After listening to this it's a wonder how the USA is considered as pillar of democracy and freedom in the world. Thom Hartman has exposed this fallacy through his excellent Hidden History series.

Hartmann is a genius of American political history, both ancient & modern, up there with Chomsky.
    Ignore him at your peril.

I found myself lately wishing Chomsky would distill much of his encyclopedic knowledge into more generalized, broadly scoped treatises on american political history. Hartmann has filled that role and is as indispensable as Chomsky for intelligently grappling with our current political/governmental nightmare.

The voting percentages are similar in Canada. I am an economically poor, and for a long time physically disabled man with no formal education. I have NEVER missed voting in a Federal election. The only reason for not voting is apathy and laziness.

P.S., he never mentions all of the dead people who "voted for" Biden.

Yes, a publicly financed election system, and FREE, I said FREE TELEVISION time to ANY candidate that is running for office! If you have free TV, then you don't need to take money from these scummy corporations! And if you're a Green party candidate, or a Labor party candidate, people will hear your message!

I don't think you should get rid of the filibuster or get rid of ELECTORIAL college unless it is replaced with people who know what is really going on in congress and everything that goes on in
Running the country and world which now is G20 G7 WE STILL NEED RESPONSIBLE PEOPLE

Interesting what he discusses about Greg Palast and what he exposed. I was living in New Zealand at the time and through Gregg and the BBC - I remember talking to my family about it. They had no idea. I was shocked that it didn’t get any coverage in the United States WHATSOEVER! No one knew it at the time and when it was discovered and brought to the collective American attention, it was too late.

The new economical war by Republican are in real estate, rental properties, supposedly based on the market, for example, my daughter rent in San Diego county was just raised from 3200.00 to 3,700.00 by the homeowner who doesn’t even live live in California, but after the crash of 2008, all those who lost their homes became renters, whose rents were more than their mortgage payment, and all those who created the crash got bailed out by Obama, instead of the home owners, sadly, also the republicans and Trump are currently putting out the message that the system is going to crash because of Biden, who they blame for everything, and the republicans maga people will not listen to NPR or anyone who isn’t with them, so they are very hard to reach…in other words, they are campaigning a scare tactic with misinformation…

If only jayapal would use her powers for good, actual progression instead of the theatrics that her and the others are playing taking turns being ‘the bad guy’ that insures that none of these great things she talks about ever really happens!
The entire squad is extremely disappointing! They know what to say to win, and then give in to the idiotic ‘the only way we can win us to be Republican’.
You win because of the good ideas you spout, the ones who spout status quo LOSE! So LETS DO THOSE GOOD IDEAS!!! You’ll win every election if you would just DO that!

So who pays for Medicare for everyone? Social Security. What they're not saying is Social Security is NOT welfare. Working employees paid in all their lives for the benefits of retirement or disability. However, the government's been 'borrowing from it' for years. So IF Medicare for all was passed, Social Security would run out of funds in less than a year and Senior Citizens and Disabled would be dropped from their benefits. These people would starve and become homeless. Follow the money, please.

    • @AnimalFarmDance
      @AnimalFarmDance 4 роки тому +5

social security is paid by a pool of funds. i think you are misinformed. also read how MMT ( modern monetary theory) works

    • @lindamullins1446

Remember Obama past insurance for all but you had to pay a little so everyone put some money in the pot. But rep. Said you can't make people have insurance even tho we have had to pay insurance to drive a car. But they destroyed it so if you don't have insurance and some hospitals can't turn you away. Social security was never meant to be borrowed from it started with Nixon borrowing from it and they never pay it back. It was meant to grown and the elderlies checks grow and keep up with what it takes toive and basically the interest on all that money would have taken much better care of the elderly but the republicans want it to fail. That's a reason they hate unions all these cost corporations money they have to pay better safety better insurance on employees even tho unions never ask for enough to wreck to corp. It's all about greed.

New York City is set to be the largest U.S. jurisdiction to allow non-citizen residents to vote in local elections regardless of citizenship... does it not preclude the lawlessness of illegal citizens?

  • @lloydjones3371

    1. Pushing the notion that non-citizens should be allowed to vote is insane. No other country on this planet lets people from other countries vote in their elections.
    2. When you hear only one-sided arguments as is the case in this video, it's a good idea to be very skeptical.

    • @mickimicki

1.: Wrong. Where I live, citizens of other EU countries can vote in local elections.
