Im from greece and my country is crete and the tea in the mountains is really good for our throats or when we are sick and alot more and I love living in Crete!♡
Hi pls help with 2 questions below: 1) do I have to wash the tea leaves before brewing? 2) they are black spots on the tea leaves….. it it spoilt? Thanks
Hi! Thank you for your question. We don’t tend to wash the leaves before steeping - it shouldn’t be necessary if the tea is good quality. In terms of black spots - I’m not sure… I’ve seen black seeds in certain types of Greek Mountain Tea before, but black spots on the leaves is unusual.
@@Teapro thanks for your reply! Pardon my ignorance, I think you are right, it looks like black seeds and not spots …. So black seeds are safe to consume here right? Any idea whether there are benefits in these black seeds?
Meh.. This is not what Greeks are talking about, this is just common mountain tea, the best one that Ancient Greek talked about is Salvia officinalis or Sage tea or ΦΑΣΚΟΜΗΛΟ or Ή ΕΛΕΛΙΣΦΑΚΟΣ or ΑΛΙΣΦΑΚΙΑ. You will not find it in super markets like this mountain tea of the video, it's more rare and more expensive, can be found at websites that sell herbs with grams or by people who collect it from the mountains.
@@Teapro i got it from a greek bakery/cafe but i think thats how some of them look i came across a picture that said wild mountain tea and it looked the same as mine very white and fuzzy and drank it and disnt get sick so i think its okay i hope🤣

I have been drinking malotira from my parents village in Sfakia for two weeks straight and I have been experiencing some serious health benefits.

It is now used for much more now. Anxiety, depression etc
I love Crete. Especially Chania. The tea is the best!
I just bought some. Do I use the stalks in the brew as well?
Been drinking it every evening lately!
My wife is Greek and I drink this everyday. Once between coffees during the day and once after dinner 👍🏻
Its soo good, isn't it? I love drinking it before bed as well.
Can't wait to try it!
Very nice 😊 ordering some now 👍
I could use all of those good things this plant provides. I work standing and lifting things on concrete all day so it'd be grand.

You can get it here: teapro.co.uk/product/infuserglass/
Does it work?
With regard to which benefit? :-)
@@Teapro all the stated benefits?
why no one makes video about growing it ?!?!?!?!
because it largely grows wild on mountain tops :)
I am from Crimea, and here it is called "Tatar chai" or Tatar tea, and it grows in local mountains

🇦🇱Albanian mountain tea🇦🇱
Back to your cave barbarian
This tea is all over the ballkan and most of south europe..its not greek tee
It might have to do with the ancient colonies all over the Mediterranean shores.
Adding honey and/or lemon, in your opinion, makes tea less healty? Strange statement.
Why Greek? It grows all over the Balkans, it's just a mountain tea...
It was first spotted in Greece.
It's true - it has lots of different names! Greek Moutain tea is just one of them 😉
