The distinctive thing about The Oh Hellos as a folk band is their sensitivity to the large builds in the songs. They go so quickly from soft to loud. It would be awesome to see them collaborate with a post-rock band.
i think it's one of the reasons i love them so much, all of their songs have this slow, deliberate build up from soft folk to loud rock with very satisfying conclusions
oh my god i would sell my left kidney to be able to see them live. the end of the valley (reprise) makes me cry every single time i watch it. i love them so so much. maggie owns my whole heart, tyler is so kind, joey is absolutely hilarious, matthew is amazing to watch.. i just love this band man
My friend and I drove three hours to get there.. four hours early. We were determined to get front row for our favorite band! This concert is still one of my most cherished memories and easily the best show I have ever gone to. I genuinely can't stop smiling getting to watch it all over again. Thank you for such a high quality recording of this amazing performance!
My absolute favorite as well. So much passion and raw vulnerability. The screaming and playing super hard ignites a fire in my soul. The banjo player too:)
this concert seems like it was such a fun time. watching it in 2021 i'm filled with longing for a time where we'll be able to all be together experiencing something like that again.
I ADORE The Oh Hello's, especially after seeing their Tiny Desk Concert (and watching it at least twice a week), so I'm really happy I found this video :)
Thanks, I now have this vision of him competing on Dancing with the Stars performing with his dance partner while still holding onto and playing his fiddle.
I'm 4 years late but I was extremely impressed at the balance and ability to also play still seconds later! He's easily one of my favorite people to watch on the stage
Practically worked from home for about 7 months and I would dance to this for a while with my baby. He’s a few months passed 1 years old and this is the ONE video that gets him to stop everything and watch/listen. Guess I Pavlov’d him. So much fun growing with my son and enjoying this full concert. Wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say we’ve probably listened to this like 50+ times. Lol
The energy that they have on-stage its just amazing. They are always dancing, jumping, running, even if the song is not that "fast". I simply love how they perform and other rock bands can learn a lot of The Oh Hellos in terms of on-stage performance
Was at this show, and boy what a performance. The love flowing from the band, to the crowd, back to the band, back to the crowd; It was a positive feedback loop of the simple joy of music.
The first song I heard from this band was Caesar. So literate and interesting. I really dig the clean, clever sound of this band. I only just learned, here, that the lead singers are siblings. Neat.
Watching this 6 years later, just as the world is hopefully coming out of this insane quarantine... Please tell me that you all are still making music?! I saw these guys in DC in 2014 (i think) and it was unbelievable. Such energy, such enthusiasm... I could use another dose of that in my life. Love this band.
When Tyler talks about his laser-focused way of listening to music at 13:00, I realized that's exactly what I do too, and The Oh Hellos are that for me right now. Thank you for making amazing music! :)
One of my favorite things about this is that people don't have their phones out. Just taking in the full experience of this beautiful band. I've been to too many shows where half the crowd feels the need to record every song on their phone.
i discovered them early on in last years lockdown when i was going on long walks to take my mind off of things and i hope, i hope, i hope i can see them live someday 💌
Man, this band is so good at performing, the energy is so high, and everyone is so into it. I love how they are are dancing. Also, the banjo player is barefoot? Fantastic!
saw these amazing people live last night. It was intense and beautiful with waves of sound washing over and into us. Absolutely incredible to be able to experience their show. I hope they come back to Pitt!
wait a minute? the end of 'valley (reprise)- was that a hymn melody??? its beautiful. i cant make out which song that is but it sounds like a familiar hymn. i love the oh hellos.
Wow, I can't believe I've been living under a rock and have just "discovered" these guys. Hoping they tour again and make it to the midwest. Iowa. Cedar Rapids specifically. Please. I beg you. Your music is truly a breath of fresh air. And I've watched and/or listened to this performance 15+ times now. Keep up the great work.
As an amateur Oh Hellos fan, this video is my first time hearing Maggie and Tyler talking - not singing, but talking. Hearing them talk and especially about their process and their lives is so refreshing. Thank you for this ^w^!
The The Oh Hellos show I went to in 2016 was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I would mow my lawn with my teeth for a year if it meant I could see them again!
Absolutely cool (sophisticated, fun, vulnerable, meaningful...) Great music and performance. I am also loving their new 'NOTOS' ep and can't wait to see the show in Dallas this year!
I've seen these guys live twice now, gotta say they are one of the very best live acts touring the US now. The energy of their shows is amazing, they are a joy to watch.

Every once in a while you get really, really lucky and find a treasure.
A Burrage this comment sums it all cause I literally stumbled across them
I come back every now and then for Exeunt... the band goes wild for that one, the banjo player always makes me smile.
That is the most metal banjo player I've ever seen.
Conor joking right? If not, still funny!
Meanwhile, if I move my banjo even slightly I can't play for shit. How does he do that. How does anyone do that.
Head banging Banjo.
i didn't even know it was possible to play _banjo_ so intensely.

Glad you're happy with the video! That was an amazing show. We're so glad we were able to capture that one. Great band.
I love them so much too! I caught them in New Orleans with one of my BFFS.
The violin player is my favorite. I’ve watched them live so many times and he is ALWAYS pumped.
i want to be as excited about and enjoy something as much as that violin player enjoys performing with this band
My absolute favorite as well. So much passion and raw vulnerability. The screaming and playing super hard ignites a fire in my soul. The banjo player too:)
i loved the energy from him in exeunt
that's Matthew Hagerman!

Another reason why I’m literally in love with him😂
I'm 4 years late but I was extremely impressed at the balance and ability to also play still seconds later! He's easily one of my favorite people to watch on the stage
Imagine these guys playing with The Lumineers
tyler forgetting some of the lyrics makes me smile a lil bit

I love how The Oh Hellos captures that perfect “I’m on an adventure” vibe that I love.

Pure treasure, beautiful music, tears from my eyes, here in cold Russia.
audrus177 i know what you feeling, mate :(
Saw them in London. They're insanely good and surprisingly loud live. Two drummers, a thousand guitarists, can't go wrong.
I started crying when they played "I have made mistakes" and the crowd was singing along. Oh my god I love this band with all my heart
I nEED to see them live. I've felt really bad lately, it feels like they're opening my heart
There has never been a more beautiful sound in my ears than when the whole band gets to sing or shout or hum, always the best parts.
I love how at 27:17 you can hear the audience sing the words with him
The first song I heard from this band was Caesar. So literate and interesting. I really dig the clean, clever sound of this band. I only just learned, here, that the lead singers are siblings. Neat.
ok but can i just say the fiddler's energy is so amazing, the guy just looks so THRILLED to be there in every performance. love the guy
i don't know how anyone could get through "Dear Wormwood" without crying, I love listening to this album more than ever because of how grounding it is

Not sure if you've seen yet, but they have a few new albums out as of last year! Notos, Eurus, Boreas, and Zephryus
The four winds! And the 10th anniversary remaster of Hello My Old Heart!
@@see.ya.in.another.life.brother they have remasters of their first album too :)
May the Holly Spirit keep inspiring you guys, I feel so much joy and peace with yours songs, God bless you all.

They are beautiful in their uncomplicated joy, complex in their glorious simplicity. I love this band with all my heart.
The day I get to see this band live will be one of the best days of my life
Wow! They have Sufjan Stevens on the violin AND Freddie Mercury on the electric guitar!
The violinist and that Nietzche are so enthusiastic, love them both!!
The fact the guitarist on maggies side was wearing a shakey graves t-shirt just made me love this band more
I haven't heard from them for a long time. I wonder what they're up to these days. Their music reminds me of someone very dear to me.
I hope they're working on a new record.
this aged very well

Folk band with the energy and ethos of a punk band. i fucking love it!
That transition from 'Eat You Alive' to 'Lay Me Down' is one I've memorized and loved from their performance on Audiotree Live *IT'S SO COOL!!!!!!*
The nostalgic vibes they give me kept me following them and loving their music.

Someday - someday I will see them in concert. Honestly they are my favorite band and have been for a long time. This only made me love them even more.
Man, this band is so good at performing, the energy is so high, and everyone is so into it. I love how they are are dancing. Also, the banjo player is barefoot? Fantastic!
This band hits so different from all the other artists and bands just soothes my soul listening to their music
Thanks for posting the full set! Really enjoying The Oh Hellos.

I like the inscription at Maggie's T-shirt, she's proving her good taste about bands. Thank you The Oh Hellos, incredible performance!

This will end is such a moving song... the way he sings "every line of comedy"... gorgeous
At the end of the show before the encore, the chorus sounds like Come Thou Fount...would love to hear them do that one!
It actually is what they play at the end of The Valley (Reprise)
admiring from Brazil, such good music!

Today, August 16, 2019 I discovered The Oh Hellos. Wanna listen to all their music. Awesome band. Love from Catalonia.
i discovered them a few months ago. it was an amazing journey and they're one of my favorite bands now.
wait a minute? the end of 'valley (reprise)- was that a hymn melody??? its beautiful. i cant make out which song that is but it sounds like a familiar hymn. i love the oh hellos.
It's the melody of "Come Thou Font of Every Blessing"!

Such a tight band. Their music has so much detail.

The The Oh Hellos show I went to in 2016 was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I would mow my lawn with my teeth for a year if it meant I could see them again!
I just wanna follow these guys around to every show they play.
I love that book "The Name of the Wind". So glad that was their inspiration for the album, because I always felt that way
I've listened to this whole thing like well over six times now.
Just saw these guys in Cleveland over the weekend. Their energy is infectious! My new favorite band, hands down.
As a Bandcamp fan, I am so thrilled to see this band get the fandom they deserve!
Absolutely cool (sophisticated, fun, vulnerable, meaningful...) Great music and performance. I am also loving their new 'NOTOS' ep and can't wait to see the show in Dallas this year!

The ending of this set always gives me goosebumps

That opening gets me every time. Wish the would continue to do it.
same honestly. like holy shit, something in those vocalizations just send shivers down my spine
no wonder I love them so much, they have all the same influences as me. Hey Tyler and Maggie, please come back.
I wish I knew about these guys back in 2016! I would've loved to be there.
I have watched this concert 15 times in the last month. It gets better every time I watch it! Absolutely love their music!

Really love this. I wish your upcoming Chattanooga show was not at an 18+ venue. This is the kind of stuff I would love for my kids to see live.
This band is wicked! I'd love to see them come out to Nova Scotia some day. I bet they'd get a great reception!
Maggie
What a STUNNING show! Thanks, GBH Music for bringing it to us!
Okay but like they need to do a collab with Lindsey Stirling. With plenty of dancing. I think Fiddleman Matthew would enjoy that.
Thanks for the shoutout @24:57! Keep on making great music!
I just stumbled across this band, oh hello...LOVE IT! Thanks for post it.
this is just magic
Tyler's falsetto on Caesar is next level
The band is like a breath of fresh air in this desert like era I swear
saw these guys a couple years ago and put on a good show. Good to see bands really get into it and play their heart out for their fans
the only concert i've watched all the way through on you tube! i am a bit late to the oh hello party but i hope they come to the uk at some point.
