at 17:21 when you flip the water out, there is a rooster crowing and it sounds like the water hit him and shut him up. idk why, but that had be laughing. Good idea by the way on the waterer. I build my pasture waterers with a 13 gallon trash can and two toilet float valves. i dont have to worry about freezing. everything is underground. bury the can with about 4 inches above ground and backfill to the top, preferably with concrete. we hit 4 degrees and only had a quarter inch of ice. when the valve turned on, the ice melted within seconds.
round style toilet brush chucked into a drill would probably make quick work of cleaning the tube and it would seem that it'd be this guys style! I'm not sure how many of these he has around his farm
Thanks for the idea! I'll be making this for my rabbits as I don't think they get enough water from nipples. I'll be using one float to control bowls for a row of cages.
Yes it would freeze in winter. We don't get a lot of freezing weather and it stays about 10 degrees warmer in the barn so I don't have to shut it down to often.
Clever watering system. I built one like it for the chickens. Fed from a 55 gallon barrel rain catch system. Thanks for the idea.
Your clever ideas around the "farm" are seemingly endless. Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome!
This is great! I've been looking for ideas for a waterer for my ducks and geese. And I'm giving this idea a try.
That's awesome. Let me know how it goes.

That sounds like a good idea. Thanks for the comment!

I do use a round toilet brush but no drill. Just a few scrubs back and forth and it's good to go.

Your welcome, glad it helped. Good luck with your rabbits!
Hey did you use this for your rabbits? I’m thinking of doing it as well. Wondering about your setup.
Nice idea if u don’t want to clean it u can put a filter on the system
Where you get the float
I agree with the others. You’re clever concise and practical
Thanks!! I appreciate you taking the time to let me know!

Thank you buddy hope to see more of your videos
PVC is not rated for stored water, only flushing waste, and breathers. It releases pthalates in to the water.
Yes where did you get the float?
From Ebay, search for a water float valve.
Do you have issue with this freezing in winter?
Yes it would freeze in winter. We don't get a lot of freezing weather and it stays about 10 degrees warmer in the barn so I don't have to shut it down to often.
Cut the top off on angle so they can get at water easier
You might need to change careers man! You're fingers have taken a beating! Just giving you shit. Good video and idea. Thank you
Where did you get the float from
From Ebay. Search for "water float valve". Pay attention to the size of the connector for your water line before you pick one.

Where did you buy the float?

Great idea.
Thanks! They are still in use and working well, the goats use them every day.
You could use a toilet brush for cleaning it
That's exactly what I do! Thanks!
