“Tony Iommi reinvented heavy metal guitar sound”??? Dude he INVENTED the heavy metal guitar sound Sabbath are the kings of metal dude.
100%
Love that fuzz tone! You nailed his tone brother!
King Crimson's "Starless" intro guitar solo from the album "RED"
As long time Black Sabbath fan, I think that the boost in front of G4 produced closer sound, but maybe too difficult to tame. Anyhow, was very surprised, that G4 can produce that "vintage" type of distortion. Good work
The solo sound is unique and uses a Ring Modulator effect pedal and that would have been cool to include in this. I don't know of another famous metal song with that effect, other than one of there other sings.
Cool video
Thanks for sharing, that’s all I wanted to know. Could’ve saved myself from having to endure the adhd camera positions on this video if I’d read your comment first
Awesome lesson Sir,I really appreciate it
Thanks John I really appreciate it ! // Guillaume
Thank you Sir
- Lights Out - UFO - Michael Schenker [the live version from the epic Strangers In The Night LP]....
- Limelight - Rush - try to nail Alex Lifeson's unique, complex OD tone....
and of course....
- anything from Van Halen I and II....
Nice episode! Now, Kyuss Green Machine!
I’d love an episode explaining any rage against the machine song like Bulls on parade or testify
Then you've got something coming your way my friend :) // Guillaume
Hey fav metal song on my bday
Could you do Tame Impala - Why won't you make up your mind? Kevin Parker generally has some of the weirdest, satisfying, unconventional sounding tones out there, please enlighten us on how to get there.
Lovely video series, nice job
Hey,
Money for nothing, by the great Dire Straits please :)
It keeps coming back i'll have to ! :) // Guillaume
Rockin with Dokken...ALONE AGAIN...can't find good close up instruction on this one, love to learn, thanks
Bom demais parabéns 🙋
Great 👍 I agree 12th fret 🤟 sounds more ominous
what year of fender tweed are you using here?
I just wonder how and what effects were used in Sisters of Mercy - Gimme Shelter's intro version.
This Charming Man by The Smiths/Johnny Marr would be very fitting
Hello I'm new to guitar and I wondered how you make it sound like it does is it a pedal? I've tried to look it up what pedal but I dont know. Thanks
Hi and welcome to guitar ! :) Yes it is a pedal and the one used here is the Revv G4. // Guillaume
@@ThomannsGuitarsBasses thanks
I just realized that Ruud Van Nistelrooy could play Paranoid very well
hey man, what about platitudes and barren words from CoB
Yep that hotel room looks fifty years old . Much success mate .
It's at least 3 times that old haha // Guillaume
While I'm a pausing the video to look at the knobs, I wonder over the world. Among other things, I'm glad the G4 is a straightforward pedal. As of the controls, it's essentially boosted mids, slight cut on the bass&treble. But why did you pick a distortion unit and dialed in so little gain? Why did you pick the G4 (distortion) over say a G3 (crunch)?
Hi Adrien, excellent question ! I went with G4 because of the amount of gain and it's gain structure. G3 is crunchier indeed but also a lot more focused and modern sounding. Going with a higher gain pedal here and dialing it back allowed for more of an "amp about to explode out of control" kinda sound. Tony's sound is not really mid focused or tight per say, but rather sharp, dirty and all around massive. So that's why; hope I made some sense haha // Guillaume
Pretty close? More like right on the money!
You're right, it does sound better on the e string, 12th fret. Am I the only one who doesn't like using the bridge pickup?? How about The Zoo by the Scorpions?
I am very curious what Iommy would have to say about this very very close tone!
God Blessed Video by Alcatrazz. Steve Vai creates quite a unique sound on this song.
2:26 or use a power attenuator?
Spirit of the radio Rush ?
Ps Thanks Guillome always better without that Kris butting in hah!
The Verve - Slide Away or just something by The Verve. Why does nobody mention Nick McCabe when it comes to guitar playing and guitar tone?
Nice Video. Next time AC/DC Back in Black maybe
Cliffs of dover Eric Jonhson pls

Do you guys have the balls to fully replicate Royal Blood's bass tone from Out of the Black?
Ride the Lightning - Metallica the intro
close to the original for sure, would love to hear the tone for Square hammer by Ghost
Kaleo - No Good
I think this one is drier and much more compressed than the original
Metallica - The Four Horseman
i know this should by pretty simple but i just can't replicate it
It was p90s
The tone of Vietnam war
