Love the space giants show. It was one of the greats. Besides Jonny soko, gigantor, and Ultraman 🤩
Tony the Tiger's Japanese cousin!
Also the showa tokusatsu version of Tiger Mask
Thank you for this awesome resume! Tiger Seven is one of my favorite shows since childhood: we managed to see quite a few P-Production series here in Italy (Spectreman, Kaiketsu Lion-maru, Zaborgar, Tiger Seven...) but the one that I loved the most were Lion-maru and Tiger seven. The latter was probably my favorite: it was so different, so dramatic, had some really horror-like atmosphere and often the outcome of the battle paired victory and loss. I really hope that we'll be able to have the full series in a more easy to approach version a.ka. with at least English subs like for the Toei Channel. This series really need more exposure, thank you for your video!
Man, I already knew this was a dark show, but DAMN! Never expected THAT twist ending!
A bit of neat trivia: P Productions was founded by mangaka Tomio Sagisu and his friend, animator Yoshio Watanabe, both of whom previously worked at Toho's special effects department in the 1940s.
P Productions was originally formed as an animation studio, but the production of Ambassador Magma would mark the studio's shift into live-action productions, and it's through shows like Tiger Seven that Sagisu gets to show off his skills as an artist.
"Tiger Furry Kamen Rider"
Dude, I didn’t know Tiger Seven was dying in the end of the series. I watched the last episode in italian but I thought he was running away from the fight just because of the trauma for letting the kid die…
In fairness, when I first saw the show a long time ago I had the same impression. That preceding episode was really dark after all. It took some research to figure out what was actually going on, which managed to add to an already tragic story!
This video made me watch Tiger 7
Be on the look out for Tiger 7's comic book debut in North America by August 2022. Published as part of Antartic Press' "Spectreman Heroes".
While i love the heisei/ some reiwa rider seasons, i watched black/black rx and kuuga which are arguably the more serious but fun seasons.
Guy literally summoned the creature from the black lagoon
Thanks you for sharing how you discovered Daitetsujin 17. It's a great series that found itself caught between the end of the golden era of tokusatsu hero programming and the post-Star Wars landscape, like you mentioned.
@@JapanHero I think the answer went to wrong comment hahahah
I enjoy Tiger seven
Is it me or do the henchmen remind you of Putties?
“Dude I don’t care about the Tiger head thing!! I still have super powers!!!!!………………God Dammit!”
A pair of details..
Mu? in the Sahara? isn't Mu Lemuria? the Pacific Atlantis?
I see the protagonist's father and i think of the interview man in the original Takeshi's Castle...
Yo! I didn't know you have a channel! I use to visit Japan hero website almost everyday back in 06-07!
And damn, I watch this series RAW and didn't know Go is dying by the ending of this series
Nice to reconnect on UA-cam and thank you for visiting the original site back in the day.! Yeah, started this channel back in October 2020 as a place to celebrate and talk about tokusatsu heroes like we used to on the old site.
Thank you for checking out the Tiger 7 video. That is such a good series! 🐯🤜💥
so tiger seven is the reason polar bears is disappearing???
Well, at least one of them!
Great video exactly what I was looking for thank you
Awesome. Thank you very much for your kind words. It made my day!
Looking for the original DVD box set in nice shape will pay 350 dollars
Another amazing resume. Will we ever see a case study on Dogengers and "selling out" to sponsors?
Thank you! Dogengers has been sitting on my "to-watch" folder for a while. I hope to get it to soon. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@JapanHero I honestly believe the downfall of Yabai Kamen and his identity is a tragedy worth telling in the Toku community, and a cautionary tale of why selling out ends up sacrificing so much. I can point you to an expert on Local Hero history if you want
I wish this was fully subbed this series
Yeah. I'm sure that it will get picked up sooner or later. It's a really good show that goes in a different direction than so many series of that era that makes it a fun watch.
@@JapanHero Kaiketsu Lion Maru is currently being subbed on UA-cam btw ua-cam.com/play/PL9yHLQpR8xZ-Hy36pdCy9-qiF6l6yleNr.html
Tiger 7 is set to appear in a comic book in North America called "Spectreman Heroes" by Antarctic Press this year.
Outstanding! I just looked it up and am very excited for this series to be released! I will make sure we cover it once they are released. Thank for for sharing that heads up with us!
@@JapanHero there are some pre-release sales on eBay for just the first two issues even though they are not schedule yet.
