    Outstanding build and I really like the longer format. Just cant wait to see what you come up with next to automate taking care of the animals.

    I have never seen a metering method like this before. Very very clever. Makes me wonder at how you come up with these ideas. This one is extra interesting. Thank you for explaining your auger as I couldn't quite understand from the earlier videos. Have a great weekend and hope everything is going well at your place.

      Thanks Glenn! So far it is working great. Now I just have to collect eggs each day, everything else is automated. Fill once a week and walk away. :)

    Can you add a full detailed build/parts list? Very interesting idea I'd like to try myself

    Do you have the STL files for the 3D printed parts?

    So, do your goats eat with their heads above their hearts?

    Another great video! One question, do the blades (baffles? vanes?) on the auger attach to the central pipe anywhere other than the ends?

    • @SoatMon
      @SoatMon  2 роки тому

      No. I had thought about pinning them but they seemed stiff enough without it. That motor is really powerful and I'm pretty sure it will twist them off or sheer the screw it it gets jammed. So far so good.

      @@SoatMon Thanks, I am considering building something similar, but I have 45+ goats and feed about 50 lbs a day.

    Hello, recently found your video on automated livestock feeder, very well done. I am going to build a unit based on your ideas, could you tell me what speed your motor rpm you are using? No AC in my barn so i will have to use 12volt, my plans are to feed cattle pellets and need to either build more than one or scale the size of this one up in hopper size? Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time making this info available. Ron

      I don't have it in front of me but it's very slow like 6 rpm.

    I would be interested in the automatic gate or door closer you mentioned that closes after the goats come into barn

    What motor did you use

    • @SoatMon
      @SoatMon  9 місяців тому

      I got it from Surplus Center but it's not available any more. It's around 100 rpm. You need something that will give you enough power, probably need at least 1/4 Hp.
