Having a full band now, from being a pure DJ shows how talented this dude is. Very Funky grooves and rhythm combinations.
Right? Dude went full circle, from sampling jazz and funk in his production, to having a full band recreate his songs with live instrumentation.

Love seeing such a genuine, humble dude with so much passion continue to rise. I saw him in Montreal sometime around 2016 and chatted with him briefly, he couldn't believe i had driven 2 hours just for his show, and now here is on KEXP, probably very common for his fans to drive 2+ hours for a show
Dude. It's so wild how huge Flamingosis has gotten to me. I remember back in the day when Chillhop Records started and I was mod over at the yt livestream and got to hang with him, Brock Berrigan, Birocratic and all the OG's. Seeing him live in Denver solo at a packed af club while he was upstage beatboxin. Fuckin love me some Flamingosis

Flamingosis is the truth, happy to see the success he’s had. Flight of the flamingo was one of the first songs of his I heard, great album. Also, Drew Sayers is one smooth sax player, also plays in the band The Motet which is a fantastic funk band.
I've been a fan since 2016/17 if I remember correctly. In the spawn of those years and a little before that Flamingosis made absolutely unforgettable lofi standards like Football Head, a lot of great mixtapes (Mood Provider Vol. 3 is one of the, if not the best genre fussing mixtape I've ever heard) ... They made one of my favorite songs, Sweet Chocolate... they just dropped a great album (who in here was with us during the livestream a few weeks ago?), now this...
They broke every conceivable expectation from what it was initially supposed to be just one more name in the chillhop/lofi/vaporwave ride... they went far and beyond.
And I'm guessing this is just the beginning. After the release of Sweet Chocolate I saw a Khruangbin level of fame potential here. And live performances are going to be now essential if that's ever going to happen.
Smooth Jazz has officially made its comeback. Thanks Flamingosis ☺️

Wow, I used to listen Flamingosis on soundcloud and I remember I discovered it while listening to lofi playlists here in UA-cam. I always figured it like some dude alone with his computer doing some nice mixes. Seeing it now on live is really good.

Music was amazing. Interview was one of the most awkward I've seen. Could have been a bit on Between 2 Ferns.

I remember when I was discovering future funk; Flamingosis was that odd artist in the playlist I would always skip (sorry, bro). His songs leaned towards lo-fi hip hop and jazz, while I was more inclined towards the low-effort sampling, ear-candy side of future funk. One thing that stood out, though, is the fact that every song featuring Flamingosis was guaranteed to sound good. Now, seeing that he has made it to KEXP with a live band, it’s really a testament to his musicianship.
