While filming the OSO Shootout, I came across this beautiful jet powered truck. The driver (Rick Kopp) was kind enough to share some info about the truck before giving us a VERY LOUD 1/8th mile pass.
- "J-79 General Electric" turbo jet engine Specs:
Boasting 18,000HP, Max thrust 12,000lbs, Thrust with afterburner 36,000lbs. (Afterbuning Turbo Jet)
Compressor: 17-Stage Axial, Combustors: Cannular, Turbine: 3-Stage.
(Used in Fighter/Bomber Aircraft and Supersonic Cruise Missile's)

I’ve seen videos of this truck when it was pyro.. not much different as far as the performance is concerned.. guy kinda seems like he has little knowledge of jets. Reason the other trucks such as Shockwave you don’t see as much of the engine is because the engine needs air to breathe and the inlet is under the cab closer to the front where air can easily come in from the grille. That’s not the case in this truck obviously. Never seen a jet vehicle set up like this and one with such a slow launch

It's a nice jet truck BUT far from being like the amazing king of jet trucks, Shockwave. RIP Chris.
Got a new game. Let’s put the death row inmates from state trucks appearing in wheelchairs and fire suits. Put them behind the truck. Whoever gets blown back the farthest and lives gets death sentence knocked down to a life sentence.
