17:40 Something that was supposed to happen and did not happen till then has now happened. Looks like the New BMW 450GS is the future answer that's going to be....
I bought the new RR310 3 weeks ago and I'm very much satisfied by the bike. The Bike's throttle response, suspension and braking is superb. TVS has done a splendid job tuning this machine. Coming to the value proposition of the bike I slightly disagree with Shumi. Yes, it could be best if this was under 2.5 ex showroom. But this how I approached the buying decision on this - I was considering Aprilia RS 457 which including quickshifter was around 5.2 Lac on road, but the issues with the axle and braking in Aprilia was a concern that I was not happy to adjust with. The other option I was considering was Duke 390 costing 3.7 Lac on road, which had awesome performance and braking, but the vibration was too much and when you try to ride it at slow speeds or cruise in the city it is not very friendly and add to that the colour schemes of current Duke's it is not appealing. When I took the test drive of RR310, I found it to be the best balance of power and ease of use and the bike looks definitely more premium. The other part I want to highlight I have had an Apache RTR 200 4V since 2018 and have personally had a very good service experience in Noida. I'm not aware of rest of the parts of the country. But my bike was out of RSA coverage and broke down once and the service guys picked up the bike from home without any additional charge and they always chase for feedback and ratings.
Rs457 has fixed the breaking bro it's really good now. Even rr310 vibrates a lot right? Probably even more than Duke at the top end. I have ridden the Duke but not the rr310 so I'm not aware
Being an ex Apache fanboi (😂) I had purchased every single Apache 160,180,2004v &310, and then deciding to buy RE INT 650 I would say this with absolute confidence that your age plays a role. Earlier I used to not mind the vibrations and I was very happy with the constant maintenance required with RR 310 v1 just for its shear adrenaline rush of revving to motor and now that I am 33 I absolutely appreciate the lazy 6th gear overtaking capabilities of INT 650 and with that lovely creamy butter smooth engine riding 703kms (ujjain-alibaug) in a day without any fatigue to the bike or the rider. WHAT I WANT TO SAY IS AFTER 30s EVALUATE WHAT YOU WANT AND MORE THAN THAT EVALUATE WHAT LIKE AND SET YOUR PRIORITIES BEFORE PUTTING THE MONEY DOWN.
Spot on,. It will be crazy to see TVS, Bajaj all competing against RS457. It will make the Japanese companies rethink before they launch any new sticker jobs for the R3 or Ninja 300( yeah, it has been put to rest., But I don't think Kawasaki will not try to milk us more with that 300cc once more😅), or the never happening CBR250RR.
I saw the r15 v4 video like a year ago and that was the final video i saw that was all i wanted to hear...i loved my bike bought my first r15 v4 last year november 12th a night before diwali...beautiful bike...i never rode a bike since 2011 after an accident in school i hated bikes scared of bikes crazy love on cads for 12 years...but i thought i can't live in fear...bought the r15 it fit me so good i love the concentrating committed position i love it...God changed my life after 10 years of pain...and it started to become nice and bikes ads a part of it...thats why am hard core about yamaha sporty design but i like the apache rr a bit too...thanks for making videos...
I don't have an Apache rr 310, not even planning to buy it. Why am I watching this video. I have my 9 yr old cbr250r which no good channel ever talked about but it's still a great bike and as per shumi it's the best because it's what I got.
Everytime I watch Motoroinc I am amazed at the depth , clarity, knowledge and in general concept that they have about automobiles. It is mind blowing. Never did it ever stuck me that TVS might actually be buying time for something better or much more suited for the current and probabale future market demand and this thought process of Shumi really makes sense because there is literally no reason for TVS to cling on to 310 when market has moved upto 400-450. These sort of updates will not do anything significant for the product and "holding the station for something else to arrive" is a very convincing statement at this point of time. I would love to see an adventure bike from TVS in sub 450-500cc ball park. I feel ADV is a natural fit for almost every kind of daily riding scenario. Getting an ADV right can be a challenge but TVS has off-roading experience. So I hope they have that base ready to build upon it. Lastly everytime I watch a TVS 310 series' video, that one statement by Shumi resonates in my ears " IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN TVS FIRST , BMW LATER". Tvs simply knows India better. Hoping for the best.😊
TVS absolutely *has* to step into the ADV space if you ask me. Give it customisability like the RR310. Bare Bones ADV variant, Off Road variant a la Rally Kit of the XPulse, and a Touring variant.
TVS next product should be either a Retro Roadster, and staying true to the Retro tag and not be confused like the Ronin and a derivative of it to be a Scrambler.
I have to say the idea of not doing first ride/drive impressions with the vehicles and rather have all the experience shared in form of a passionate and super honest discussion is masterstroke, the point that we are not discussing only the vehicle but the product as a whole gives you such a wide perspective and look at the bigger picture where the vehicle although is the main center of attention is the discussion but provides you with enough information for you to comprehend that is it the right fit for you or what exactly does the product hopes to achieve. And hats off to the production team, the entire production is so mature its definitely adds to the discussion.
Shumi and Karthik would have also excelled as actors I guess... The expressions on the thumbnail pics exactly summarily convey what they say in the review 😅
First RR310 quick shifter variant owner in Bangalore, killing machine definitely head turner, so many reactions from public after seeing this bike, so proud, more over i faced quick shifter problem in few days, service center replacement request, hopefully it gets fix within few days
TVS is my favourite Indian brand. They had been ruling a portion of motorsport, they actually engage in engineering, and try to give good products by their own, and now they have norton also. I really hope some good offerings come out in the coming years
2 years, 35000+ kms & lot's of happy moments with my RR310. Sometimes, I do feel a lil lack of performance as I always ride in Sport mode, but then I switch it to Urban for a few kms. & again to Sport, and it works. Happy Diwali, MotorInc Family!
25 minutes in and a quick summary already? EDIT: Thanks for the discussion after the quick summary. TVS clearly need to rethink. They have the engineering in the bag. They should be able to figure this out, shouldn't they?
Being the owner of Apache RTR 310 since last 8 months! The service centre and service has improved greatly And the bike is very good you’ll be never bored of it. The only thing I agree w these guys is the pricing, yes TVS should make the prices reasonable and let more of us get the opportunity to own one.
Tvs deserves a better bike, that can see better. In isolation this is a good bike.but we spoilt for choice. Tvs needs to get into 600cc+ multiple cylinder segment, either with Norton or bmw. They have the racing pedigree and heritage. India is missing a 60-70 bhp bikes. What do we upgrade to?(locally made)
@@motorinc I understand, it must be a diff job to be tight lipped. The reason for this wishful thinking is coz Iv read some articles last year that tvs is working on a bigger multi cylinder bike. Not sure if it's performance oriented or if theyd take the RE route. I only wish it's a mordern sports bike. I trust tvs engineering, just price is well.
I bought a used dominar 400 a few months back and decided to add winglets to it. After designing multiple versions of winglets and doing flow simulation, I was getting 3.5kg of downforce at 120kmph. I wasn't satisfied by this figure but I can't increase the downforce without increasing the drag or making it ridiculously big. So I finalized this design with 3.5kg downforce, printed them and fitted it on the dominar. Now the dominar looks big and these winglets attract more eyes then before. And then I heard about the downforce that this new RR310 is able to get. Now I don't have any doubt on my engineering 😂. That's the max amount of downforce with this size of winglets at these 120-150kmph speed. Downforce increases squarely with the speed. So these winglets have more functionality in the high-speed bikes, but they definitely improve the looks of smaller bikes as well.
@icecoldviv I'm an automobile engineer, and I used Solidworks to design this winglet. Then, I used Solidworks Flow Simulation to measure the amount of downforce and drag that it will create.
I think what TVS needs right now is 3 things. First upgrade the 310 CC motor and get in a new 400 or 450 cc engine. Then Design 3 bikes. One Classic retro with a modern touch (Replacing the Ronin ofcourse) and One proper ADV and one Scrambler. So they would complete their stable. One Sports Naked (RTR 310), one sports (RR310), one classic retro, one ADV and one Scrambler. All in the price bracket of 2 Lac - 3 Lac INR. Thus giving the customers a wide range of Choices to pick from their stable.
All in the price bracket of 2 - 3 L is not possible, unless they have an engine in the 400 - 450cc engine they can re-purpose, creating a new engine involves, R&D and that invovles cost, to recover that they need to price it accordingly and they are answerable to their shareholders.
The Sherco 450 if they can bring that engine to develop an ADV. It would be a really good platform as TVS has been working on it for quite some time to race at Dakar.
Interesting, but we do not believe that Sherco and TVS have a working relationship right now apart from support for Harith Noah's rally outings as a TVS-supported rider on Sherco motorcycles.
Schumi clearly knows the details but just isn't allowed to divulge! So the RS457 still stays the best A2 available in India? Would love to see something compete with the Himalayan coming from TVS. The issue is that the service experience is so bad, I would never recommend a TVS to anyone. Its basically saying the customer is always wrong and how can we make the customer feel bad about buying our product from the first day after they bought it. And to top it they have very short service intervals as well. I owned a RTR 200 for less than 6 months and ended up going to the service center atleast 6 times in that period. Replaced it with a Duke 250 and everytime i am on it, i have a smile on my face.
Same with my Ntorq Race XP man, thing has been a lemon since day one. I have had more SC visits on this bike alone than all my other vehicles combined.
33:40 totally agree with shumi... Most probably a tvs adventure (400 cc fingers crossed) after benching marking the new adventure 390 and h450 would be something to look out for ,maybe same time next year 🥲.
I'd just love a 400cc RR 310.. the baby panigale styling just appeals to me.. if they can do this they'd eliminate their only con and bring them closer to the competition... Of course at the same price or lower
Agreed that it's a tough ask considering the beemer tax and "tech" but if they don't atleast match the new gen RC in terms of performance when it comes out, with the adjustable suspension and stuff.. I feel it'll end a sad story of a nice bike.. I think in my mind, I'm considering the RR as an underdog and routing for it to climb up 😂
@@motorinc there's only one particular 400cc bike that comes to mind for me when thinking about the racing bikes Zx4rr, that thing is 9.1L completely nuts pricing, but the engine and the performance is worth it imo, how many 400cc bikes out there that can output almost 80 horses. I'm a bit of a bike enthusiast, if I were to build one, I'd definitely build a 400cc (maybe throw a turbo in the bike with anti lag) to take down the zx4rr, id buy that kinda bike at 6L reasonably if it exists. Will have to see how the bike performance improves with e20 petrol in tank 😝
Also suggestions asked for next bikes of TVS. 1) Make a great scrambler out of Ronin or launch some other series all together. 2) Leave 313cc engines behind, make a bigger engine maybe 400cc or even a 450cc like sherpa 3) I really really wish TVS becomes the next manufacturer to move to twins. RE has done it well but RE being RE does RE things. Aprillia has done it and they have done it BRILLIANT. What a bike RS457 is. If TVS can replicate a bit of RS457 at a fraction of cost then we all will be in for a treat. Its a very difficult task to do it because RS457 is well priced and TVSs' existing offering RR310 is not a value for money, I don't know how they can pull off a twin while being value for money simultaneously. BUT I WISH THEY DO!.
I bought the rtr 180 in 2010 i guess, what a bike that was at that price. And I was very happy to hear TVS BMW partnership, but nothing good came out of that.
I,ve bought this bike with the quickshifter and it has been a phenomenal experience as my first sportsbike. I've done 600 kms till now can't wait for the sport and track mode to unlock
@@ayushluther yes after a 1000 kms, after the first service, the sport and track modes are unlocked, before that you can only use the urban and the rain mode, which are restricted to ig 30 bhp
@@anonymousvulture wow. I did not know that. I understand run-in period and its precautions but this is the first time I'm hearing about unlocking ride modes. Crazy!
I think TVS should bring in the Twin Cylinder Tech if they have it and price it in a manner that should hit other 400cc players below the belt. शुभ दीपावली 🎉
Absolutely right about a product to compete with 250 Duke. I'm currently looking to upgrade from my 100cc HF Delux to a 250cc bike which will help me get accustomed to the speed and handling so that I can confidently graduate to bikes with a higher displacement. Currently the only options I have are a 250 Duke and Gixxer 250.
We'd suggest the 250 Duke if you're looking for performance that also feels under your control @pratik12804. Take a test ride of both before deciding but the Gixxer 250's essentially a commuter with a higher cc engine.
Completely agree with Shumi sir on that point in the end about not pushing this bike enough.I am about to get my license and have finally started seriously looking for my first bike (dont worry i have had a lot of experience with bikes been riding from a young age). I have considered the Dukes, triumph speed 400 , yamaha R15 etc. but never the apache rr 310. Almost as if it doesn't exist. I have seen zero promotionnal videos, no reviews almost as if this bike doesn't exist. I remember seeing an apache rr 310 few years ago in a good wrap and i was absolutely bewildered and amazed as to what this bike could be, it looked absolutely massive like a full on superbike, but i just couldn't think of anything like this in the indian market. When i asked the guy which company he imported this from i was absolutely shocked to learn it was a TVS. It is almost as if this bike doesn't exist
I think they should make a scrambler derivative from ronin which they showcased a few years back and bump up the displacement class from 310 to 400s with different state of tunes to have a Norton style cafe racer (man make some use of their designs, they look so good) and a cruiser and let their engineering talk for them with vehicles representing truest form of that specific format with no overlapping of formats and tell their marketing team to chill and not feel FOMO
32:18 "The better 310" maybe make it a parallel twin or a triple. Yeah it would be expensive and will sell less but hey, we would have an Indian "superbike killer, and UA-cam's favourite public road drag race master"!
I have an apache RTR 2004v 2021 model and i love this bike soooo much, amazing engine, amazing brake, amazing milage, amazing reliability and decent comfort. The only problem i have is obviously tvs service center and second the company doesn't offer any oem accessories, like damn i want to give you my money just let me
Great summary! "TVS is the King of Benchmarking"- Such a polite way of saying they copy!! The original Pulsar came out in 2001, and TVS launched their Apache in 2006. The NS200 was launched in 2011, and the Apache 200 4v came out in 2016. So there seems to be a pattern of 5 years behind Bajaj's successful products. I wish the N250 were more successful, so that we can see a TVS 250cc rival that can slot between Apache 200 and 310. Maybe in 2026 perhaps? However, if the N250 was successful, then there might not have been a need for a TVS rival.
I agree. N/F250 unfortunately really looked a lot like my Ex- Discover 150 S/F; which Shumi had mentioned somewhere in other channel And bought Dominar UG instead after riding RTR, RR, Highness, RE garbage. Again unfortunately the recent Bajaj bikes are beginning to looks similar to each other Dom400 = NS400 ~~ NS250
@@cr8xtremeCaRnAgE Bajaj: I made Pulsar 150, so TVS made Apache 150; I made NS200, so TVS made Apache 200; I made N250, it didn't succeed and so TVS didn't copy...Great Success!
Hey there fam! I'm back! As a sucker for the TVS Apache RR310 for being what it is, I fall in love with it everytime I look at it and I get my heart broken everytime my rational mind listens to (and agrees with) Shumi's opinion about this bike. I believe this bike is a great machine now, only being hampered by its price. The best thing for this would be to bring it next to the speed 400 in terms of price, so people at least take it into consideration before jumping straight to the duke 250 or the speed. Oh and please let's just forget that the BMW exists for this because well, it feels more like extortion than a purchase paying what they ask for this machine. Kartikeya, 10/10 bang on summary! Well done! Coming to what TVS would be buying time for (if they are) with this bike, I believe it would be a Ronin successor, with a bigger ~400cc engine to compete with Scrambler 400x (and maybe the himalayan). Pricing it around 2.6-2.8 lakhs would make the most sense and taking ronin as the predecessor would make sense due to its comfort quotient. I hope they don't do the thing they did with the Ronin's suspension was so soft that highways would become a difficult thing. A bigger sportsbike or a naked sports right now wouldn't make much sense considering the failure with both the RR and the RTR projects. I'd love to know your thoughts on my thoughts 😛 Looking forward to hearing back from you and listening to other people's opinions here! Love, CB.
Hi @chaitanyabathia8155! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. We get the love for the RR 310, it's certainly a capable machine and you're right, it would be doing a lot better if it were priced better. And if TVS is indeed buying time for the Ronin successor, we hope that they take all of your concerns into consideration, but we'll just have to wait and watch. Oh, and thanks for the rating. Much appreciated! 😁
You guys serve some really serious content but with amazing ease. I can now recollect the articles I have gone through in early 2000 and the Czars you guys are now (in terms of the thing you do and you do best). Hats off. You guys got me back into reading, listening about automobiles. Now, actually willing to get hold of Himalayan. @Karthik and @Shumi your goosebumps triggered one in me while watching the content. Lots of success to you guys. Love you both. Keeps rocking.
i think indian manufacturers should start with twin cylinders, why only RE is the only one to do this. A twin from TVS may even rival the r3. Then yamaha would think of decreasing it's prices Edit:- Definitely a sports bike or bikes that have more zest, and if they manage to pull the twin thing, and at a price point of 3L, that would be the next best thing after triumph did the 400. Twin at this price, although it seems like a pipe dream though.
1.1 - 2.5 is the sweet spot for many aspirational buyers, In that my favorite picks would be : 1) Ronin 310 (not against RE, just a smooth cruiser) 2) Adv 310 (Adventure) 3) Raider Petrol + CNG 4) Activa Electric 5) Norton 650 6) Excel electric 7) iQube facelift with Long Range 8) Apache RTR 125 may be?
I think Ronin kind of retro thing is good, but they need to fix some things first - that 225cc needs to go up, something like 250-300, that will help a lot for future improvements and all. Second they really need to fix colors and designing, subtle colors are more fun than funky one, coz that's a retro kind of machine and mostly that will be ridden by mature, calm people, and funky colors for them isn't a good idea, also bringing out good 1st party accessories will be great but that's for future not immediate. And if there is a performance oriented platform is going to be I think it needs to be a 500cc. 400 is ongoing, and you can't do that thing right now, if you then after 3-4 years later when all others releasing a 500 you'll be a 399.5 that's will be the same story just like rr310s. So 500 will be a good start, again lots of room for improvement, if there's a parallel twin thing happening that will be awesome. Rest tvs engineers are far more intelligent than me they will handle it.
Maybe with what I've understood from TVS discussions on motorinc and the dakar strides from them a 400cc ish adv makes the most sense where they could directly hit it out of the park. Also suprised shumi didnt take a dig on the clear clutch cover thought he would definitely cover it🤣🤣.
I think the next TVS product must be a Ronin SCR. I’m an ex RTR200 owner here and having clocked 55000kms on the bike, I can definitely say the engine is torquey enough to do scrambling duties. Bring the TVS Ronin SCR with 225 cc engine, 20bhp, 20nm of torque at a kerb weight of 140kgs, with a fuel tank capacity of 11 to 12L, then this bike would immediately take on the Xpulse and the upcoming Kawasaki KLX 230. Launching two models, one for scrambler and one as a dual sport would be perfect. The torquey engine with that fruity exhaust note would be a hoot to ride. TVS has good experience in rally racing in India (I’m not talking about Sherco, mind you) and I think the market is ripe. TVS has the engine, expertise. Just give us that bike already 😍
I think a 400cc, 40hp, ADV motorcycle, with sensible riding modes (not a bunch of combinations of engine maps, traction control, abs), priced at 2.75L (top spec) is what I want to see from TVS in the coming 2 years, and I would honestly consider and get a test ride and if the chassis works with that engine that they come up with, it will be an absolute no brainer for me to get it! I have been looking in the market and I eliminated the RE Himalayan 450 and the Triumph Scrambler 400X and kept the KTM 390 ADV X as my option but I am waiting for the new one coming out so I can test ride and decide. I wouldn't at all mind waiting for TVS if they announce that they are developing an ADV in the same class, priced similarly!
@@shrabanKC I have discarded the Himalayan 450 because I already own two Royal Enfields, and I truly want to get out of their brand and even though, they have taken a step forward with the Himalayan 450, it felt off to me, I have taken multiple test rides and I just could not get comfortable with the bike. As for the 400X, compared to the 390 ADV, I didn't find the seating position as comfortable as the 390 ADV. I like the tall screen, relaxed upper body position from the 390 ADV.
It's always a joy to go through Comments! 😁 My pick for next TVS lineup would be - RS 457 competitor parallel twin (2.8ish Lac)! Ground up developed 400-450cc ADV to compete with Himalayan 450 (3.6ish Lac Ex showroom) Naked based on the parallel twin RS 457 competitor to take on dukes headon All throughly modern takes!
I own a rr310 bs6 and I totally agree with what the host is trying to convey. Beautiful chassis with a mediokar engine. Few points that i would like to add Tvs now provides AMC which covers all the electronics under warranty and gives 15% of on all the body parts and maintenance items(engine oil, brake pads etc etc) With amc the general service labour is free of cost. Majority of service centers are don't even know how to service this bike except for 3 service centers in Bangalore which is hand picked by tvs and suggested to the customers. Parts availability is still a night mare if something goes wrong internally or you have an external damage forget your bike for atleast 3 weeks Shim noice is still audible in this engine even after these many years of R&D. CONCLUSION: A really good bike of you know the in and out of the bike and how to get things done. I have never spent about 2K in the last 4 services that i have done.
Very enriching conversation as always. ❤ I'm a happy owner of Honda Unicorn Dazzler 150. Bought it in 2010 when it was launched as an youthful looking alternative to the regular Unicorn and done about 1.47 lakh kms now. It does 70-80kmph average without breaking a sweat all day long returning 50kmpl. Have done long rides of 700+ kms on a single day. Now that it turns 15 next year I'm looking to replace it with a good comfortable commuter and I find the only option is to go with the Unicorn160. Even with so many brands around someone with my kind of requirement left with only one option. The total number of Unicorns sold till date speaks for it as it sits at the top in 150-160cc category with none of the modern day features, followed by TVS Apache 160 which is more modern but uncomfortable for long journeys. There was a complete vacuum created when the Unicorn wasn't available in the market for a while and later brought back because of the demand it had. I wish the other brands also brought one bike in their portfolio in the 150-160cc displacement that becomes the practical, no nonsense family man bike with a non- committed relaxed seating.
It's an absolute treat to watch Shumi & Kartikeya talk, its 2 enthusiasts talking about what they are passionate about. Yes its sad to see TVS with such models which are good but nobody is buying. Me being a TVS customer from a long time is hard to see they not having great bikes in the market which is flooded with 400cc 40BHP bikes. I had a 2002 Fiero and now have a 2010 RTR180 and I have nothing else to upgrade in the TVS stable which is interesting. I feel like downgrading and getting the 160 4V which is a massive VFM with almost same power figures as my RTR180. TVS needs a wake up call and get a 250, 400 with both street and off -road category in a big way. Maybe sneak in a 650 parallel twin 😁
I happen to be near the coastt, general public are only allowed to race at the go cart track using different go cart machines they have. I hope professional races happen there soon. As of now only media people, some close automobile enthusiasts are allowed to experience the main track
Dudes, I hope these videos stay forever. I want my kids also to watch these. Because, instead of just going by the spec numbers, you guys make us FEEL the vehicle from all 720 degrees. Pretty much every video is like a new chapter that lights up a light bulb in our heads. Happy to say that I now have a serial light set in my head 😜. In short, please don't ever stop reviewing the vehicles (both cars and bikes).
I don't want to see any ronin thing again tvs shouldn't forget its own history. Tvs was probably first indian brand to associate with ,racing tracks and DAKAR rally. Reputation of this brands comes from apache 160 to 200, it should be stick to it . And if they really want to benchmark anyone It should be KTM not royal enfield. Tvs can earn people's hearts by making good looking KTM alternatives with great pricing. What they did with pulsar. Tvs should focus on only one thing ,make racing machines and streat naked from 200cc range to 600cc; If they really want to succeed as an Indian racing brand Yes bulding a adv lineup alongside is a good idea there shold be 2 advs one wth 200 or 250 cc and another with 400cc later they'll come with 500 or 600cc adv. Good luck🎉 !hope they'll do something better. And tvs service.............. I'm tvs owner by the way.
great video! I always felt what Shumi said the RR 310 was always a bit neglected, that's why I am excited when I see one on the road even though it's far from being my favorite bike because that will always be the Scrambler 400x
What alloy did they use for the piston? Can’t be 2618. They most probably used 4032, which is why they were not able to shave more than 10-12% weight off the piston. Makes sense though, 2618’s thermal expansion is far too high to be feasible for street use Also, the top end of the steel conrods also reciprocate with the pistons and does weigh a substantial about… and so does the piston pin Therefore, 10-12% weight removed from piston alone means merely 5-6% weight removed from the prime reciprocating assembly
Apart from Royal Enfields, we don't have any twin cylinders in the street naked segment. The problem with the RE is they never want to make an outright moden bike in every sense. The other manufacturers with twins in their catalogue are not having street nakeds. So I would love if TVS could make one twin engine that they can use in three different categories of bike namely street naked, sports and an adventure. They can also have a cruiser with it but Indian market is not lucrative for cruiser category. Also we don't have any A2 kind of restrictions in India, so they can make it as powerful as they could. It may take 2 to 3 years to make it but it would still worth it given that all of their premium products have failed to make their mark in their categories. Another thing is there will be less competition to the TVS if they could bring these products in the near future. That can help them to establish their products before competition catches with them.
Certainly a pathbreaking idea @shrirangpatil007 but twin cylinders require more work and as such, if at all they make one, it cannot cost less than ~₹4 lakh without TVS taking serious financial hit. So, we aren't sure how likely this is to happen. Would be cool though!
My list - A revised Ronin that actually looks propotional and has a bored up 250-275 cc longer stroke that makes around 22-23 hp. - A small adv on the same engine with Good soft supension. - a bored up rr with more than 42-43 hp. - a bigger adv with the rr engine. - and finally, an untapped market, a 160cc adv with their 160 4v engine.
Once again, another great view on the bike. Nobody had been talking about the forged pistons on the social media. Probably TVS can update the Apache line-up now. Adding a 250cc rtr can fill the gap between 200 4v and rtr 310s. A RR400 or may be twin cylinder tech would be a really awesome thing to see from TVS. That at least will make the japanese turn heads. If I look at the Ronin family, I believe they can use it to go against xpulse 200 with a proper adv setup. If not the 400, at least they can use the 310 with a different tuning to create a ronin scrambler or cafe racer which can give the triumphs some competition. At least that will create a new image and platform for them. I still like their choice of mature colour schemes, nothing crazy on the bike is something we don't see much on Indian roads. If they really are eyeing for premium segment, shumi said rightly, they need to leave this 310 as is, and focus on bigger things, a 400rr with twin cylinder tech would be really nice to see. Make an RR and a RTR, create a limited edition (upto 500 units) of 600cc café/sports/naked with a fully new design and engine to fathom the market, people will look at TVS and see a complete different brand then. If they succeed, they can look into the 600cc segment. The cost and the service part needs to be worked on definitely. Indian consumers only take value for money products. P.s. waiting for your views on the pulsar n125 (yet another pulsar) 😅
Thanks for sharing your thoughts @deepmoychatterjee3885! A twin-cylinder engine seems to be one of the most requested things from TVS, it'll be interesting to see if they actually do it! As for the N125, please stay tuned!😊
things i want from tvs on top of good service 1. a simple adv bike like xpulse but that has power around 25-30bhp 2. a sport bike and naked that can rival duke390 and rc390. naturally it needs to have around 400cc displacement. now aprilia is in town too... 3. a ronin bike more close to the zepplin concept. and with a thumping engine atleast 350cc. this bike has to feel royal.
TVS should give a modern bike for 25y-40y demographic segment who may be single married or having kids. A modern product with the versatility of a pulsar 220, chassis of Apache and finesse of a duke or triumph! For obvious reasons it shud be an all rounder and definitely not have a retro outlook (we have enough of it now last 3y and it’s tiring, started with Honda cb350, Bajaj triumph, Hunters etc). We need a modern and futuristic styled bike, putting out a 35bhp and 40nmTorque. Tall initial gearing for city friendliness and 5th and 6th gears for a proper highway cruise at 110-120kmph. Need slipper clutch and adjustable break levers, a proper earth’s ground and road focused LED (right outta the rtr310) , longer subframe and wheel base to comfortably accommodate 2people without getting humped on d riders back and a 15L fuel tank. Rest of d features can be as per market demands. Can be as stingy as a hunter 350 or can go as far as Pulsar z400N.
Nice review MotorInc. Glad that you have travelled 1500 kms to Coimbatore to experience riding the new RR310 in CoasTT race track. In my view , TVS should come up with a less RR version like 250 segment similar to KTM with competitive pricing will be a good idea. They can also try introducing Retro like Royal Enfield or Honda Hness , may be a new avatar of Ronin in its existing chasis but a 350 or 400 cc will do magic. Thanks Shumi and Karthik for the detailed unique review. Greetings from Coimbatore !!!!
Excellent summary! 10/10 I suppose from TVS, there are about 3 bikes I would love to see with a all new sub 500 cc engine which could be balanced like the sherpa. 1. A thoroughly engineered and finished street naked. With a light chassis and great suspension like they usually do and with the engine tuned to the power side. 2. A adventure tourer with that same engine but with hefty engine characteristics. A suspension setup close to or beating the latest and greatest ktm's. With engine tuned to torque side of things. 3. A rework on the said engine but in maxi-scooter segment. CVT. Handling city commutes and highways. A substantial torque machine. 😌 Priced in the 3-3.5 lakhs ex-showroom. All would matter only if the service experience is better.
Hey! I am thinking of buying a sports naked bike under 3 lakh. Should I buy rtr310 or wait for the next generation (due to vibration) And how the vibrations are as compared to speed400. Kindly reply 🙏🙏 Thinking about this for over a month now. Even watched your video about on How to decide your first bike but still not sure.
Which one to pick between Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 vs TVS Apache RR 310? My primary needs : 1. Comfortable for long rides 2. Lower or moderate maintenance 3. Reliability of engine 4. Useful features - not want any fancy stuff which was added to provide a gimmick show that this bike has but in practical scenarios it was not that useful. Also, Any possibilities does we will see updated Suzuki SF 250 with features like quickshifter, USD forks,...etc in the next months ?
Need suggestions. Preowned Ford freestyle flair edition registered in 2021 and driven for about 48000km with single owner is availlable. Considering Ford's departure from Indian market, will it be a good purchase at Rs. 7,50,000 ?
This bike is already very fast and agile for Indian road standards and we really don't need anything more. Almost any major previous bug seems to be fixed after so many iterations. Not everyone is competing or racing on road or comparing 0-100km/h acceleration in day-to-day life, it's just yourself who needs to be satisfied yet safe when handling this much power. Most of the people comparing this to RC390 or Aprilia RS 457 are the one's who are influenced by the illegal and totally unsafe drag/top-speed races they watch on UA-cam from some shady channels who do that stuff by risking their and others life on road just for some views or fame. Additional safety tech like cornering traction control and ABS via IMU should be opted by most as it will worth much more if you care about your safety, costs will go down eventually if more and more people start opting that. It is still more useful than riding boots, pants or jackets as most people only wear helmet and gloves for day-to-day small commutes where the chances of small city accident are most.
Karthikeyan the wise wisdom words for For Figo diesel TDCi,Maruti Suzuki Swift VDI and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios “ Review Ashis’e karo” ohh man it’s a goosebumps for me what a heart wrenching words from Karthikeyan awesome bro awesome what a vice modulation very happy brother very happy ❤️🙏
mann!! you guys are awesome. when i saw the new 450 twin by bmw (co developed by tvs), i remembered you saying that the new RR310 is holding space for something bigger!! :D
It would be nice to see 2 products from TVS: 1. A ramped up Ronin in terms of power. Its been a good bike for low speed riding. A higher displacement engine giving it a solid torque like a T4 can give it the spark it’s missing. 2. An Adv style 310 cc or more. Might end up being a great product. Something structured like a 200 4V but taller, but it looks unlikely to happen anytime soon. Price points would be lovely to see around the 2.0 to 2.4 mark
Idk why TVS took all that time and effort to make those internal changes but invested zero of that time and effort into changing that exhaust pipe design while they were at it. I know it sounds really shallow because the bike is fantastic and at the end of the day the dynamics and the performance is what really matters but sometimes consumers really are that shallow, there are a lot of people that will get a bike simply because they like how it looks. The bike looks so nice, I seriously dont think anyone is going to object to that but that exhaust design is holding it back so much its crazy. I honestly believe that if they changed just that alone to something more sleeker and pleasing to the eyes, the sales would have gone up by 10-15% lol. Lets be serious here nobody is getting the rr/rtr310 for its performance or the package or whatever, Im sure that for 70-80% of the people who got these bikes they did so just because of they liked how these bikes look (truer for the rtr). If design is whats really selling these bikes then why not refine that one element thats really holding it back.
I was initially considering the RR 310, but with the launch of the new Duke 250 in Ebony Black, I started leaning toward that. After watching your video, my decision feels much clearer. For me, the only big pull for the RR 310 is the looks, but at 3.51L on-road in Hyderabad for the Bomber Grey, it's pretty steep. At that price, I could even consider a Triumph. The Duke 250, on the other hand, is 2.85L on-road, which feels more reasonable. Most of the RR 310's features, like cruise control, are nice to have but not essential for me. Thanks for helping me weigh my options!
TVS Scrambler 350 to undercut some major bikes from Triumph and RE could be the way to go, since they can benchmark and maybe outperform the Triumph counterpart.
I bought a previous version rr310 and sold it an year later. The engine was definitely a deal-breaker; despite the rr310 being a good vehicle with excellent handling, the vibrations made it hard to enjoy fully, so i had to sell it. Now, brand perception is key, and many would rather invest in options like triumph 400 or ktm. let's be honest-tvs is still associated more with practical models like mopeds and the jupyter. this image doesn’t resonate with a racing or youthful brand identity, which holds them back in the premium segment is what i feel. But i completely like what tvs is doing now and the direction they're trying to take. they just need to add more value for money, as shumi mentioned. being from Hosur, which is home to the tvs manufacturing hub, i really hope to see even better products from them-ones that could truly disrupt the market.
You were also invigilating and triggering and jodding down all the required possible checklist that what needs to be for applying a smooth transistion interms of achieving higher speeds with ducking and slouching and leaning to achieve the laps ❤️🙏
My thoughts on this: 1. The RR310 is an excellent bike as far as I am concerned. It has the right amount of power and torque for an average rider to handle highway and city duties. However, owing to TVS's reputation of worse service and even hospitality at the Service centres, many would shy away from getting any of their vehicles. Once that issue is fixed, they will rule. 2. Availability of spare parts is an issue and there seems to be no information at the service centre or from the customer service about the availability and the backwards compatibility of their latest features. Who doesnt want to keep their bike fresh and trendy? 3. Now on to the topic of the expansion of the 310 platform. We have only got 2 models out of it from TVS. If they are still willing to use the 310, they can bring out a sporty scooter like the NTorq 310 as well. Maybe a Maxi-style would work too. And to fulfill the holes in the motorcycle line up, ADV, Scrambler and a Cruiser. If they are holding for something better, it might be a reversed inclined 720° parallel twin with a displacement between 400-650. A parallel twin TVS ADV and Sportbike around 3-4 L price bracket would eat up the sales from their competitors.
Hello, i own an 2020 RR310. I wanted to ask if i can fit the quickshifter onto my bike. That would significantly improve the riding experience without actually upgrading as said by Shumi sir. Also TVS really needs a twin now. As of now the only true upgrade i can think of is going with the RS457.
Can I install rr 310 adjustable suspension on rs 457 so that I can get more damping on the bike because I live in some parts of Hyderabad where I feel all the bump on the road all the small potholes and little bumps I feel on my daily commute. can I install on the bike or else it will create more problems than solving it
I'm a Xpulse 200 owner and I'm very well satisfied with the machine. I am happy for all the ADVs that have started to sell in this country. Fav ADV: Himalayan 450. But I'm a person who likes to have a Dual Sport in my garage as the daily machine. Kawasaki 230 looks promising but guessing that the price will be too high. Have been seeing TVS race in MX events with their track bike. Would love to see a Dual Sport from TVS or any other manufacturer.

The action camera footage isn't great - Shumi didn't set it up correctly.
Shumi’s explanation is enough❤
you skipped the see through clutch... is it because that its that not worth mentioing or you just didnt like it

Something that was supposed to happen and did not happen till then has now happened.
Looks like the New BMW 450GS is the future answer that's going to be....
Feels so happy that Indian consumers are now blessed with so many good bikes to choose from. Finally we have passes the 100cc commuter era.
Taking in general, not specifically for rr310. 😅
Yes! Spot on!
Next year will be even better!
But in terms of Roads, we are not there yet

MotorInc First has always been my go to videos if I am travelling long distances. I am literally addicted to these videos. Thanks Shumi and Karthik!
Glad you enjoy it!
Could you name the dealership as well as I live near Noida?
Aditi TVS
Thanks for sharing @asadperwaiz1759! Glad you're having a great time
Rs457 has fixed the breaking bro it's really good now. Even rr310 vibrates a lot right? Probably even more than Duke at the top end. I have ridden the Duke but not the rr310 so I'm not aware
RR 310 has lesser vibration than duke or Guerrilla??
With that suspension and that seating ergonomic along with the bench seat, you didn't felt any fatigue. Kudos to your fitness!
32:28 parallel twin RR competition to aprilia
🤜🏽🤛🏽
With TVS' maturity in coming up with great products (up to RTR 200), it would be crazy if they pulled this off.
I have RTR 200 4v from last year, I have tried 2 service centers from TVS PRN Motors in Bangalore and I am pleased with the service.
Is service good?
Try NEO service center Bilekahalli and Synergy TVS
I don't have an Apache rr 310, not even planning to buy it. Why am I watching this video. I have my 9 yr old cbr250r which no good channel ever talked about but it's still a great bike and as per shumi it's the best because it's what I got.
Cbr 250 ❤ i Miss my bike
Thanks for your perspective, Avik!
This is the most important thing i got from this video.
🤜🏽🤛🏽
I have to say the idea of not doing first ride/drive impressions with the vehicles and rather have all the experience shared in form of a passionate and super honest discussion is masterstroke, the point that we are not discussing only the vehicle but the product as a whole gives you such a wide perspective and look at the bigger picture where the vehicle although is the main center of attention is the discussion but provides you with enough information for you to comprehend that is it the right fit for you or what exactly does the product hopes to achieve. And hats off to the production team, the entire production is so mature its definitely adds to the discussion.
Thank you so much for joining us @PrashantBhadouria-k3d!
Shumi and Karthik would have also excelled as actors I guess... The expressions on the thumbnail pics exactly summarily convey what they say in the review 😅
Haha!
I really hope some good offerings come out in the coming years
🤜🏽🤛🏽
2 years, 35000+ kms & lot's of happy moments with my RR310.
Sometimes, I do feel a lil lack of performance as I always ride in Sport mode, but then I switch it to Urban for a few kms. & again to Sport, and it works.
Happy Diwali, MotorInc Family!
Awesome! Glad you're enjoying your riding, Mukesh! Thank you, and to you and yours too!
@motorinc Need 1 suggestion. Should I again get Michelin Road 5, or is there a better cheaper option?
You can try TVS pro torque extreme tyres
25 minutes in and a quick summary already?
EDIT: Thanks for the discussion after the quick summary. TVS clearly need to rethink. They have the engineering in the bag. They should be able to figure this out, shouldn't they?
🤷♂️🙃
Being the owner of Apache RTR 310 since last 8 months!
The service centre and service has improved greatly
And the bike is very good you’ll be never bored of it.
The only thing I agree w these guys is the pricing, yes TVS should make the prices reasonable and let more of us get the opportunity to own one.
Thanks for sharing @AsheerZehen! Glad to hear from an owner.
What do we upgrade to?(locally made)
Thanks for letting us know UN!
So these winglets have more functionality in the high-speed bikes, but they definitely improve the looks of smaller bikes as well.
how did you measure your downforce?
That sounds like the roadmap for the next ten years @abhijitbhave4439 🫡
@motorinc That's a new learning for me, I didn't know that 😅✌🏻
Schumi clearly knows the details but just isn't allowed to divulge!
Hey Suraj, wow, sorry to hear about the TVS experience. RS feels very serious for sure.
Same with my Ntorq Race XP man, thing has been a lemon since day one. I have had more SC visits on this bike alone than all my other vehicles combined.
Can we get rid of winglets without cracking the panel?
Tvs worst quality
33:40 totally agree with shumi... Most probably a tvs adventure (400 cc fingers crossed) after benching marking the new adventure 390 and h450 would be something to look out for ,maybe same time next year 🥲.
🤞
I'd just love a 400cc RR 310.. the baby panigale styling just appeals to me.. if they can do this they'd eliminate their only con and bring them closer to the competition...
Of course at the same price or lower
We're just imagining what would BMW price their version at! BMW G 400 RR has a nice ring to it
can't happen at the same price because it just has more (tech) than it's upper competition.
Agreed that it's a tough ask considering the beemer tax and "tech" but if they don't atleast match the new gen RC in terms of performance when it comes out, with the adjustable suspension and stuff.. I feel it'll end a sad story of a nice bike..
I think in my mind, I'm considering the RR as an underdog and routing for it to climb up 😂
@@motorinc there's only one particular 400cc bike that comes to mind for me when thinking about the racing bikes
Zx4rr, that thing is 9.1L completely nuts pricing, but the engine and the performance is worth it imo, how many 400cc bikes out there that can output almost 80 horses.
2) Leave 313cc engines behind, make a bigger engine maybe 400cc or even a 450cc like sherpa
3) I really really wish TVS becomes the next manufacturer to move to twins.
So far, yes 🤞🏽
@motorinc yeah, let's see.
I,ve bought this bike with the quickshifter and it has been a phenomenal experience as my first sportsbike. I've done 600 kms till now can't wait for the sport and track mode to unlock
Wait, you mean to say you have to cross a certain number of kms to unlock those modes?
@@ayushluther RPM locked probably.
🤜🏽🤛🏽
hit below the belt ??!🤣🤣
Since the Triumph Scrambler 400 X has set some expectations, I would love to see if TVS can build something like that ❤
🫡😄
Just make the chassy and suspension setup of ronin like t4.
You got a good bike 🎉
We can feel the anguish @chiranjeetsantra28! There there 🫂
Delighted to hear about your visit to my city, Coimbatore! Its truly an excellent track (although not completely ready yet) for testing motorcycles.
32:18 "The better 310" maybe make it a parallel twin or a triple. Yeah it would be expensive and will sell less but hey, we would have an Indian "superbike killer, and UA-cam's favourite public road drag race master"!
Thanks for sharing your perspective MK!
I agree.
N/F250 unfortunately really looked a lot like my Ex- Discover 150 S/F; which Shumi had mentioned somewhere in other channel
And bought Dominar UG instead after riding RTR, RR, Highness, RE garbage.
I'd love to know your thoughts on my thoughts 😛
Looking forward to hearing back from you and listening to other people's opinions here!
Love,
CB.
One of the most underrated bikes!

Then yamaha would think of decreasing it's prices
Edit:-
Definitely a sports bike or bikes that have more zest, and if they manage to pull the twin thing, and at a price point of 3L, that would be the next best thing after triumph did the 400. Twin at this price, although it seems like a pipe dream though.
Making a twin for the sake of calling it a twin is useless friend
Thanks for letting us know Swastik!
Royal Enfield has a useless Twin. It's just for refinement and lazy riding. TVS would make a twin to extract performance from it and 12000+ RPMs.
1.1 - 2.5 is the sweet spot for many aspirational buyers, In that my favorite picks would be :
1) Ronin 310 (not against RE, just a smooth cruiser)
2) Adv 310 (Adventure)
3) Raider Petrol + CNG
4) Activa Electric
5) Norton 650
6) Excel electric
7) iQube facelift with Long Range
8) Apache RTR 125 may be?
The last part of the conversation turned out to be so on point. The 450GS shown at the EICMA must be a TVS & BMW co-developed project!
He thought it was so "clear" that he doesn't have to talk about it @niteeshdhayanithi3790 🤣🤣
@@yasasvisai4209 can you tell why you discarded Himalayan and scrambler
Thanks for sharing your perspective Yasasvi!

My pick for next TVS lineup would be - RS 457 competitor parallel twin (2.8ish Lac)!
Ground up developed 400-450cc ADV to compete with Himalayan 450 (3.6ish Lac Ex showroom)
Naked based on the parallel twin RS 457 competitor to take on dukes headon
All throughly modern takes!

@@motorinc +1 on the bike
I own a rr310 bs6 and I totally agree with what the host is trying to convey. Beautiful chassis with a mediokar engine.
Few points that i would like to add
Tvs now provides AMC which covers all the electronics under warranty and gives 15% of on all the body parts and maintenance items(engine oil, brake pads etc etc)
With amc the general service labour is free of cost.
Majority of service centers are don't even know how to service this bike except for 3 service centers in Bangalore which is hand picked by tvs and suggested to the customers.
Parts availability is still a night mare if something goes wrong internally or you have an external damage forget your bike for atleast 3 weeks
Shim noice is still audible in this engine even after these many years of R&D.
CONCLUSION: A really good bike of you know the in and out of the bike and how to get things done. I have never spent about 2K in the last 4 services that i have done.
Like to see next: ADVs like the V Storm
Very enriching conversation as always. ❤
I'm a happy owner of Honda Unicorn Dazzler 150.
Excellent video as always...

I really want to see a good Himalayan rival in a GS type ADV. would definitely consider. The Himalayan monopoly can do with some competition!
40+hp GS would be a good competition to the Him 411 and 650. But the thing is price should be set to rival the Himmy Series
Yes! That would be awesome, SB!

Tvs should focus on only one thing ,make racing machines and streat naked from 200cc range to 600cc; If they really want to succeed as an Indian racing brand
Yes bulding a adv lineup alongside is a good idea there shold be 2 advs one wth 200 or 250 cc and another with 400cc later they'll come with 500 or 600cc adv.
Makes sense though, 2618’s thermal expansion is far too high to be feasible for street use
Also, the top end of the steel conrods also reciprocate with the pistons and does weigh a substantial about… and so does the piston pin
Therefore,
10-12% weight removed from piston alone means merely 5-6% weight removed from the prime reciprocating assembly

- A revised Ronin that actually looks propotional and has a bored up 250-275 cc longer stroke that makes around 22-23 hp.
- A small adv on the same engine with Good soft supension.
- a bored up rr with more than 42-43 hp.
- a bigger adv with the rr engine.
- and finally, an untapped market, a 160cc adv with their 160 4v engine.
A perfect weekend to get started🙌🏻
@motorinc they have the resources, years of race engineering experience, so why not do it. Hope to see one in the near future!
things i want from tvs on top of good service
1. a simple adv bike like xpulse but that has power around 25-30bhp
2. a sport bike and naked that can rival duke390 and rc390. naturally it needs to have around 400cc displacement. now aprilia is in town too...
3. a ronin bike more close to the zepplin concept. and with a thumping engine atleast 350cc. this bike has to feel royal.
I suppose from TVS, there are about 3 bikes I would love to see with a all new sub 500 cc engine which could be balanced like the sherpa.
Priced in the 3-3.5 lakhs ex-showroom.
All would matter only if the service experience is better.

Hey!
I am thinking of buying a sports naked bike under 3 lakh.
Should I buy rtr310 or wait for the next generation (due to vibration)
And how the vibrations are as compared to speed400.
Kindly reply 🙏🙏
Thinking about this for over a month now. Even watched your video about on How to decide your first bike but still not sure.
Which one to pick between Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 vs TVS Apache RR 310?
My primary needs :
1. Comfortable for long rides
2. Lower or moderate maintenance
3. Reliability of engine
great observation by shumi 36:00
Can it be considered a direct upgrade from R15? Considering the price difference and performance difference.

It would be nice to see 2 products from TVS:
My budget is 2 lakhs which one I will buy base model royal Enfield bullet 350 ya hunter please tell
U compare a fully faired with naked. U have rtr310 there which is just 8k more than duke 250 and better in every aspects.
A 400CC+ TVS ADV for sure. Also the winglets seem to be taking inspiration from F77 since they're a major investor in Ultraviolette Automotive.
Banger Intro BTW. I love listening to it
Need you opinion shall i buy Ninja 300?
The way you roast the Activa in every conversation end, I just loved it. This product and Honda both well deserved it.
You were also invigilating and triggering and jodding down all the required possible checklist that what needs to be for applying a smooth transistion interms of achieving higher speeds with ducking and slouching and leaning to achieve the laps ❤️🙏
My thoughts on this:
Something big, exciting and reliable (as usual) from TVS loading .... Soon ...
Hope so!
Thanks for pointing the clip ons out… any word on the rearsets from the race kit though?
Yes, we'd love to see a TVS dual sport too, DM!
