Why is it called the B-Wing?! It should be called th T-Wing! Because you know... it's shaped like a T!

It looks like a lowercase b when the wings are folded and viewed from the side and upside down.
There's already a T-Wing, the bomber from Last Jedi, but it sucked so much ass that it's designed to immediately commit suicide when it drops payload, so let's just forget it ever existed, OK?
(Also, there technically is a T-Wing in Legends that tried to replace the X-Wing, but it was built so shoddily that it became a popular pirate vessel instead. *Please, just stop... And instead focus on the awesome overpowered might of the FUCKING K-Wing!)*

I would say that the X-wing is my favorite ship. I find it's so well balanced that it's hard for it to be considered obsolete in future eras.

My favorites were the A-Wing, B-Wing, and the X-Wing. These have been arranged in order from least favorite to most favorite.

I hope in the new canon they refrain from modelling new ships off letters of the alphabet. Five letters is enough. It gets to a point where the Rebels will stop attacking in squadrons, and start attacking in constructed chicken-soup-style sentences.

When I was 11 years old. I did the same question to myself. So I made sketches and drawings of letter named-wing ships that didn't and still not exist in Star Wars. If I remember correctly I had drawn a C Wing, an F Wing, a G Wing, an H Wing, an I Wing, a J Wing (wich was the coolest one), an L Wing , an N Wing, an O Wing (plot twist it was a crawler), a P Wing, an R Wing, an S Wing ( the weirdest one), a W Wing and a Z Wing. It was extremely fun and creative.

i like to imagine that the a4 y wings were just salvaged clone wars era btlb's which were stripped down to make them lighter or to use the extra parts to fix up more of them

Great video! Just one question regarding the B-Wing: In the movies we always see them flying 'standing upright' with the cockpit being at the 'top' of the craft while in artworks we often see them flying 'on the side' (don't know how to describe it properly). Obviously the cockpit can be adjusted depending on the fly mode of the B-wing. However, is there any 'standard' 'fly' or 'attack' mode for the B-wing? I would imagine it to be very, very hard to fly the fighter if you have the bigger part of the ship not below your, but for 20 meters extended to your side....
I don't know if you still need an answer.
But in ROTJ we see them flying upright rather than lying on the side. Their wings also fold when they aren't in attack mode so that helps a bit. The cockpit is like a gyroscope and sources say that it is incredibly frustrating to fly.

Were the A-Wings modeled after the Jedi Starfighters? Because even though the Delta-7 models are pointier, they both looks similar to each other.
If you mean behind the scenes, then it's just a coincidence; the Delta-7 was based around the initial concept of Star Destroyers for the initial rough draft of Star Wars, which where small starfighters instead of the massive warships they are. If you mean in universe, then.... I really don't know.
Yes, according to Wookieepedia's article on the Delta 7 (In Legends, not sure about Canon).

U-Wings were shown to be combat support transports capable of delivering squad to platoon scale ground troop deployments and then provide close combat air support for the troops. This would make them similar to US MH-60 Blackhawks in role.
