    WARNING TO ANYONE ATTEMPTING EITHER: The 3rd step on Shield and Harp have VERY similar sounding names, don't accidently farm 75 of the wrong item like I did. Both 1st and 2nd steps are IDENTICAL to top it off.

    Awesome guide for shield. I remember looking at the online guides in the past for ochain it all being clear as mud. I took a long break from the game after making my 99 Aegis. I need to return to make my Ochain.

    Just finished my harp. This guide really helped. Especially the dirty parts. ;)

    I never did much work in Abyssea before now and so I would have to go through a lot of quests to get the Abyssite of discernment, do you recommend I do that or should i just wing it each time I try to proc red by cycling through weapons and weapons skills?

      You could go either way, but I think that it saves enough time that it is worth the effort to get Abyssite of discernment. It would depend a which Empyrean you are going for though to some extent. If you were doing the shield for example, you might not bother. Because proc is not needed for the iron plates or colorless souls. And then the horns you need for shield drop from a single NM that is fairly easy to get. So it might be faster to just cycle the WS in that case. Throughout the process of making the other Empyreans though you'll want to proc hundreds of times so not having to go through all the WS at random could save you hours.

      @@cloudchiefarcade For now my only concern is Ochain and so I think I will just press on with blindly cycling through the weapon skills, If I aim for another Empyrean in the future I will go get Discernment. I'm currently @ 11/75 colorless souls and so after a while I will be at the point of needing to do the cycling. I will be going 99 war/nin. Given your vast experience can you recommend a possible reliable order to cycle through as far as the weapon skills while trying to proc red on the NMs near conflux 7 in Grauberg?

      I suggest that you start with a two handed weapon because they take longer to build tp for generally but if you are using regain atmas (which is should do) then you should be starting the fight with tp. Staff is a good option to start with since it has two red procs. After that I would suggest you move to dagger because it is quick to build tp and has two red procs. And then sword for the same reason. So between staff, dagger and sword you get in six procs fairly quickly. After that I don't find that it matter much what order you do them in.

    how tough is the azdaja fight? could my basic 119 trust party win? thanks for the videos by the way!

      Generally, I would say you will be fine with a 119 trust party however, keep in mind AoE sleep and terror can be a pain and could cause a wipe for a 119 trust party in theory. I would suggest using a support trust setup and then staying behind it. If you do this it will only use spike flail which does high damage but shouldn't be enough to wipe you and will be less of a problem than terror or sleep. Also it is possible for it to dispel all your buffs including cruor buffs if you are not standing behind it. And I would suggest having reraise because his melee attacks can cause doom.

    Is there any good way to farm the Colorless souls? I'm working on harp and it just seems soooo long and boring to work on... More so than the normal popped NM's

    • @cloudchiefarcade

      The only way to get colorless souls is from Abyssea T3 voidwalker NMs. There is just no way of getting around it, sadly.
      I personally like to be popping the voidwalker NMs while camping a time spawn NM that helps make progress on your shield or harp at the same time. That way you stay busy working on the over all progress of said item.
      Any of the t3 voidwalker NMs drop these from the hero zones so if this the only step you need you might want to try and find something else in the hero zones to be working on while the T3s are down. You can try jumping from zone to zone to get all the T3's but since you need to rebuild your abyssite each time to pop the T3, it is likely this will be inefficient.
      Wish there was a better solution to farming these then there currently is. Just make sure you have whatever Key item from RoV that forces your abyssite to move to the next stage 100% of the time.

      @@cloudchiefarcade I still will need the horns. So I'lll probably hang out in the range, farm it's pops and try get Time extenders so I don't have to leave. What is it, like 20minutes respawn for T3?

    • @cloudchiefarcade
      @cloudchiefarcade  4 роки тому

      @@FurlowT It has been a while so not 100% sure but I think the T2 is 10-15 minute respawn, and T3 15-20 minute respawn.

    i know this video is old and I just came back to game in 2021 but that harp is not worth it for all of that, you can literally just grind out 100 job points and just get a blurred Harp or blurred harp +1 but thats just me trying to do shit fastest way possible

    • @cloudchiefarcade
      @cloudchiefarcade  2 роки тому +1

      It does take quite a bit more time and effort than 100 job points but you get 2 additional songs whereas the blurred harp only gives one additional song. So there is still a reason to go for it if you are interested in building up a top tier bard.
