    "It's not the style that matters , it's the artist"- when it comes to comparing and analyzing what is the 'best ' style, remember it is the artist that truly determines its effectiveness as a martial art. Learning a style for health and meditation is not exactly the same as learning it for combat application.

      there is no style , there is no form
      All there is becomes clear when you ask a real warrior , battle tested and sad at the violence they commited
      It's simple
      It's expression of the human body through motion
      Any expression is beneficial
      The real masters don't simply mimic the movements of the teacher
      Maybe that's how it starts
      We achieve serenity and create art once we stop mimicry and start creating art
      When I'm practicing Wudang Dan Jian or Tai He Quan
      Or any form really , I'm creating art
      I'm adding in motions without thinking , flowing and expressing my body with the Spirit of ancients before me that are alive once again through my movements
      The animals stop
      They watch
      They are mesmerized by my motion
      One time I was practicing Tai He Dao without a sword in my hand
      I added in spins and I added in footwork that I couldn't replicate if I tried
      This is Art , The Art Of Expressing The Human Body Through Motion
      Living, breathing poetry of The Warrior

    There's not much real Wu-Don art to be found on UA-cam. This is Wu-Shu (War Art.) This set is based on Jiang style Pa-Kua, which is "new" Pa-Kua. Cheng, or Yin-Fu is the "old" Pa-Kua. Fu style Pa-Kua is also of the "new" Pa-Kua.
    My favorite is Jiang style (it has a lot of Hsing-I in it,) having also learned Cheng, Yin-Fu, Fu, and the Basic Palm Change set. I think the Basic, or "old" set is as close to the original system we are going to see anymore of what Tung-Hai Chuan did.

      No: 1
      why did he get so many thumbs down ?
      No 2:
      Isnt bagua zhang supposed to be more like a dragon or anaconda moves, meaning the body has to be more fluid, soft n yet feel powerful?
      This master movement is tooooo stiff in changing part... the twisting n turning very hard not really soft pliable .... just my two-rmb opinion.

      wudang is a new style, built specifically to teach to the tourists at wudang. but they had to take the movements from somewhere. I honestly like some of their forms, but I don't like how they mix everything up. I am so happy that my teachers clearly taught me the differences between these arts, rather than serving me "chop suey".

      WDP is not a “style”, rather is umbrella for plenty of styles. Are they new or eternal is of lesser interest to me. Any great martial arts happened to be created by someone somewhere, they proceed to evolve even now and this is their greatest merit, not drawback!

    Beautiful! But what about mud walking?

    • @TaiChiGhost
      @TaiChiGhost 6 років тому +3

      What he's doing is called the Lion Step. The Mud Walking is too difficult for many who want to do a lot of flashy moves. There is also the Chicken Step, where the feet are picked up high and thrust forward; very useful in a "real" fight. Stomping the opponent's knee is against the rules in MMA. The Mud Walking Step is sometimes perverted into what one of my fellow students used to call the Opera Step; it has a long slide before you root. A real mud step is difficult to do while maintaining a smooth travel. You can see lots of Opera Step walking on UA-cam. The practitioner is always jerking forward, but the long steps look cool. The Loin Step is popular among real Pa-Kua fighters.

    • @Shadow05eth
      @Shadow05eth 6 років тому

      TaiChiGhost As a pa kua begginer myself I knew about the mud walking and the chicken step but I never heard of the lion step. What are the principles of that walking? I'm sure that's because I'm not experienced enough but I don't see what is the basic principle of this steping type aside from him staying at the same hight which is a base principle in all types of walking in pa kua. To me it looks like he is simply walking low.

    • @TaiChiGhost
      @TaiChiGhost 6 років тому +4

      The lion step puts the heel down first, which makes for a fast weight transfer. It is like an ordinary step, on the outside, but you still have to drill down into the ground with your Yong-Chien (pardon the misspelling.) That is the acupuncture point (Kidney 1) which is called The Bubbling Well. When you're doing standing meditation, it feels like you're standing on a wet Fizzie. It's located in the cleft of the ball of the foot.

      A Bagua Zhang form like this is like shadow boxing and every movement is like a mental rehearsal of an application. Bagua would actually be very suitable for street fighting and is deadly in the hands of a master. In a real street fight you wouldn't see all these moves because the proficient Bagua practitioner would end things quickly and especially if the other fighter wasn't familiar with the art. The Palace guards at the Imperial Palace were masters of this art and were bad ass.

      Thing is, mma has rules.. shaolin, Taoist, etc.. pretty much all Kung Fu..internal or external all have moves illegal in mma. When a person trains everyday and those moves come natural without thinking.. then we'll, someone may lose an eye..or may get nut kicked,spine or pressure points,throat strikes etc... That is daily.. end fights quik or avoid them. And walk away either way.
