Spill-ANN-thus ❤❤❤ i keep trying to grow it from seed. I was gifted hundreds of seeds and they didn't germinate. 😢 I bought yellow and bullseye TP from bc and they are barely an inch tall. It's nearly mid July in Oregon and we've had the coldest start to summer in decades.
I'm taking notes! My toothache plant seeds sprouted and I have a couple of little plants that need to find a home in the garden 😁 you have great timing😁
I have never heard of this 🪴. Great information. My daughter always has toothache pain and she's miserable at times. I will add this to my list as well and pray for the best.
I'm loving this series and how you present the information so easy for new growers and medicinal herb users to understand! I bought seeds for the toothache plant after seeing this, it just sprouted and had to come back to rewatch your tips! Any tips on washing herbs after harvest to make sure all the bugs are gone before drying? I am sure there have to be more efficient ways than what I've been doing! Thanks!
Thank you I love talking about it. And I just spray it with the water host before hand and then I let them dry a bit before picking them. Then I just let them dry on a plate. But I never see bug on them I wonder if it has the same effect on bugs lol
@@TeamBensonHomestead that definitely helps with aphids, which is what I've been doing and usuallythe only pest I find on my herbs. But last year's diligent hornworm hunting on my tomatoes must have been too thorough- I found one on a fork of basil! I didn't even know they would eat basil, so I wasn't really looking too intently. I can handle a bit of dirt, but worms have to go!
Thanks for the great info. I should really be growing a bunch of these. I have Burning Mouth Syndrome and I’m in chronic pain from it. The dentist prescribed lidocaine rinse, but that’s pricey and not natural, maybe this is something I can switch to. I’m gonna check our local gardening centers to see if they have any starts, will get seeds, too. How do you propagate these?
Oh no well I hope this helps you can make a rinse with it too. I'm not sure how to propagate it because I don't have any windows in my house good for it. But you can get seeds right now at baker creek
@@TeamBensonHomestead I just now ordered the seeds from Bakers Creek. I ordered the ones that look a little different, they have a red tip on them. I hope I can start these seeds now and the heat isn’t too much for them. How are yours holding up in this hot weather now? Glad you said don’t swallow them. I accidentally swallowed some of my lidocaine rinse and it did the same thing. Hate when it gets under my tongue, too. I mostly need it for my gums and just the tip of my tongue that burn the worst. I think this BMS is hormonal. I’m trying to eat more soy to help balance my hormones to see if that helps, too.
Thank you I would plant it in the spring it like pretty warm Temps. Mine was blooming in 110 degrees. If you can start it indoors this winter and then plant it out in the spring.
I had heard about this plant but didn't know if you could just use it fresh or what. It's nice to know one can dry it and of the other use...ringworm. Tiffany, can it be used for a sore throat...like put intoa syrup? Years ago I heard we can use parley for the same purpose...to help with a toothache. Do you have any information on using parsley to stop tooth pain? Also how long would the powder be good for. This is very interesting! Thanks!🙂 Happy Resurrection Day to those who are Christ-followers!🙂
Yes you can make a tincture and spray it on your throat. If you swallow it it will make your throat numb but along with everything else it touches lol. I haven't use parsley but clove oil works
You can actually use the leaves, the stems, and the buds. All of it works. You can make a tincture by covering it with 80 proof vodka or rum and letting it sit for 6 weeks. I have a video on how to make a tincture. You can also just store it in a jar and chew on it when you need it. Or you can steep it and make a tea with it when you need it
I wonder if this could be used for intubation instead of IV paralytics.... did your gag reflex decrease that you noticed? Not that big medicine will be interested, just wondering...
This is my first year growing Yellow Toothache Plant and I'm excited to try preserving them and using them for various ailments!
I love having it. It's helpful
I tried a leaf off of the plant and it is sooo interesting! I felt like I was at the dentist for a minute!
Lol right I swallowed it and I was like on God I will never feel my throat or stomach again lol

Yay I'm happy to help and nice I think next year I'm going to grow one in a hanging pot since it's kinda compact

Oh no I hope it helps her. Also get some clove oil.
@@TeamBensonHomestead adding it to the list. Thank you
I wonder if we can make a tea with it and use it in a bug spray for our other plants.
Yup the best bug spray for plants is garlic and onion. Just chop it up and let it soak in water.
Yeah the sun is so harsh here. A lot of people use shade cloth here too. The flowers are so pretty on the toothache plant. Hmm maybe I need one lol.
You need one of everything obviously 😂
They are really pretty and they pack a punch
It’s a very sacred plant to the people in Northern Brazil in the Amazon🌱
It's such an amazing plant I have need to use it before and it works like a charm.
Wow I had no idea there is such a plant. So useful to know. Thank you!
It's a cool plant
Thanks for giving this information. Lol, I am excited to explore growing this plant.
Great video.
Thank you so much. I'm happy to help

So informative, Thank you! I got two packets that I am going to sow. I am in zone 10a, do you suggest a fall planting for this one?

I have alot of luffa plants
Those give you sooooo many luffas. I love using them
Yea
Shade cloth and a layer of mulch keep the ground cooler too
Yup it's a must have here in the desert
Amazing how tomatoes are soooo resilient too heat hey?? Even here in our extended summer my tomato plants are still producing despite the odds!!
It is pretty crazy but they are just looking huge and lovely
Is this toothache plant a perrinial? I think I will try to make the tincture with the my plant. Thanks for sharing. Love your videos.
Hey thank you 😊 and yes it is zone 9 to 11. You can use the leaves and the flowers it makes a really good tincture
Using the inside of a banana peel works on ringworm
What i didn't know that, that's cool.

Wanted to get seeds for this for a very long time but they were never available. It's not summer here but it'd 93 degrees
Soooo hot lol its going to cool back down here but I'm not looking forward to this 99 degree day lol. And they have them at Baker Creek
Oh and is toothache plant hard to start or is it similar to zinnias and marigolds
I didn't start this one I found a start but I think it's just like the flowers
Was that catnip next to the toothache plant?
Yes my out of control catnip. So many regrets putting that one in the bed lol. It needs to be in a pot
What is the name of this plan
It's called a toothache plant
👊🏽🤯👍🏽
missed the name of this plant????
Lemon drop or toothache plant
Good to know that swallowing is not a good idea.
Lol I was like I will never feel my throat or stomach again lol
