Was worried about Eric after he posted the vid about getting the Jab and how his hands were basically useless and wracked with pain right after. Glad to see him on stage kicking it.
Slowhand always brings the "tone" no matter what song or version -- though I find the 1968 live rendition by Cream at Winterland, San Francisco,, CA (album: Wheels of Fire) to be the best. His guitar artistry with Cream and John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers was par excellence. ""Accidental Suicide" (from Back to the Roots), which has EC and Mick Taylor on guitars, is a stand-out. Clapton using the wah-wah pedal on the song (both studio and remix) versions) is the acme of precision and six-plus minutes of heaven. Just my opinion -- a long-time blues junkie.

The audience was so LUCKY coz they could see amazing Steve Gadd drum solo☺️ I went to EC live twice nearly 30 years ago but never saw Gadd solo who is one of the best groovy drummers on planet.
Does anybody know if Eric hooked with Bobby Whitlock while in Austin? Bobby lives there and as you probably know wrote a bunch of the great tunes from Derek and the Dominoes. I saw Bobby play at the Saxon Pub and spoke with him briefly after the show. Bobby is a class act.
@@dojomanrocks I watch Bobby and Coco on UA-cam sometimes. They're awesome people. I wish Eric and Bobby would get back together again and go on tour and do the whole Layla album. That would be great! The fans would love it!!
@@markhaus1329 I know. Bobby and Coco were so warm, engaging at the Saxon. Bobby walked around before the show and said hello individually to every person in the place. And, yes, I’d love it if he and Eric could play together again. He spoke very fondly of him during the gig.
My old band secretary was a former witch, I was putting on a Clapton CD she said couple years ago,I was living in the Coven house. It was pouring down rain Three OCLOCK in the morning. Someone is knocking on the back door She was the only one up,so she answered the door. It was Eric Clapton, he explained that he had Sold his Soul to the Devil at 16 to be"Eric Clapton " .He was trying to get it back!The head Witch sent him Away. True Story, this happened in Atlanta.

That's right Steve Gadd and Sonny Emory. I was at the Nashville show on September 21st. Eric and the band kicked major ass! Also when they played Wonderful Tonight I was hoping Katie Kissoon would do that beautiful vocal part like she did on the 24 nights DVD but they did not do that. Anyone familiar with the 24 nights DVD from 1990. I think it was 1990.

He was in Istanbul late 90’ties in Acikhava Theater with Steve Gadd, Marcus Miller, David Sanborn and Joe Sample. The band was named as “The Legends” and they played in only 10 cities in the world. Regrettably the same formation can never be together as Joe Sample passed away. E.C. will be touring in Europe 2022 so you better pick a place as it is very unlikely that he’ll be in Turkey again (after all these devaluations of our currency).
Since we all have to drop names and dates here to prove we are all THE biggest fan and connoisseur, here are mine: September 8th 2024, John Dobey, Molina Illinois. Now just enjoy the music. (Or not. Whatever)
@@Martychargin Eric doesn't need two drummers he just wanted two drummers Steve gadd can handle it himself he's toured with Eric for a long time. Sonny Emery could have also handle it. The Doobie Brothers has used two drummers for years
@@Scaramousche1955 yes sir that is correct. I was never fortunate enough to see the Allman Brothers Band but I have seen Tedeschi Trucks Band a few times and they are awesome live. Butch Trucks nephew Derek plays a mean slide guitar. Oh how could I forgot I have seen Gregg Allman live not too long before he passed away I was so glad I did.
It's Bramhall, and he fits Eric's groove much better than Joe. Not everything has to be thunder and lightning. If it's too sleepy for you, listen to something else. Eric's entitled to the pace he's comfortable with. I love Joe, but this mellower Slowhand in just fine.
There's only one who will forever be the best ! Thanks Eric for the incredible display of talent never to be seen again !
