To add a further comment, there is only one player in the world more precise than Morikawa. That is the fabulous Korean player Jin Young Ko. In the recent CME championship Ko missed the ninth green in the first round and then hit the last 63 greens in a row! This is the greatest exhibition of mechanical precision I have ever seen. Whoever is teaching these Korean players is giving them absolutely perfect instruction. Not only that she has the most wonderfully analytical mind and calm demeanor as well. Ten years from now Jin Young Ko may be known as the most precise and greatest player of all time. Man or woman.
Siwoo Lee is the name of the instructor for Jin Young Ko. He has an academy called “big fish” if im not mistaken in Suwon C.C. driving range. Hes got a load of talent under his tutelage so I guess he is doing something right. He is a famous instructor in korea and has been for a while with or without being the coach of the number 1 ranked female golfer and appears on our version of the golf channel on a weekly basis giving instructions.

I am not related to him whatsoever nor is his business manager but I hope I can get a discount for his lessons (because i wouldnt be suprised if he charges up north of 500 usd per hour) if he sees all the promo work im doing for him lol On a side note though credit to the instructors but the amount of work these korean female golfers put in on a daily basis is ridiculous almost borderline psycho which I think is one of the reasons why I think we’ll never have female golfers play until their 40s simply because they are all burnt out by then. Talented prospects ultra competitive environment good money involved (one of if the not the only place in the world where the womens league get more “love” i.e. money, sponsorship, viewership etc. than the males) its just the perfect mix to create phenomenal talent.
Your great video of the four best swings should have had a fifth one! Colin Morikawa has a golf swing that is so good it could compare in time to Hogan, Nelson and Snead. His action in this video is very similar to Hogan, the all time master. Really, if you want to judge the best swing who is hitting the ball closer more often than anyone else? Morikawa has the best iron swing in the game right now. Period. His angles, lines and mechanical movement border on absolute perfection. His instructors in the past obviously did a beautiful job teaching him. Nobody has a swing so devoid of breakdowns. I believe twenty years from now people will look back at Morikawa as the greatest player of his time.
You could be right. However, it all depends if his back holds up, he has already had trouble though his action is not so extreme as some young players like Zalatoris.
Good analysis. Of course, very few can bow the wrist like that while maintaining a firm lead grip. Comes from practice while young and flexible. My wrist won't go anywhere near that even if I am not gripping tight.
Yeah, he's definitely the best iron player in the world atm. His short game is great also. He's going to win a bunch of tournaments unless, like you said, he tries to bulk up or change his body way to much or develops the yips or something like spieth happens to him. You never know with golf, but hopefully he's got enough life experience to be beyond that. I experimented with the bow in my wrist at the beginning of my downswing, but I've come to realize that I am much better off keeping my wrist flat and having a grip strength that accommodates that. I'm just done fiddling around with that and now I'm concentrating fully on making my natural strengths and tendencies all the better. I've gotten to a point where I know the keys for my swing and I'm not trying to emulate little things in other people's swings anymore.
Craig you haven't talked once about using the ground to achieve the power needed to produce a powerful golf swing, its starts from the ground up , the upper body movement is a natural reaction to the lower body's movements.
Just about every single video I do i have a arrow over the head mentioned 2-3 inches of movement down????? I talk about the advantages of this COMPRESSION PIVOT downwards into the ground and how we can hit it with a bent right arm and how it helps us hold our angles and get shaft lean. How many videos with big arrows and written info on the screen do you need there? I’ve talked about left hip extension which raises the Handle and creates a snapping of the club head so often. Johnny it’s great you post stuff but don’t be a pain and just make stuff up! Don’t belittle me or preach to me like your teaching me. Otherwise I will block you immediately and you’ll never see another video. To mention that I haven’t once mentioned using the ground is a insult! And completely fasle!
Definitely the best swing in the world at the moment. Just super to watch as well. Thanks for the analysis. I should have it dialled in by the end of the year :)
His early left wrist bow is huge. I think the key to not having the upper body shift with the lower body is side bend. There’s right side bend when the ball is hit but I think the left side bend is important as well in getting to a position where your upper body remains separated from the lower body move.
I tried this bowing of the left wrist and I almost broke it when I took a divot. What the difference was for me is I didn't see that he's taking a weak left hand grip at start up. That makes a difference. He's not pointing both hands to the right shoulder. He's pointing his hand lines to each shoulder. Good video
Tiger is still the all time great on the irons. He has proven that time after time thru thick & thin by having such intricate knowledge on iron striking & adjusting to his capability as required.
Yes your right tiger is statistically the best iron player the last 20 years Obviously at the moment he’s been injured and morikawa will take the throne here - but yes your correct
Great analysis. Can you explain why you’d have a weak grip and then bow the wrist like Morikawa rather than having a neutral one and normal flat wrist?
Because the Bowing is a flattening characteristic .. it enables a player to shallow the shaft earlier and to get the club out in front of them so it’s shallow plus they have lots of room…
@@CraigHansonGolf A bowed wrist shuts the clubface. It does not shallow the shaft. The bowed wrist (shut clubface) absolutely requires you to shallow the shaft. If you don't shallow (in to out) the shaft with a bowed wrist you will duck hook every time. The bowed wrist also makes you change your swing arc which is why there is so much shaft lean in Morikawa's shaft at impact. And this is why Morikawa and Hogan are extended really far after impact. A bowed wrist also turns the toe of the face down towards the ground which also make you swing way more shallow from in to out in order to hit the ball.
@@liquidmocofilmsllc4915 a bowed wrist adds to shallowing the shaft. That’s why all the players that have bowed wrists lay the the club off’!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!…. Of course a bowed wrist closes the face my god 🙈🙈🙈… Pick up a club and swing back and cup your wrist! - look at how steep the shaft is now from the same position when you bow the wrist the shaft flattens .. when you bow the lead wrist the trail wrist creates more angle this is one of the flattening characteristics to shallowing a shaft.
