...and another solo... at least the notes. Will take a while to get in rhythm but that's ok. Deconstructing these solos are getting me to my goal of being able to string together bits of "improvisation" that actually sound like something. When I played this song in my high school band, now way too many years ago, I'd like to say I was playing the solo wrong but that would be too generous. It was atrocious. Learning it now is my penance for what I put my audience through then! Thanks!!
I know the feeling. Many times when I was younger I would learn something that sounded okay but I knew deep down it wasn’t right. Even though I’m happy with where I’m at now. I wish I could’ve been more patient and forensic, if that makes sense, when I was learning. I wonder what kind of player I would be now had that being the case.
Sorry sped but you play it wrong. Its played (Tony plays it) at 12th fret with E and A strings, the first riff.. It sounds that much darker when played with thicker strings. Just if you want to sound it that much darker, satanic, mental, devil, evil and so on.
Main Riff - 0:10
Verse - 1:56
Variation 1 - 4:04
Variation 2 - 5:00
Solo - 5:48
Outro - 16:24
actually if you want to play like tony iommi he plays it on the low e string at the 12th string also good lesson

So since you got all rich and famous you don't do Black Sabbath no more?
I ain't rich or famous, believe me. And I only ever did one song by them, hardly a financial retreat pal... 🤣
