen and causing.

@@ZERO-df6tx I grew up studying scripture and went to a Christian university. The moment I began to think that God really doesn't have our best interests at heart was when I did an assignment that involved reading how God commanded the Israelites to kill an entire settlement (including the livestock) in the Old Testament and then reading the New Testament. It was horrifying. How could anyone trust such a two-faced being? As I think about it more, God actually gets worse in the New Testament because it introduced eternal damnation for people who didn't love Him in life, regardless of how young they died or whether they even heard about Jesus due to when and where they lived. My fear is not for lack of knowledge; if anything, it's because I know too much.

It's like, when the universe was doling out the tough stuff, women hit the jackpot, right? 😅 Monthly dues from Mother Nature, complete with cramps that can slay dragons. Then there's the boob situation-sore just because the moon's got a new look. And don’t get me started on the emotional coaster ride, where you feel all the feels, and half the time, you don't even know why. 🎢
But it's not just biology playing pranks on us. Society's got its own twisted sense of humor. Glass ceilings and pay gaps are the punchlines we never asked for. Plus, trying to stride through life in heels that are more torture devices than shoes? That's a twisted level of hardcore. 👠
And kids? Bless 'em, but they turn your body into their personal Airbnb for nine months, then the real fun starts. Meanwhile, men seem to skip through life sans these quirky 'perks.' 🤰👶
Let's talk about that emotional labor, shall we? We're like the world's unofficial therapists, absorbing feels like some emotional sponge, while still expected to smile and look pretty. 💅
Oh, and safety? Walking home isn't just walking home-it's like an impromptu stealth mission, keys between fingers, ready for anything. 🕵‍♀
We tell ourselves stories to hide our inferiority, but this is the unfiltered truth. 💔
