Hey! A tip I found out while working on dolls is that when you are cutting off scalp or eyes, either dip in hot water or use a hair dryer to heat it up and make it makes it softer and easier to cut. Made a world of difference and felt a lot safer. It also makes the cuts way less jagged

Apparently you're not supposed to use nail polish to seal things, it goes yellow over time and can ruin your work. I love your dolls, but i'm somewhat worried they'll be damaged by inferior products, maybe try liquitex high gloss varnish and/or something other than nail polish to seal your things?
@@pbelizabeth9559 this is what i was told but nail polish shouldnt be used for anything but nails because it isnt designed to last over time as is gel polish, professional artists products are the way to go because using just nail/gel polish can ruin the quality of your art over time
Can confirm. I was trying to be cheap and used nail polish to make doll eyes shiny, but it yellowed and dulled in like, a few days. I ended up removing it and completely redoing the eyes

Honestly I've never seen such beautiful shoes on a custom. A lot of custom shoes look kind of chunky and awkward, but these ones look so natural. So much work went into those alone and they turned out great 😭💜

I'm so happy you're feeling better! Please don't push yourself too hard. I've never thought of using ink and alcohol inks! I've managed to get good results with acrylic paint. I mostly get any kind that has a stain warning and use that! You don't get vibrant colors, but for light colors, or just for something cost effective, it's great!

Fun little tip for anyone who may need it: if you can't get acrylic inks you can use the alcohol based pigments they sell to recharge alcohol based markers! Sometimes the color can be less vibrant than when using acrylic inks and you may need to use more pigment, but it's a great way to get pastel tones especially, change up values, create a shadow color/texture or add diversity for your synthetic hair needs (it works amazing with cosplay wigs too btw that's how I learned that)
